Death Metal

Die deutsche Band HIRAES (Facebook ) ist zwar noch sehr jung, aber die Mitglieder sind schon gute alte Bekannte. Wer auf geilen melodischen Death Metal steht, dem wird die Band DAWN Of DISEASE ein Begriff sein. Leider haben sie sich aufgelöst. Doch wo ein Ende ist, ist auch meistens immer ein Neuanfang. Und dieser Neuanfang heißt HIRAES. Die übrig gebliebenen Bandmitglieder (Lukas Kerk, Oliver Kirchner, Christian Wösten and Mathias Blässe)  haben sich Britta Görtz geschnappt, die dem Mikro gehörig das Fürchten lehrt. Es wurden bereits zwei Singles veröffentlicht, die für viel Aufsehen gesorgt haben. Am 25.06.´21 wird das neue Album „Solitary“ erscheinen und wir von `metal-heads.de´ werden Euch verraten, ob aus dem Neuanfang etwas Großes entstehen könnte. HIRAES machen jedenfalls mächtig

Feuer unterm Arsch!

„Under Fire“ war die erste veröffentlichte Single. Schon dabei war klar, dass HIRAES nichts anbrennen lassen oder ähhhh…. Moment mal…. Eigentlich ist genau das Gegenteil der Fall. Mit dem Video zu „Under Fire“ fackeln sie ein infernales Feuerwerk ab. Ein Video, welches optisch mit einer Pyroshow vom Allergemeinsten begleitet wird. So etwas habe ich noch nie gesehen. Aber nicht nur die Optik dank der Pyroshow und Frontfrau Britta ist der Burner. Auch akustisch gibt es ordentlich etwas vor den Latz geknallt. Britta brüllt nach einer melodisch kraftvollen Einleitung mit finsteren Growls standesgemäß energisch drauflos. Dabei gelingt die Balance zwischen brutalen schmetternden und melodischen Parts sehr gut. So… genug gelabert… Hier ist das Video für alle, die es bisher verpasst haben. Kann man sich gar nicht oft genug reinziehen.

Melodische Härte

mit einer schweren Tonne schwarzer Erde sind das Markenzeichen von HIRAES. Ähnlichkeiten zum Sound von DAWN OF DISEASE sind natürlich vorhanden und das ist auch gut so, denn daran war ja beileibe nichts schlechtes. Cleane Vocals sind nicht angesagt. Britta growlt ordentlich fett aggressiv in das Mikro. Das weiß schon mal sehr zu gefallen. Die instrumentale Begleitung gibt sich wie erwartet ebenfalls keine Blöße und brettert herbe drauf los. Vor allem die Leadgitarren heben sich von dem massiven Riffing wunderbar ab und geben dem Sound eine melodische erfrischende Komponente. Alles natürlich keine neue Erfindung, aber qualitativ hochwertig umgesetzt. Da gibt es nix zu meckern.

„1000 Lights“

steigt gemächlich mit sphärischen Synthies ein, entwickelt sich massiver im vorerst gemäßigten Tempo. Allerdings wendet sich das Blatt im Laufe des Songs. Der Gesang wird rhythmisch aggressiver und macht dem Song heftig Druck. Eine starke Klimax lässt den Song zum Ende hin zu einer knallharten schwarzen Abrissbirne werden. Megastark umgesetzt, sowohl instrumental und gesanglich!

Sehr gut gefallen hat mir auch „Strangers“, der mit seinen erhabenen Keybordsamples und himmlischen Leads in epische Gefilde abdriftet. Dazu kontrastieren die dunklen Strophenparts.

Niveauvolle Prügelei

ohne Ende gibt es beim Titeltrack „Solitary“. Der Track geht brutal und kompromisslos zur Sache. Die Growls sind mit Düsternis getränkt. Welcome to the darkness! Neben dem rasenden Riffing ist es einfach nur geil wie flinke Gitarrenleads wunderbar melodisch über dem vehement prügelnden Schlagzeug hinwegfliegen. Von dem ausgiebigen irren Solo will ich gar nicht erst reden. Da geht mir richtig einer ab.

