ist ein Song des neuen Albums „Rambler Of Aeons“ von der belgischen Band BARK (Facebook / Bandcamp). Das Motto wird voll und ganz erfüllt, denn BARK präsentieren uns heiß brennenden Rock ‚N‘ Roll von seiner dunklen Seite.

Der Opener und Titeltrack „Rambler Of Aeons“ zündet direkt die Rock ’n‘ Roll Rakete. Die Leads sprühen melodische Funken (Irgendwie fühlte ich mich an die Titelmusik von ‚Captain Future‘ erinnert. Kennt das noch jemand?). Der Drummer Ward Van der Straeten geht umgehend in die Vollen und die sägenden Riffs von Martin Furia lassen nicht lange auf sich warten. Shouter oder eher Barker Ron Bruynseels schmettert Euch die Texte mit einer kraftvollen Bösartigkeit um die Ohren. Bemerkens -und hörenswert ist die Lead-Gitarre von Toon Huet, die dem angriffslustigen Songs eine coole melodische Ader verpasst. So überrascht es mich nicht, dass er auch die Solos vortrefflich spielt.

Es geht noch wilder

Der Opener war schon ein derber Kracher, aber die Männer nutzen die Nitroeinspritzung, um ihren Motor mit dem zweiten Song „Underworld“ so richtig auf Touren zu bringen, Man startet noch recht verhalten doomig, aber die unheilvollen Leads kündigen schon was an und so dauert es nicht mal eine Minute, bis der Auspuff Feuer spuckt und der Song in den Drag Race Modus schaltet. Einfach nur geil! „Underworld“ beeindruckt mit massiven doomigen Elementen, High Speed Attacken und stampfenden groovigen Passagen, die einen nur sprachlos zurücklassen. Was für ein krasser Auftritt!

Heiß und schnell

geht es mit dem Brandbeschleuniger „I’m Here For Rock ’n‘ Roll“ voran, der Euch geradwegs mit high speed in die Hölle feuert. Die fette Basspeitsche lässt die Höllenpferde rennen wie der Teufel während die Leads kreischen und die Riffs brennen. Die Drums schlagen ein wie die Hufe der Pferde, wenn sie den Boden aufreißen. Und Sänger Ron als Kutscher und dunkler Prediger treibt das Gefährt zu Höchstleistungen an. Zu dieser Beschreibung gibt es auf dem Album mit „Messiah From Hell“ die passende Hymne, die genauso zum Mitbrüllen einlädt wie viele andere Songs. Dazu gehört auch das Statement „Fuck You Is My Etiquette“ mit seiner klaren deutlichen Ansage.

Aber es geht auch ohne Vollgas

Damit der Hörer keinen Kreislaufkollpas erleidet, treten BARK auch mal auf die Bremse. Aber das hat nicht zur Folge, dass die Songs weniger imposant auftreten. Als Beispiel sei hier der fiese Midtempo-Stampfer „Kid Giant“ genannt. Die raue Röhre von Shouter Ron ist natürlich wie geschaffen für so einen Song. „Invisible People“ trampelt ebenfalls alles in Grund und Boden und ebnet den düsteren Pfad, auf dem das Album wandelt. Immer wieder fallen mir die teils sehr dominant wummernden Basslinien positiv auf, die der Vehemenz des Albums sehr zu Gute kommen. Sehr schön finde ich auch den Track „Still Walking“, der am Ende sogar noch recht versöhnlich wirkt. Ein perfekte Hymne zum Abschluss des Albums.

Fazit

BARK nehmen uns mit ihrem Album „Rambler Of Aeons“ auf eine dunkle Rock ‚N‘ Roll Reise mit. Die Songs brennen auf ihrer Reise einerseits mit unbändiger feuriger Energie Schneisen in diese Welt und andererseits trampeln sie mit schweren doomigen Brechern alles in Grund und Boden. Das ist eine Reise, die man nicht verpassen sollte, wenn man auf harten kompromisslosen Rock ‚N‘ Roll steht.

The opener and title track „Rambler Of Aeons“ ignites the rock ’n‘ roll rocket directly. The lead guitar lets melodic sparks fly (Somehow I felt reminded of the ‚Captain Future‘ theme music. Does anyone remember that?). Drummer Ward Van der Straeten immediately goes fast ahead and the sawing riffs of Martin Furia are not long in coming. Shouter or rather barker Ron Bruynseels belts out the lyrics with a powerful viciousness. Noteworthy is the lead guitar of Toon Huet, which gives the attacking songs a cool melodic vein. So I’m not surprised that he also plays the solos excellently.

It goes even wilder

The opener was already a crude banger, but the men use the nitro injection to really rev up their engine with the second song „Underworld“. It starts still quite restrained doomy, but the ominous leads already announce something and so it takes not even a minute until the exhaust spits fire switches to drag race mode. Simply awesome! „Underworld“ impresses with massive doomy elements, high speed attacks and stomping groovy passages that just leave you speechless. What a blatant performance!

Hot and fast

it goes ahead with the fire speeder „I’m Here For Rock ’n‘ Roll“, which fires you straight into hell at highest energy. The fat bass whip makes the hell horses run like hell while the leads scream and the riffs burn. The drums hit like the horses hooves when they tear up the ground. And singer Ron as a coachman and dark preacher drives the vehicle to peak performance. To this description there is on the album with „Messiah From Hell“ the appropriate anthem, which invites as much to roar along as many other songs. This also includes the statement „Fuck You Is My Etiquette“ with its very clear announcement.

But it also works without full throttle

So that the listener doesn’t suffer a collapse, BARK also step on the brakes sometimes. But this does not have the consequence that the songs appear less imposing. As an example, the nasty midtempo stomper „Kid Giant“ is mentioned. The rough tube of shouter Ron is of course made for such a song. „Invisible People“ also tramples everything into the ground and paves the dark path on which the album walks. Again and again I notice the partly very dominant booming bass lines positively, which are very good for the vehemence of the album.
