DECREATE (Facebook) sind eine junge Band aus Baden-Württemberg. Nachdem sie sich 2022 gegründet haben, dürfen wir ab heute die Früchte ihres kreativen Schaffens mit ihrer EP „The Leaden Realm“ genießen.

Das Debüt umfasst 5 Songs von erstklassiger Qualität, die allesamt knallhart vor den Latz ballern. Dabei legen DECREATE Wert darauf dem Sound eine gewisse Varianz zu verpassen. Man probiert sich also auch und bedient sich verschiedener dunkler Zutaten aus dem Bereich des extremen Metal. Im Opener „Elbow Society“ kann man sich direkt davon überzeugen. Das harte melodische Riffing mit den fließenden Tempiwechsel erschafft eine tolle Dynamik.

Die Growls von Sänger sind schön fies und finster. Auch hier offenbart sich eine schöne Abwechslung. Unwissende mögen es kaum glauben, aber auch extreme Vocals können sehr unterschiedlich klingen. „Elbow Society“ entfacht in der zweiten Hälfte noch einen mächtig wütenden Ausbruch und bringt so noch eine infernalische Schärfe hinein.

„Take This Life“

bietet wieder etwas andere Facetten und bricht mit kraftvollem Chorus hervor. Hier sind sogar im Hintergrund dezente Synthies zu vernehmen. Ein mächtiger Song, der seine Atmosphäre auch im gemäßigten Tempo super entfaltet. DECREATE lassen sich immer wieder neue Dinge einfallen. Gerade das Ende hält eine Überraschung parat. Kommt bei mir super an!

Und weiter geht die spannende Reise.

Ich komme nun zu einem meiner Lieblingssongs auf dem Album. „Waves“ ist ein spitzenmäßiger melodischer Death Metal Kracher, der die cleanen Vocals in einem grandiosen Refrain einsetzt. Und genau das finde ich bei DECREATE sehr geil. Es gibt zwar einen bestimmten musikalischen Ausruck, der sich durch alle Songs zieht und eine bestimmte Atmosphäre verkörpert, aber DECREATE nutzen nicht immer das gleiche Rezept. Die Zutaten werden ideenreich gemixt und sorgen so durchweg für neue Erlebnisse. Dies wird eben auch bei den Vocals sehr deutlich. Auch hier gibt es ein echt geiles Finale!

Das düstere „Pendulum“ folgt wieder mehr dem klassischen Pfad und verzichtet gänzlich auf cleane Vocals. „Darness II: The Leaden Realm““ vollzieht das Finale der EP und geht über eine Distanz von satten 06:25. Und ebenso hier enttäuschen DECREATE nicht und sorgen für kurzweilige Unterhaltung. Hier werden z.B. extreme und cleane Vocals zeitgleich eingesetzt. Es finden sich zudem ganz finstere Abgründe in dem Song. Und der Groove-Metal-Part ab der fünften Minute ist ebenfalls eine coole Angelegenheit.

Fazit

DECREATE begeistern mit ihrem Debüt „The Leaden Realm“. Auf technisch anspruchsvollem Niveau werden melodische facettenreiche Songs geboten, die durch die Bank für spitzenmäßige Unterhaltung sorgen. „The Leaden Realm“ ist in jeder Hinsicht mehr als überzeugend. Es offenbart sich ein großes vielversprechendes Potential, so dass man den zukünftigen Veröffentlichungen förmlich entgegenfiebert.

Nachdem ich diese EP nun etliche Male gehört habe und ich mit jedem Durchgang immer wieder neue tolle Dinge entdeckt habe, muss ich dieses Werk in der 9-Punkte Zone ansiedeln.

DECREATE (Facebook) are a young band from Germany. After forming in 2022, we can now enjoy the fruits of their creative process with their EP „The Leaden Realm“.

The debut includes 5 songs of first-class quality, all of which are hard-hitting. DECREATE attach great importance to giving the sound a certain variance. They also try out different dark ingredients from the field of extreme metal. With the opener „Elbow Society“ you can convince yourself of this right away. The hard melodic riffing with the flowing tempo changes creates a great dynamic.

The growls of the singer are nasty and dark. There is also a nice variety here. „Elbow Society“ unleashes a mighty angry outburst in the second half, adding an infernal edge.

„Take This Life“

offers different facets again and breaks out with a powerful chorus. There are even subtle synths in the background. A powerful song that unfolds its atmosphere superbly even at a moderate tempo. DECREATE are always coming up with new ideas. The end in particular is a nice surprise. I really like it!

And the exciting journey continues.

I now come to one of my favorite songs on the album. „Waves“ is an excellent melodic death metal smasher that uses clean vocals in a great chorus. And that’s exactly what I love about DECREATE. There is a specific musical expression that runs through all the songs and embodies a unique atmosphere, but DECREATE don’t always use the same recipe. The ingredients are mixed in an imaginative way and thus provide new experiences throughout. This is also very evident in the vocals. Here, too, there is a really cool finale!

The gloomy „Pendulum“ follows the classic path again and completely dispenses with clean vocals. „Darness II: The Leaden Realm“ marks the finale of the EP and lasts a full 06:25. And here too, DECREATE do not disappoint and provide entertaining entertainment. Here, for example, extreme and clean vocals are used simultaneously. There are also very dark abysses in the song. And the groove metal part from the fifth minute onwards is also a cool affair.

Conclusion

DECREATE inspire with their debut „The Leaden Realm“. Melodic, multi-faceted songs are offered at a technically demanding level, providing top-class entertainment all throughout. „The Leaden Realm“ is more than convincing in every respect. It reveals a great deal of promising potential, so that future releases are eagerly awaited.

After listening to this EP several times now and discovering new great things with every listen, I have to honor this one in the 9-point zone.
