THANKS FOR CALLING (Facebook) sind eine junge Band aus Kanada. Wir alle wissen, dass auch von dort sehr geile Bands herkommen. 2020 haben sie eine solide Metalcore/Hardcore EP „Sunrise“ digital veröffentlicht. Jetzt haben sie sich aber mal kreativ ausprobiert und ich finde, dass ein sehr großer Schritt nach vorne ist. Ich fühle mich dabei an eine andere Band aus dem Ruhrpott erinnert, die diesen Schritt ebenfalls vollzogen haben.

ANY GIVEN DAY (Facebook) hat es einen Riesenerfolg gebracht. Ganze 10 Jahre ist es her, dass die Ruhrpottband mit „Diamonds“ für mächtig Aufsehen gesorgt haben. Das Cover vom Rihanna-Hit hat sie in die Topliga der Metalcore Bands katapultiert und das Video hat bis heute über 15 Millionen Views zu verzeichnen. Grund genug für die Band dieses Cover mit einem neuen Jubiläumsvideo zu würdigen. Der Song ist nach wie vor hammermäßig und einfach zeitlos. Genießt diesen Song noch einmal, bevor ich zu dem Cover der Band THANKS FOR CALLING komme, dass mich zur Zeit begeistert.

Der Song „Light Switch“ ist ursprünglich ein Popsong von Charlie Puth, das mit einem recht lustigen Video bedacht wurde. Musikalisch kann ich damit leider nicht so viel anfangen. Doch THANKS FOR CALLING haben dem seichten Pop-Hit eine Generalüberholung gegönnt und etwas völlig neues daraus gemacht. Doch um die Arbeit der Band zu würdigen, solltet Ihr Euch erst einmal das Original reinziehen.

THANKS FOR CALLING haben sich den Song geschnappt und ein verdammt geiles Metal-Cover daraus gemacht. Aus dem harmlosen Pop-Gedudel ist ein hammermäßiger Banger geworden, der mit fetten Riffs und treibenden Drums auf den Putz haut. Der Mix aus markigen Growls und cleanem Gesang kommt sehr gut rüber. Die Melodien des Originals werden gekonnt aufgegriffen. So wird der Cover-Song zusätzlich zu einem Ohrwurm.

Also ich komme von dem Song nicht mehr los…. Das Video wurde durch ‚MDiamond Films‘ (Facebook) in Szene gesetzt und geht ebenso in eine völlig andere Richtung als das Original. Mit schnellen Schnitten und coolen Lichtspielereien wird die Energie des Songs super unterstrichen.

THANKS FOR CALLING (Facebook) are a young band from Canada. We all know that very awesome bands come from there as well. In 2020 they released a solid Metalcore/Hardcore EP „Sunrise“ digitally. But now they have created something new and I think that is a very big step forward. I feel reminded of another band from the German ‚Ruhrpott‘ area who also took this step.

ANY GIVEN DAY (Facebook) has brought it a huge success. It’s been 10 years since the Ruhrpott band caused a sensation with „Diamonds“. The cover of the Rihanna hit catapulted them into the top league of Metalcore bands and the video has over 15 million views to date. Reason enough for the band to honor this cover with a new anniversary video. The song is still awesome and simply timeless. Enjoy this song again, before I come to the cover of the band THANKS FOR CALLING that currently inspires me.

The song „Light Switch“ is originally a Pop song by Charlie Puth, which was covered with a quite funny video. Musically, it’s not my cup of tea, unfortunately. But THANKS FOR CALLING gave the shallow pop hit a major overhaul and made something completely new out of it. But to appreciate the work of the band, you should first check out the original.

THANKS FOR CALLING took the song and made a damn cool Metal cover out of it. The harmless pop skirmish has become an awesome banger, which hits with fat riffs and driving drums. Pithy growls and clean vocals comes across very well. The melodies of the original are skillfully taken up. So the cover song becomes an awesome catchy experience. You can’t get away from this song anymore….

The video was staged by ‚MDiamond Films‘ (Facebook) and also goes in a completely different direction than the original. It is cool made and underlines the energy of the song with fast cuts and cool light shows.
