Die Jungs von Shinedown sind zurück und haben eine neue Scheibe am Start. In den letzten Jahren war die Band seltener in Deutschland zu sehen. Das will man nun mit der neuen Platte „Attention Attention“ ändern. Seit Freitag, den 04. Mai 2018 kann man die neue CD im Laden finden. Im Vorfeld der Veröffentlichung gab es die Videosingle „Devil“ zu hören. Damit ihr auf unsere Review richtig eingestimmt werdet, gibt es hier das Video.

Über das Musikvideo sagt Brent Smith bei Billboard:

It was all about starting the story off very dramatic. It’s not set in a traditional, quote-unquote music video style. It plays out, even in the four minutes-and-change that the song is, [that] we pack a lot of information into this first song for the viewer, because that was all built by design; we really wanted to make a statement with this video. The colors are very vibrant, the way that the editing is shot and the amount of detail in the story of the song, how much he was able to present, is quite frankly unlike anything I’ve been able to see any director be able to do for the first song you hear. It’s kind of like being a new artist… because I guarantee nobody will have ever seen Shinedown in this capacity.

Die neue Scheibe im Soundcheck

Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, PICKT UP THE PHONE. So lauten die ersten Wörter der neuen Veröffentlichung von Shindedown. Bereits im Vorfeld war der Song „Devil“ als Leadsingle angekündigt. Der Song sitzt und kann einiges. Jedoch wird man schnell hellhörig bei dem Wort „Leadsingle“. Oft wir dieser Begriff als Alibi verwendet, um zu sagen: Es gibt ein Knaller-Lied auf dem Album, der Rest ist Mist.

Auf „Attention Attention“ findet die Band jedoch zur alten Stärke zurück. Fans von „Sound of Madness“ wird die Scheibe zusagen! Egal ob der Titleltrack, „Pyro“ oder „Monsters“. Hier und da werden zwar Pop-Klänge verwendet, wie in „Black Soul“, doch die schweren Gitarren und das laute Organ von Brent sind genau die Songs, auf die Fans so sehnsüchtig warten mussten. „Evolve“ oder auch der Bonus-Track „THE HUMAN RADIO“ beweisen, dass ein Großteil der Lieder auf der neuen Scheibe Leadsingles sind.

Shinedown legen nach „Sound of Madness“ eines der stärksten Scheiben in der Karriere hin. Mit voller Elan (den man hören kann) rockt die CD ordentlich und ist im Bereich des Modern Metals / Alternative Metal eine wahre Musikbombe die noch einige Zeit im CD-Player rotieren wird. Meine Empfehlung zur Scheibe?… Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up, pick it up!

Me and Bill, after we had been talking about it, we had to go back to the drawing board, which I am so thankful for, because … there was a reason the universe had us redo it. When we met each other face to face, and even when we talked on the phone, he got it. He was all about it. We had the most amazing time working with him, so the plan is to tell the whole story and do a video for all the songs. It may not be in order in the beginning, but eventually they will be, and they’ll tell the story.
