Thrash Metal in Reinkultur

aus dem Ruhrpott, und zwar aus Dortmund. Direkt in meiner Nachbarschaft prügeln BONDED (Facebook) was das Zeug hält.

Also erwartet keine großen Überraschungen.

Dies fällt besonders gleich bei Beginn der zweiten Single „Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night“ auf!

English review

Pure Thrash-Metal

from the so called „Ruhrpott“ in Germany, specifically from the town Dortmund. Right in my neighborhood, BONDED (Facebook) totally freaks out and thrash mercilessly. The members are partly recruited from the famous band SODOM, who have gone their separate ways since 2018. On the one hand there is guitarist Bernd „Bernemann“ Kost and on the other hand drummer Markus „Makka“ Freiwald.

After the new album „Into Blackness“ fell upon me, I first had to collect myself and put my pieces back together, because the record tore me apart. BONDED let loose one uncompromising attack after another on you! BONDED are for me the Thrash Metal discovery of the last time. After „Rest In Violence“ it is already the second album of the band. However…. The new album „Into Blackness“ is simply the hammer or rather a heavy sharp sword to chop everything short and small.

Brutally

BONDED go to the point. Friends of unrestrained Thrash-Metal will have their bright joy. And as much as I like the new albums of FLOTSAM & JETSAM, I still appreciate when it’s just raw and bloody to the point. And BONDED nailed this with 100 percent!

The opener „Watch (While The World Burns)“ immediately shoots through the ears like a projectile. Massive and powerful the song chases away. And the angry wacky guitar solo is ingenious. The following song „Lilith“ is like the reincarnation of evil beats itself into your brain and rages there like a possessed circular saw. The thing rotates like hell and shreds everything into small pieces. And when you think it couldn’t get any worse, it picks up again and the guitar solo mills through your insides. No idea when I last heard such awesome raw thrash metal. A true slaughterfest!

Not a monotonous brawl

One could almost think that BONDED have sold their soul and for that, the devil himself has given them a killer sound. The songs do not monotonously thrash their way through the musical landscape, but reveal so much variance that it does not degenerate into boredom. But it is just pure Thrash-Metal. So don’t expect any big surprises. Despite all the vehemence, there is a pleasing proportion of melodies present. With BONDED you run with full energy over the full distance of 11 rounds, because it always remains exciting and entertaining. Recovery breaks are missing! It is a true neck breaker.

The world is fucked!

The album title „Into Blackness“ symbolizes the state of the world we live in. And at the moment it is not a state to be proud of. The development of human civilization is more than disturbing and there is no need to look so far away. Accordingly, the album title makes clear what it’s all about. The songs of BONDED are written with anger in the belly and go with their criticism relentlessly and unmistakably to the point. But it doesn’t always have to be full throttle. So the song „Destroy The Things I Love“ is a slow marching stomper, which has a mighty nasty charisma. In contrast the following song „Final Stand“ fires hellishly. The mission is: Destroy everything! Drummer Makka drums himself into a real frenzy on the album.

However, BONDED also have melodies in the magazine. This is especially noticeable right at the beginning of the second single „Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night“! The song goes because of the beautiful hooks well into the ear and has a real good driving groove. The raw husky voice of singer Ingo Bajonczak fits the raw sound perfectly.

Conclusion

BONDED have intensively heated the forge and hammered on the anvil the weapon „Into Blackness“ of pure hard steel. It is brutally sharp and strikes mercilessly. BONDED slaughter themselves with 11 songs mercilessly through the ears. They remain consistent in their sound and do without experiments. „Into Blackness“ is from one cast! This album is guaranteed to cause a stir.

Germany’s Thrash Metallers BONDED are pleased to announce the worldwide release of their sophomore album “Into Blackness” on November 12th, 2021 via Century Media Records.

BONDED, the group by former Sodom members Bernd “Bernemann” Kost (Guitars) and Markus “Makka” Freiwald (Drums) alongside second guitarist Chris Tsitsis (ex-Suicidal Angels), bassist Marc Hauschild and vocalist Ingo Bajonczak (Assassin), have decided to stick to their guns and once again collaborated with producer Cornelius Rambadt (Sodom, Disbelief, Onkel Tom) at the Rambado Recording Studio in Essen, Germany and also had Björn Gooßes / Killustrations (Aborted, The Crown, Carnal Forge) create the album’s artwork (To be seen above!), just like on their critically acclaimed “Rest In Violence” debut album from 2020, which entered the official album charts in Germany at # 84.

A first single for “Into Blackness” has been released today and “Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night” can be seen in a lyric clip designed by Cloud Music Typography here:

In their own words

BONDED checked in with the following comment about the track: “We are happy and proud to present you a first song of the upcoming BONDED album “Into Blackness”. Entitled “Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night”, this track contains all of the musical trademarks by BONDED at once: It’s riff-oriented, fast, with plenty of tempo changes and displaying a permanent contrast between brutality and melody. The intense lead guitar dueling and above all the memorable, powerful vocal lines make this a great representation of the new album. And this song could almost be understood as the album’s title track, as it is lyrically part of the 4-track war-themed storyline centerpiece inspired by the fictional book “The Division Of The Damned” by Richard Rhys Jones. We hope you enjoy this first foretaste of the album…and look out, as there is more coming your way soon!”

Here is the track-listing for BONDED’s upcoming album:
