DAYS OF JUPITER (Facebook) bringen direkt zum Anfang des Jahres ein fantastisches Highlight raus. „My Heaven My Hell“ hat mich sofort beim ersten Hören völlig begeistert. Alle bisher veröffentlichten Singles haben schon viel versprochen und die Erwartungen ein ums andere Mal nach oben geschraubt.

Die Band gibt es seit 2010 und sie haben bereits vier Alben veröffentlicht, wo schon viele starke Songs dabei waren. Jetzt ist es aber schon sechs Jahre her, als das letzte Album „Panoptical“ auf den Markt kam. Keine Ahnung, was die Jungs so lange getrieben haben, aber sie kommen mit einem großen Knall wieder zurück und ich bin mir sicher, dass das neue Album megamäßig einschlagen wird.

DAYS OF JUPTER haben bei ihrem Sound an verschiedenen Stellschrauben gedreht und ihn spür- und hörbar aufgepumpt. Dies betrifft nicht nur die astreine Produktion des Albums. Schon wird schnell nach den sphärischen Synthies beim Opener „Original Sin“ klar, dass es nur DAYS OF JUPITER sein können. Sie haben über die Jahre einen eigenen wunderbaren Sound geschaffen, der sowohl mit dem Metal als auch mit dem Rock liebäugelt.

Eine sehr imposante Mischung, die einerseits hart und unheimlich druckvoll auftrumpft, aber andererseits auch super catchy rüberkommen und darüber hinaus noch in epische Höhen aufsteigt. So ist „Original Sin“ zu Beginn ein mächtiges Versprechen für die Hörer, denn es ist ein überirdischer Song, der direkt mit harten Riffs und starkem Bass einsteigt. Der Song hat alles, was man sich wünschen kann. Dermaßen aufgeputscht hofft man, dass die restlichen Songs einen nicht wieder auf den Boden zurückholen.

Der Höhenflug hält an

Tatsächlich schaffen es DAYS OF JUPITER das zu Beginn gemachte Versprechen zu halten. Sie bewegen sich auf einem unglaublich hohen Niveau und setzen ihren Höhenflug über die gesamte Spielzeit des Albums fort. Die atmosphärische Dichte und die emotionale Ausstrahlung sucht seinesgleichen. Der Gesang von Janne Hilli  ist schlichtweg traumhaft. Er schafft es den Hörer in jedem Moment durch seine intensive Ausstrahlung zu berühren und zu verführen. Sowohl in der gefühlvollen Sangeskunst als auch in der kraftvollen Entfaltung macht er einen hervorragenden Job und man nimmt ihm alles ab, was er vorträgt. So wird auch eine Ballade wie „Desolation“ zu einem wundervollen Erlebnis. Ich habe bei diesem Song Gänsehaut bekommen, als er bei Minute 01:10 mit einer Inbrunst daherkommt, die mich einfach vollständig ergriffen hat.

Cineastische Ausmaße

Es sind wunderbare Songs, die DAYS OF JUPITER komponiert haben. Sie präsentieren musikalische Geschichten im großen Stil, wobei die Songs oft eine erstaunliche Entwicklung durchmachen. Sie schenken den Songs viele Details ohne das sie dabei ihren Fokus verlieren. Die Songs sind unheimlich ausdrucksstark und entfalten eine fesselnde Atmosphäre, der man sich nicht entziehen kann. DAYS OF JUPITER umgarnen den Hörer und reißen ihn einfach völlig mit.

„Parazite“ liefert ebenfalls eine ganze Palette von Eindrücken. Vor allem gesanglich wird auch hier die geniale Performance von Sänger Janne deutlich. Aber auch der gesamte Aufbau des Songs ist super durchdacht und schenkt eine Fülle von fantastischen Erfahrungen. So ist z.B. der dramatische ergreifende Part ab Beginn der dritten Minute atemberaubend und der anschließende Übergang in den Refrain sehr stark umgesetzt. Das ist eben großes Kino! Überzeugt euch selbst!

Fazit

DAYS OF JUPITER feuern mit „The World Was Never Enough“ ein Mega-Highlight ab. In dem noch jungen Jahr würde ich davon ausgehen, dass dieses Album sicherlich eine führende Rolle in den Bestenlisten des Jahres 2025 einnehmen wird. Das Album ist von der ersten bis zur letzten Sekunde eine grandiose Vorstellung musikalischer Kunst. Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass jemand sich der Anziehungskraft dieser Band entziehen kann. DAYS OF JUPITER (Facebook) are coming up with a fantastic highlight right at the beginning of the year. „My Heaven My Hell“ had me completely hooked the first time I heard it. All the singles released so far have already promised a lot and raised expectations time and time again.

The band has been around since 2010 and has already released four albums with many strong songs. However, it has been six years since their last album „Panoptical“ was released. I don’t know what the guys have been up to for so long, but they’re coming back with a big bang and I’m sure the new album will be a huge hit.

DAYS OF JUPTER have tweaked various aspects of their sound and pumped it up noticeably and audibly. This applies not only to the album’s flawless production. After the spherical synths on the opener „Original Sin“, it quickly becomes clear that it can only be DAYS OF JUPITER. Over the years, they have created their own wonderful sound that flirts with both metal and rock.

A very impressive mixture that is hard and powerful, but also comes across as super catchy and soars to epic heights. The opener „Original Sin“ is a mighty promise for the listener at the beginning, because it is a stunning song that kicks off directly with hard riffs and strong bass. The song has everything you could wish for. So fired up, you hope that the remaining songs don’t bring you back down to earth.

The highs continue

In fact, DAYS OF JUPITER manage to keep the promise they made at the beginning. They perform at an incredibly high level and continue this throughout the entire album. The atmospheric density and emotional charisma are second to none. Janne Hilli’s vocals are awesome. He manages to touch and seduce the listener at every moment with his intense charisma. He does an excellent job both in the emotional art of singing as well as in the powerful development. Even a ballad like „Desolation“ becomes a wonderful experience. I got goosebumps during this song when he sings with such intensity that simply took hold of me completely, especially from minute 01:10 on.

Cinematic proportions

DAYS OF JUPITER have composed some wonderful songs. They present musical stories on a grand scale, with the songs often undergoing an astonishing development. They give the songs a lot of detail without losing their focus. The songs are incredibly expressive and unfold a captivating atmosphere that is impossible to escape. DAYS OF JUPITER ensnare the listener and simply sweep them away.

„Parazite“ also delivers a whole range of impressions. The brilliant vocal performance of singer Janne is particularly evident here once again. But the entire structure of the song is also very well thought out and provides a wealth of fantastic experiences. For example, the dramatic, poignant part from the beginning of the third minute is breathtaking and the subsequent transition into the chorus is very strongly realized!

Conclusion

DAYS OF JUPITER fire off a mega-highlight with „The World Was Never Enough“. In this still young year, I would assume that this album will certainly play a leading role in the best of 2025 lists. The album is a magnificent display of musical artistry from the first second to the last. I can’t imagine anyone being able to resist the appeal of this band. (10 out of 10 points)
