Im Nachgang zur kürzlich erschienenen Scheibe „Synchro Anarchy“ haben die Kanadier von Voivod die Musik der Serie Ultraman auf einer EP vertont. Dazu kommt vorab ein Video, welches von einer AI erstellt wurde. Coole Sache.

Today, Canadian sci-fi metal innovators VOIVOD are proud to present a new video for their song “Quest For Nothing”, off their latest album “Synchro Anarchy”.

One of the first video clips created with AI technology, the clip was produced by Luc Leclerc / Above The Void (https://abovethevoid.com) and VOIVOD’s drummer Michel “Away” Langevin checked in with the following comment about it: “When AI art started appearing online a few months ago, my jaw dropped to the floor. When Luc Leclerc, webmaster for Voïvod, showed me what he could do with AI animation, my jaw dropped to the basement! His video perfectly captures the dystopian side of the music and lyrics for “Quest For Nothing”. Hold on tight to your seat and enjoy!”.

Closing in on 40 eventful years of existence, VOIVOD are looking forward to the release of the “Ultraman – EP” on November 4th, 2022 via Century Media Records, complimenting their latest “Synchro Anarchy” album release in perfect timing for their upcoming touring activities as special guest to Opeth across Europe.

VOIVOD’s drummer Michel “Away Langevin” commented about the EP as follows: “As a kid I often dreamed of finding a Beta Capsule, so I could transform into Ultraman, keep the city from being destroyed by a giant fire spitting monster, and hopefully save Akiko Fuji in the process. I’m pretty sure many people had the same dream…we sure did in Voïvod, and that’s why we decided to cover the main and battle TV themes for this EP. The recordings were done during the ‘Synchro Anarchy’ sessions and Chewy sings the Japanese parts! For the B side, we tracked down the lost encore from the 35th anniversary show, Return To Morgöth – Live 2018. Enjoy!”

VOIVOD’s “Ultraman – EP” will be released in perfect timing for the band’s return to European stages, both as special guests for Swedish progressive metal/rock group Opeth on their upcoming “Evolution XXX” European tour in November 2022 as well as complimentary headline dates by VOIVOD in additional territories.
