Man nehme eine spontane Wette zwischen zwei tollen Musikern namens Melissa Bonny und Hans Platz und schon nimmt das Ganze ungeahnte Dimensionen an. Die Band THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON sagt dazu folgendes:

Wir können es kaum glauben – vor einem halben Jahr war dieser Song das Ergebnis einer Wette von Melissa und Hans, aber dieser Song hat uns zu etwas wirklich Großem geführt – wegen dieses einen Songs hat uns Napalm Records unter Vertrag genommen, eine internationale Band wurde gegründet, und jetzt arbeiten wir hart an der Produktion eines kompletten Albums! Wir werden euch die dunkle Seite der Songs zeigen, die ihr zu kennen glaubt!

„Jenny Of Oldstones“ mit Feuer

So kam man auf die Idee dem Song „Jenny Of Oldstones“ von der ultimativen Serie `Game Of Thrones´ ein anderes Soundgewand zu verpassen. Und tatsächlich kann sich das Ergebnis mehr als hören und auch sehen lassen. Aus der sehr melancholisch traurigen Ballade ist ein epischer Megasong geworden. Anmutig und majestätisch wie der am Himmel gleitende Drache Drogon präsentiert sich Melissa in ihren gefühlvollen cleanen Passagen, aber genauso gefährlich und brutal, wenn sie mit ihren gnadenlosen Growls entflammt und alles in Schutt und Asche legt.

Eine phänomenale Mischung!

Tolle Rhythmus- und Stimmungswechsel mit passendem variantenreichen kraftvollen Drumming, scharfe Riffs plus einer fabelhaften Leadgitarre (inklusive erstklassigem Solo) vervollkommnen den Sound. Mit den Tönen einer klassischen Harfe schlägt man sogar noch den Bogen zum Ambiente der Serie. Was will man mehr…

Da darf man gespannt sein, was uns THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON noch alles so auf die Ohren geben werden. Das Line Up hört sich ohnehin schon mal sehr gut an: Sängerin Melissa Bonny (AD INFINITUM), Gitarrist Hans Platz (FEUERSCHWANZ), Drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen (AMARANTHE) und Jenny Diehl (FEUERSCHWANZ) an der Harfe. We can hardly believe it – half a year ago this song was the result of a bet made by Melissa and Hans, but this song led us to something really big – because of this one song Napalm Records signed us, an international band was formed, and now we are hard at work producing a full album! We’ll show you the dark side of songs you thought you knew!

„Jenny Of Oldstones“ with fire

So THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON came up with the idea to give the song „Jenny Of Oldstones“ from the ultimate series ‚Game Of Thrones‘ a different sound garb. And indeed, the result is outstanding. The original very melancholic sad ballad has become an epic mega song. Graceful and majestic as the dragon Drogon gliding in the sky, Melissa presents herself in her soulful clean passages, but just as dangerous and brutal when she ignites with her merciless growls and lays everything in ruins.

A phenomenal mixture!

Great rhythm and mood changes with matching varied powerful drumming, sharp riffs plus a fabulous lead guitar (including first-class solo) perfect the sound. With the tones of a classical harp they even grab the ambience of the series. What more could you want…

So we can be curious what THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON will give us so much more to the ears. The line up sounds very good anyway: singer Melissa Bonny (AD INFINITUM), guitarist Hans Platz (FEUERSCHWANZ), drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen (AMARANTHE) and Jenny Diehl (FEUERSCHWANZ) on the harp.
