„HART“-Rock im wahrsten Sinne

Die schwedische Kombo KNOGJÄRN (deutsch: „Schlagring“) ist stilistisch nicht ganz einfach zu kategorisieren. Im Pressetext steht was von Hard Rock. Fakt ist einfach, dass dabei das Hauptaugenmerk wohl auf dem Begriff „Hard“ liegt. Denn KNOGJÄRN (Facebook ) werden ihrem Namen mehr als gerecht. Und das COVER mit dem Schlagringmikrofon unterstreicht die kompromisslose musikalische Erscheinung. Es gibt tatsächlich stahlharten Rock, und zwar gnadenlos in die Fresse, sowohl musikalisch als auch textlich! Zurückhaltung ist für KNOGJÄRN ein Fremdwort. Und das bekommt Ihr auf dem Album „Stora och farliga“ (VÖ 02.12.2020) an allen Ecken und Kanten zu spüren, unmittelbar und brutal. Davon könnte Ihr Euch schon mal direkt hier beim Song „Mer än du ser“ überzeugen, der aber zumindest noch mit einem „versöhnlichen“ Refrain daherkommt. Über das Lied selber sagt die Band folgendes:

Es ist nicht immer alles so, wie es scheint. Es gibt viel in einem Menschen, neben Licht auch Dunkelheit, die man nie zeigt. Und es gibt oft kaputte Fragmente in einem selbst, vor denen man ein wenig Angst hat.

Permanent hart

zieht sich das ruppige Riffing durch das gesamte Album und fährt schon mal auf Core-Gleisen mit coolen Breakdowns. Dementsprechend shoutet Sänger Kim Ericsson die Texte größtenteils mit aller Kraft und Wut aus seiner Kehle. Und trotz der für mich fremdländischen Sprache konnte ich voller Inbrunst einige Zeilen mitgrölen. So nehme man den Song „Älskar Ingen“, der unerbittlich hart nach vorne marschiert und keine Widerrede duldet. Auch dazu gibt es einen Kommentar der Band:

Das Lied handelt von einer egoistischen Person, die nichts tut, solange es ihnen nicht nützt. Einer, der Menschen für seinen eigenen Gewinn ausbeutet

Fazit

KNOGJÄRN benehmen sich wie die Axt im Walde und sie hinterlassen reichlich Kleinholz. Es gibt knallharten Rock mit einer stahlhartem Metal-Legierung vor den Latz. Die Musik ist hochexplosiv und zündet ein echtes Feuerwerk. Und trotzdem wird der melodische Part nicht ganz unter den Tisch gekehrt. Und es bedarf nicht mehr der Worte, die nur überflüssig wären. Zieht Euch lieber die Musik rein! Das ist Musik zum Ausrasten und zum Abfeiern. Einfach mal die Sau rauslassen! Prost!

The Swedish band KNOGJÄRN („Knuckleduster“) is not easy to categorize stylistically and The press release says something about hard rock. Fact is that the main focus is probably on the term „hard“. Permanently hard

the rough riffing runs through the entire album and sometimes drives on core tracks with cool breakdowns. Accordingly, singer Kim Ericsson shouts the lyrics mostly with all his might and fury from his throat. And despite the foreign language for me, I could fervently bawl along some lines. Take the song „Älskar Ingen“, for example, which marches relentlessly hard forward and tolerates no backtalk. There is a commentary by the band on this as well:

The song is about a selfish person who does nothing unless it benefits them. One who exploits people for his own gain.

Result

KNOGJÄRN behave like an sharp wild axe in the woods and they leave behind plenty of small wood. There is hard rock with a steel-hard metal straight into your face. The music is highly explosive and ignites real fireworks. And still the melodic part is not completely swept under the table. And there is no need for more words, which would only be superfluous. You should rather listen to the music! This is music to freak out and to party. Simply rock your asses off! Cheers!
