Wow, die Metalszene liefert ab. Woche um Woche gibt es neue Releases und wir von metal-heads.de versuchen, euch beim Überblick zu helfen, indem wir euch eine Auswahl aktueller und kommender Releases vorstellen. Heute geht es los mit DEATH DEALER. Die Heavy Metaller planen die Veröffentlichung ihres neuen Studioalbums „Reign of steel“ für den 23.01.2026 über Massacre Records. Der Fünfer will zehn Tracks auf den Silberling packen. Wir haben mit dem Video zu „Blast the highway“ eine aussagekräftige Kostprobe vom neuen Material für euch:

WALK IN DARKNESS sind eine Gothic- bzw. Symphonic Metal Band aus Italien. Im Dezember hat man seinen fünften Longplayer veröffentlicht. Auf der mit „Gods don’t take calls“ betitelten Scheibe sind 9 Songs (inkl. eines Bonustracks) zu finden. Und genau den spielen wir euch jetzt vor:

Wir bleiben in dem südeuropäischen Land und wenden uns den Metallern von NOVOMUNDO zu. Der Vierer hat das Release seines mit beachtlichen 14 Tracks bepackten Debütalbums „The curse of cult“ für den 01.03.2026 anvisiert. Wir stellen euch jetzt schon mal den Song „The coven“ mit dem dazugehörigen Video (das ist wie ein Kurzfilm angelegt) vor:

Machen wir einen Schwenk in den Norden und blicken auf die Thrash Combo PERSECUTOR. Die vier Dänen haben mit „A way in life“ eine aktuelle Single am Start, die uns auf das für den 20.03.2026 zur Veröffentlichung anstehende dritte Album „Casualties of violence“ einstimmt. Musik ab:

NOVOMUNDO, DISCERUPTUS, PERSECUTOR & mehr

In wenigen Tagen erscheint am 16.01.2026 das Debütalbum der spanischen Formation DISCERUPTUS. Die Death Metaller bringen die selbst veröffentlichte Langrille – mit exklusivem Vertrieb durch Abstract Emotions – mit dem Titel „Rebirth“ in den Handel. Zehn Songs wollen die fünf Herren auf die Scheibe packen und wir haben als Kostprobe heute „Morbid desire“ für euch parat:

Aus Schweden stammen dagegen die Herrschaften von HARROWED. Aber der Stil ist der gleiche. Auch hier wird Death Metal angestimmt. Am 27.02.2026 soll das Erstlingswerk namens „The eternal hunger“ über Dying Victims Productions erscheinen und wir stellen euch als einen Vorgeschmack „Blood covenant“ vor – Musik ab:

ORCHID THRONE sind dagegen in der Doom Metal Ecke angesiedelt. Beheimatet in Baltimore ist auch hier das Debütalbum angesagt. Das steht druckfrisch seit Freitag in den Regalen und hört auf den Namen „Buried in black“. Wir spielen euch mit „Ephemerality“ einen der sieben Tracks mit dem offiziellen Video vor. Bitte sehr:

Einer geht noch, sagt ihr? Dann gibt es jetzt die erste neue Musik von DAILY INSANITY seit 2022. Man hat sich den Frontmann der israelischen Band HAMMERCULT geschnappt und dabei ist die neue Single „Back to the front“ herausgekommen – nichts für schwache Nerven. Ab dafür:

Death Dealer haben ihren Nachfolger zu Conquered Lands fertiggestellt. Unser Review zu der Scheibe findet ihr hier. Bei Death Dealer handelt es sich um so etwas wie eine Supergroup. Die Protagonisten sind Ross the Boss (Ex-Manowar), Sean Peck, auch bekannt als Screamgott bei Cage und den Three Tremors, Mike LePond von Symphony X am Bass, Stu Marshall (Dungeon, Night Legion, Arkenstone) und Steve Bolognese (Ross the Boss, Into Eternity) am Schlagzeug. Was bei der Zusammenstellung herauskommt lässt sich bereits erahnen.

Fuel Injected Suicide Machine

Das neue Album ist leider nur eine EP, welche fünf Stücke enthält. Genauer gesagt ein Intro und vier Songs. Die Band wollte nach ihrem erfolgreichen Conquered Lands Album die Fans nicht allzu lange auf neue Musik warten lassen. In der Covid Zeit hat die Band nicht nur diese EP aufgenommen, denn es waren bereits viele Songs geschrieben, sie haben auch LP Nummer vier bereits im Kasten und Nummer fünf fast fertig. Wow, das nenne ich fleißig. Keiner der Songs der EP wird auf dem nächsten Longplayer erscheinen, sodass man keine Angst haben muss, das hier etwas doppelt verkauft wird.

US Metal

Death Dealer spielen schnellen und harten Metal mit gelegentlichen Thrash anleihen. Nach dem Intro gibt es mit „Fuel injected suicide Machine“ schon eine Vollbedienung. Der perfekte Opener. Fette Riffs, schnelle Gitarrenläufe und Doublebass. Darüber die Sirene von Sean Peck. „Freedom is not a Crime“ ist da eher im Midtempo gehalten und hat einen klasse Refrain, der sich bestimmt live gut rüberbringen lässt. „Hey, hey, start a Revolution„.

„Blood for Gasoline“ ballert da wieder um einige BPM schneller aus den Boxen. An sich auch kein schlechter Song, jedoch geht mir persönlich die Wiederholung des Refrains ein wenig auf die Nerven. Mit „Invasion“ verabschiedet man sich dann wieder im unteren Tempo von der EP. Cooler old schooliger Metal Song.