Fazit

Die Erwartungen aufgrund der musikalischen Vergangenheit waren groß. Und HIRAES haben die hohen Erwartungen mit Bravour erfüllt, indem sie mit „Solitary“ ein hochwertiges Stück Death-Metal-Kunst abliefern. Vor allem die Metal-Fans, die mit cleanen Vocals nichts anfangen können, werden hier sofort zuschlagen müssen. Trotz Abwesenheit von cleanen Vocals ist es gelungen, genügend Abwechslung im Gesang und der instrumentalen Ausgestaltung reinzubringen. Allerdings hätte ich mir zum Teil noch deutlichere Variationen und ausgefallenere Ideen gewünscht. Aber hier befinden wir uns natürlich im Bereich von persönlichen Geschmäckern. Schlussendlich muss man einfach feststellen, dass es eine geile Scheibe geworden ist und man darf gespannt sein, was HIRAES noch alles für Songs abfackeln werden. Aber freuen wir uns erst einmal auf die nächsten Live-Gigs, wo HIRAES ihr tollen Zündstoff brennen lassen können.

Death Metal

The German band HIRAES (Facebook ) is still very young, but the members are already good old acquaintances. If you like cool death metal, you will know the band DAWN OF DISEASE. Unfortunately they have disbanded. But an end is usually always a new beginning. And this new beginning is the band HIRAES. The remaining band members of DAWN OF DISEASE (Lukas Kerk, Oliver Kirchner, Christian Wösten and Mathias Blässe) have grabbed Britta Görtz, who teaches the microphone a lot of fear. Two singles have already been released, which have caused quite a stir. On 25.06.’21 the new album „Solitary“ will be released over Napalm Records and we from ‚metal-heads.de‘ will tell you if something great could come out of this new beginning.

HIRAES give you mighty hellfire!

„Under Fire“ was the first single released. Even at that point it was clear that HIRAES were not going to let anything go to waste. With the video for „Under Fire“ they set off infernal fireworks. A video which is visually accompanied with a very impressive hell of pyro show. I have never seen anything like this before. But not only the visualisation thanks to the pyro show and front woman Britta is the burner. Also acoustically there is something properly slammed in your face. Britta roars after a melodic powerful introduction with sinister growls as befits her status energetically on it. Thereby the balance between brutal blaring and melodic parts succeeds very well. So… enough talk… Here is the video for all who missed it. You can’t watch it often enough.

Melodic harshness

with tons of black earth are the trademark of HIRAES. Similarities to the sound of DAWN OF DISEASE are of course present and that’s good, because there was by no means anything bad about it. Clean vocals are not the order of the day. Britta growls neatly fat aggressive into the microphone. That knows already very much to please. The instrumental accompaniment, as expected, also does not show any weaknesses and breaks on it harshly. Especially the lead guitars stand out wonderfully from the massive riffing and give the sound a melodic refreshing component. Of course, all this is not a new invention, but qualitatively implemented. There is nothing to complain about.

„1000 Lights“

enters leisurely with spherical synths, develops more massive in the initially moderate tempo. However, the tide turns in the course of the song. The vocals become rhythmically more aggressive and the song makes heavy pressure. A strong climax lets the song become a hard-hitting blackened wrecking ball. Megastrong implemented, both instrumentally and vocally!

I also liked „Strangers“ very much, which drifts into epic realms with its sublime keyboard samples and heavenly leads. This is contrasted by the dark verse parts.

Classy brawl

without end is the title track „Solitary“. The track is brutal and uncompromising to the point. The growls are soaked with gloom. Welcome to the darkness! Besides the furious riffing, it’s just awesome how nimble guitar leads fly away wonderfully melodic over the vehemently thrashing drums. I don’t even want to talk about the crazy solo. I really get off on it.

Result

The expectations were high due to the musical past. And HIRAES have fulfilled the high expectations with flying colors by delivering with „Solitary“ a high-quality piece of Death-Metal-Art . Especially the metal fans who can’t do anything with clean vocals will have to strike here immediately. Despite the absence of clean vocals, it has succeeded in bringing enough variety in the vocals and the instrumental arrangement. However, I would have liked to see more clearer variations and more unusual ideas. But here we are of course in the area of little personal tastes. Finally, one must simply state that it has become a hot album and one may be curious what HIRAES will still torch everything for songs. But let’s first look forward to the next live gigs, where HIRAES can let their great songs burn.
