TIMECHILD (Facebook) haben sich erst 2020 zusammengeschlossen und kommen aus Kopenhagen in Dänemark. Blutjung und unerfahren sind die Bandmitglieder nicht mehr. In der Band steckt schon einiges an Erfahrung, was man den Songs tatsächlich sofort anmerkt. So hat man auch nicht lange um den heißen Brei geredet, sondern direkt losgelegt und schon für dieses Jahr das Debütalbum „And Yet It Moves“ eingespielt und wird es am 12.11.2021 veröffentlichen.

Der Albumtitel “ And Yet It Moves“ ist übrigens nicht so belanglos wie man meinen mag. Hierzu ein Zitat aus dem Pressetext:

„And Yet It Moves“ ist der Legende nach der letzte Satz des Physikers und Philosophen Galileo Galilei, nachdem der Vatikan ihn gezwungen hatte, seine wissenschaftliche Überzeugung zu widerrufen, dass sich die Erde um die Sonne dreht und nicht andersherum. Es ist genau diese menschliche Suche nach dem Sinn unserer eigenen Existenz und das Bestreben, uns über die Naturgesetze zu erheben. Dies sind wiederkehrende Themen im textlichen Universum des Albums.

Knackiger Groove

Und der Titelsong wird seinem Ursprung gerecht. Die Musik rockt schwer und heavy dahin und entwickelt dabei einen betörenden Groove, dem man sich kaum entziehen kann. Ja, da bewegt sich so einiges. Prägnant beim Song „And Yet It Moves“ sind die elektrisierenden Gitarrenleads, welche dem Song als Thema nicht verloren gehen. Dazu gesellen sich knackige gewichtige Riffs, ein starke Bassline und druckvolles Drumming. So entsteht ein voluminöser einnehmender Sound. Perfektioniert wird das Ganze durch den kernigen, aber sehr melodiösen Gesang von Anders Folden Brink.

Mit lässiger Coolness

schütteln die Jungs von TIMECHILD einen Knallersong nach dem anderen aus den Ärmeln. „Children Of A Killing Sun“ ist ein glorreicher Song, der mit verdammt viel Charme auftrumpft. Dieser schleppend groovende Beginn mit dem Killerbass und dieser geilen Stimme ist mit echt lässiger Coolness gesegnet. Dabei drängt sich auch eine feine Note Doom auf. Den schleppenden Groove legt man dann aber endgültig nach der Hälfte des Songs ab und ein heißes Gitarrensolo übernimmt die Herrschaft, wobei noch mal kurzfristig richtig die Post abgeht.

Mit herzlicher Wärme

begegnet Euch der Song „Shrapnel„. Zurückhaltend mit einer leichten Melodik und einem butterweichen Gesang schmeichelt man sich ein. Doch bevor man wie hypnotisiert einschläft und ins Traumland entschwindet, bekommt man plötzlich dann doch einen Satz Ohrfeigen und man ist wieder voll bei der Sache.

„The Bite Of The Frost“ fährt eine ähnliche Taktik. Eine in der ersten Hälfte zurückhaltende Nummer ohne schwere Riffs, dafür mit viel Wärme und Melodie im Sound. Es folgt ein fröhlich beschwingtes Zwischenspiel mit. Aber dann beißt der Song mit harten Riffs kräftig zu.

Herrlich durchgerüttelt

werdet ihr bei flippigen Songs wie z.B. „Last Frontier“ oder auch „Haze Of Dawn“, die es hitzig krachen lassen. Bei „Last Frontier“ entfesseln TIMECHILD zu Beginn eine wilde Fahrt mit fetzigen Gitarren und furiosem Drumming. Dann stampft der Song kräftig drauflos, aber die wilden Momente werden immer wieder entfesselt. Auch hier fällt die fantastische charismatische Voice von Sänger Anders Folgen Brink auf, die mich immer wieder begeistert.

„Haze Of Dawn“ lädt Euch ebenso auf ein heißblütiges Date ein und wird Euch gehörig ins Schwitzen bringen.

Fazit

TIMECHILD beherrschen diese Kunst zwischen den Welten der verführerischen warmen Melodik und dem wuchtigen mitreißenden Rock hin- und herzuspringen. „And Yet It Moves“ ist somit ein sehr aufregendes Album mit einer frechen Portion Coolness und heißen Rhythmen. Alles in allem ist es ein hochprozentiger Musikcoctail mit einer Reihe von Zutaten, die eine geschmackvolle Einheit bilden und für eine Menge Spaß sorgen.

TIMECHILD (Facebook) only got together in 2020 and come from Copenhagen in Denmark. However, the band consists of experienced musicians. So they had not long beaten around the bush, but has started directly and already recorded for this year the debut album „And Yet It Moves“ and will release it on 12.11.2021.

By the way, the album title “ And Yet It Moves“ is not as trivial as one might think. Here is a quote from the press release:

Crisp groove

And the track „And Yet It Moves“ lives up to its title. The music rocks along fat and heavy. It develops a beguiling groove that you can hardly escape. Yes, there is indeed a lot of movement. Concise in the song „And Yet It Moves“ are the electrifying guitar leads, which are a continuous theme in the song. In addition, crunchy weighty riffs, a strong bassline and powerful drumming. This creates a voluminous engaging sound. The whole thing is perfected by the pithy, but very melodic vocals of Anders Folden Brink.

With casual coolness

the guys from TIMECHILD shake out one exciting song after the other. „Children Of A Killing Sun“ is a glorious song that comes up with a hell of a lot of charm. This dragging groovy beginning with the killer bass and this horny voice is blessed with real casual coolness. Thereby also a fine note of doom imposes itself. The dragging groove is then finally put down halfway through the song and a hot guitar solo takes over the reigns in a highly brisk part.

Heartful

strokes you the song „Shrapnel“. Restrained with a light melodicism and a butter-soft singing you ingratiate yourself. But before you fall asleep as if hypnotized and disappear into dreamland, you suddenly get a set of slaps and you’re immediatly back on the hard road.

„The Bite Of The Frost“ follows a similar way. A restrained number in the first half without heavy riffs, but with a lot of warmth and melody. It follows a cheerful upbeat interlude. But later the song bites hard with heavy riffs.

Strongly rocked through

you’ll get with funky songs like „Last Frontier“ or also „Haze Of Dawn“, which let it crash heatedly. At the beginning of „Last Frontier“ TIMECHILD unleash a wild ride with groovy guitars and furious drumming. Then the song stomps hard, but the wild moments are always unleashed. Again, the fantastic charismatic voice of singer Anders Folgen Brink stands out, which always inspires me.

„Haze Of Dawn“ invites you to a hot-blooded date and will make you sweat.

Conclusion

TIMECHILD have mastered this art of jumpingbetween the worlds of seductive warm melodicism and massive rousing rock. „And Yet It Moves“ is thus a very exciting album with a cheeky dose of coolness and hot rhythms. All in all, it’s a high-percentage musical cocktail form a tasteful unity, which provides exciting entertainment.
