Das schottische Girl Rock Trio The Amorettes wird im Sommer ein neues Album veröffentlichen. Am Freitag den 24.06.2016 wird es soweit sein und „White Hot Heat“ (so der Name des Silberlings) erblickt das Licht der Welt. Als Label-Partner fungieren dabei Off Yer Rocka sowie Cargo. Für den Produzentenjob konnte man Luke Morley (Songwriter und Lead Gitarrist von Thunder) sowie Engineer Nick Brine (Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, The Darkness, Oasis) gewinnen. Die Aufnahmen zum Album fanden in den Brine’s Leeders Vale Studios in Ebbw Vale, Wales statt. Morley äußert sich über die Band und die Aufnahmen wie folgt:

The Amorettes make a great noise, so I was delighted to be involved in the new album. They opened for The Union 5 years ago, and I’ve been watching their development with interest ever since. I think we’ve captured something really special with the album, and I think it will surprise a lot of people.

Schlagzeugerin Hannah ergänzt die Ausage von Moley mit den Worten:

It was a new way of working for us. We had a week of pre-production and building the songs in the studio before we started recording. It’s safe to say this process has brought out the best in our playing, and we have grown so much as musicians as a result.

Die 10 neuen Lieder wurden hauptsächlich von Gill Montgomery geschrieben. Desweiteren schrieb sie zusammen mit Like Morley und Ricky Warwick von den Black Star Riders. Zu dieser Zusammenarbeit sagt die Frontfrau:

It was a whole new experience for me, working with both Luke and Ricky taught me a lot about the writing process, and I think it really comes across in the new material.
