Power Metal

wird von FIREFORCE (Facebook ) aus allen Rohren gefeuert. Mit dem nicht ganz so kreativen Albumtitel „Rage Of War“ hat man sich scheinbar nicht so lange aufgehalten. Auch das Cover bedient herrlich das Klischee. Aber zumindest weiß der Hörer, was er am 15.01.2021 aller Wahrscheinlichkeit zu erwarten hat. Ich zumindest habe knackige harte Schlachthymnen erwartet, die hoffentlich nicht nur normalen Standard bieten.

Glücklicherweise

wurde ich nicht enttäuscht. Natürlich werdet Ihr auf „Rage Of War“ mit nichts Neuem überrascht, aber die Männer machen schon ordentlich Dampf. Das muss man Ihnen zugestehen. Aufwärmprogramm ist hier Fehlanzeige! Mit dem Titelsong „Rage Of War“ geht es direkt auf Frontalangriff und man fährt schwere Geschütze auf. Der Gesang von Neuzugang Matt “Hawk” Asselberghs ( auch Gitarrist bei der Band NIGHTMARE) passt wie die Faust aufs Auge und gibt dem Sound zusätzliche Feuerkraft. Aber aufgepasst! Nicht nur am Micro gibt Matt eine gute Figur ab. Auch als Gitarrist hebt er mit seinem phänomenalen Gitarrenspiel den Sound von FIREFORCE auf ein neues Level. Die anderen Kameraden geben sich ebenfalls keine Blöße und so kann man sich an qualitativ hochwertig gespielten Power Metal erfreuen.

Play or die,

oder wie war das noch? Ach ne, „March Or Die“ war die Devise beim nächsten Song. FIREFORCE preschen jedenfalls ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste weiter voran. Und ich merke langsam, dass sich der Sänger Matt „Hawk“ neben seiner Stimme auch gerne mit seiner Gitarre an vorderster Front austobt. Ist schon beeindruckend, was Matt für Notenfolgen aus seiner Gitarre feuert, auch mal gerne im Schnellfeuermodus. Da kann man nur in Deckung gehen. Hier ein Video von „March Or Die“…

Ne kurze Atempause

liefert die Ballade „Forever In Time“. Der Song plätschert zunächst ein wenig vor sich hin und nimmt zum Ende noch ein wenig Fahrt auf. Mehr als guter Durchschnitt ist es dann aber doch nicht. Das war es dann aber auch mit Pause. Ansonsten gibt es

ordentlich Druck,

wie z.B. auch mit dem Highspeeder „108-118“. Da ist Vollgas angesagt und die Drums prügeln gnadenlos voran. Natürlich lässt es sich Matt nicht nehmen, auch hier ein grandioses Shreddersolo abzufeuern.

FIREFROCE vergessen im Attackemodus zum Glück nicht die Melodien und Harmonien außer Acht zu lassen. Dies kann man unter anderem auch beim Song „Army Of Ghosts“ feststellen, dessen Refrain wirklich eine sehr schöne melodische Komponente des Songs darstellt.

Eigentlich haben es Panzer nicht so mit Harmonien und klingen auch nicht sonderlich melodisch, aber der Song „Firepanzer“ hat davon einiges zu bieten, wobei auf vorwärtsreibende unhaufhaltsamer Power nicht verzichtet wird.

Fazit

FIREFORCE stürzen sich in die Schlacht und machen dabei eine wirklich gute Figur. Vor allem Neuzugang Matt gefällt mir sehr gut, sowohl am Mikro als auch an der Gitarre. Mit seinen mitreißenden fetzigen Soli setzt er neue Akzente im insgesamt hochwertigen Sound von FIREFORCE. Deshalb schießt sich der stählerne FIREFORCE-Panzer mit durchschlagenden Granaten geradewegs in die Neun-Punkte-Zone. Wer mit der klischeehaften Thematik kein Problem hat, der wird an „Rage Of War“ seine helle Freude haben. Für mich jedenfalls das erste Power-Metal-Highlight des noch jungen Jahres.

Power Metal

is fired by FIREFORCE (Facbook ) from all guns. With the not-so-creative album title „Rage Of War“ they apparently didn’t dwell that long. The Cover also serves the cliché splendidly. But at least the listener knows what to expect in all probability. I at least expected crunchy hard slaughter anthems, which hopefully do not only offer normal standard.

Fortunately

I was not disappointed. Of course you won’t be surprised with anything new on „Rage Of War“, but the men make quite some power. I have to admit that. Warm-up program is missing here! With the title track „Rage Of War“ it goes directly on frontal attack and they bring up heavy guns. The vocals of newcomer Matt „Hawk“ Asselberghs fit like a glove and give the sound additional firepower. But watch out! Matt „Hawk“ doesn’t only cut a fine figure on the mic. Also as a guitarist he shapes the sound of FIREFORCE with his phenomenal guitar playing. The other comrades don’t show any weaknesses either and so you can enjoy high quality played Power Metal.

or what was the motto? Oh no, „March Or Die“ was the motto for the next song. FIREFORCE push forward without any consideration for losses. And I slowly notice that Matt „Hawk“, besides his voice, also likes to let off steam with his guitar in the front line. It’s really impressive what sequences of notes he fires out of his guitar, sometimes even in rapid-fire mode. You can only take cover! Here is a video of „March Or Die“…

A short breather

delivers the ballad „Forever In Time“. The song ripples a little at first and picks up a little speed at the end. However, it is not more than good average. But that’s it with the break. Otherwise, there is

a lot of pressure,

such as with the highspeeder „108-118“. There is full throttle announced and the drums beat mercilessly forward. Of course Matt doesn’t miss the chance to fire off a great shredding solo.

FIREFROCE fortunately do not forget to disregard the melodies and harmonies in the attack mode. This can be noticed, among others, in the song „Army Of Ghosts“, whose chorus is really a very nice melodic component of the song.

Actually Panzer don’t have it so with harmonies and also don’t sound particularly melodic, but the song „Firepanzer“ has to offer a lot of it, whereby forward driving unstoppable power is not renounced.

Result

FIREFORCE jump into the battle and make a really good job. Especially the new comrad Matt pleases me very well, both on the mic and on the guitar. With his rousing wild solos he sets new accents in the overall high-quality sound of FIREFORCE. Therefore, the steel FIREFORCE tank shoots itself straight into the nine-point zone with penetrating shells. If you don’t have a problem with the clichéd subject matter, you will have a great time with „Rage Of War“. For me, anyway, the first power metal highlight of the still young year.