Fazit

Das Album Cover wurde von Marc Sasso entworfen und sieht geil aus. Eine Actionszene wie aus Mad Max. Dieses düstere Weltbild spiegelt sich auch in den Songtexten wieder. Sehr gut gespielter Metal, wie man es auch bei den mitwirkenden Musikern erwartet. Dazu noch eine moderne Produktion, die durch lautes Abspielen noch mehr Spaß bereitet. Death Dealer haben hier alles richtig gemacht. Auch hier wird auf altbewährtes gesetzt. Überraschungen sucht man vergebens, aber wer will das auch. Ich freue mich schon auf das nächste komplette Album und noch mehr auf eine Liveshow.

Streaming

Freude der Streamingdienste schauen hier in die Röhre. Nur ein Song wird dort zur Verfügung gestellt. Death Dealer machen Musik für Fans, die die Musik lieben und auch unterstützen, sagt Ross the Boss. Auf Steel Cartel findet man die EP jedoch in verschieden Formen und verschiedenen Covers. Tolle Sache für die Sammler unter uns. Schaut mal rein.

DEATH DEALER has announced the upcoming release of a new EP titled FUEL INJECTED SUICIDE MACHINE (the second Steel Cartel Records product to implement the variant cover art vinyl product). The band features Ross The Boss (Ex-MANOWAR, ROSS THE BOSS BAND, DICTATORS), Sean Peck (CAGE, THE THREE TREMORS, DENNER/SHERMANN, WARRIOR), Mike Lepond (SYMPHONY-X, STEEL ASSASSINS), Stu Marshall (DUNGEON, NIGHT LEGION, ARKENSTONE), and Steve Bolognese (ROSS THE BOSS, INTO ETERNITY) and is coming off of their successful 3rd full-length release of the award-winning album CONQUERED LANDS.

The new EP release features 4 new songs of pure heavy metal goodness, and stunning cover artwork by Marc Sasso (DIO, HALFORD, ADRENELINE MOB, CAGE) and is being released on Vinyl and Digipak FEBRUARY 25th worldwide on STEEL CARTEL RECORDS. Video

The title track can be heard here via an insane lyric video that really sets the tone for the entire 4 song journey. The theme of the record harkens back to the MAD MAX series of movies and tales of survival in a dystopian future.

Mike Lepond said “We had such a powerful positive reaction from our last record, that we felt we should get something out sooner rather than later. We had so much material written and recorded that were able to get an EP ready that is amazing sounding.”

Sean followed up by saying “I am really stoked on how the EP came out it is a great mix of heavy speed songs and classic Death Dealer mid-tempo head bangers too. The packaging again is stunning looking with custom artwork everywhere and some cool new collector’s elements we have included in the pre-order options.”

Stu Marshall said “We stayed extremely busy during all the COVID bullshit and I happy to formally announce not only is the EP here now, and the songs on the EP will NOT appear on any upcoming releases, but the 4th album is completely done and the 5th album is almost finished as well. Haaa,it was crazy how the lads and I really grinded out what I feel is our finest metal to date during that period. After all we had plenty of time on our hands so why not make more heavy metal?”

Death Dealer haben nach fünfjähriger Pause ihr drittes Album auf die Bangergemeinde losgelassen. Wer sind Death Dealer, fragen sich da bestimmt einige. Death Dealer ist, wie man heute so schön sagt, eine Supergroup. Namhafte Musiker haben sich hier zu einer Band zusammengetan. Allen voran Ross the Boss, wohl am ehesten bekannt als früherer Gitarrist von Manowar, Mike LePond, bekannt, die Basssaiten bei Symphony X zu zupfen und Sean Peck, der bei Cage und den Three Tremors seine Stimmbänder in ungeahnte Höhen katapultiert. Des Weiteren sind noch Drummer Steve Bolognese, der in der Soloband von Ross the Boss spielt und Stu Marshall von Dungeon und Night Legion mit an Bord.

Conquered Lands

Die neue Scheibe hört auf den Namen „Conquered Lands“ und dürfte wohl dem Geschmack vieler US-Metal Fans entsprechen. Der Titeltrack „Sorcerer Supreme“ kann mit einem orientalisch angehauchten Gitarrenintro aufwarten, bevor die Double Bass von Steve Bolognese einsetzt und alles kurz und klein macht. Obendrauf noch die erstklassige, in hohen Lagen angesiedelte Stimme von Sean Peck. Fertig ist ein geiler US-Metal Song. Guter Einstieg in die Scheibe.
„Every Nation“ und „Beauty and the Blood“ behalten die Geschwindigkeit bei. Letzterem wurde ein narratives, düsteres Intro spendiert. Die folgenden drei Powerchords leiten die nächste Highspeedfahrt ein.

Old School

„Running with the Wolves“ ändert die Stilrichtung zum traditionellen Metal hin. Das Eingangsriff hätte auch gut und gerne auf einer frühen Veröffentlichung von Accept sein können. Old School durch und durch. Textlich gesehen handelt der Song von der Beziehung zwischen Band und Publikum, Liveauftritten und Spaß. Dinge, die in dieser Zeit von allen schmerzlich vermisst werden. Ross und Stu spielen ein tolles zweistimmiges Solo, welches den Song gut abrundet. Den Endpunkt setzt Sean Peck mit einem Scream, der Gläser zu Bruch bringen kann. „Running with the Wolves“ ist das erste Highlight der Scheibe und erinnert sehr an die gute alte Zeit von Manowar.

Nächster Glanzpunkt ist für mich „Conquered Lands“, dessen fettes Introriff mich stimmungsmäßig nach Ägypten versetzt und mich auch an Rainbows „Gates of Babylon“ denken lässt. Der schleppende Sound ist ein wahrer Headbanger und Mike LePond spielt Akkorde auf dem Bass, die wie einst Joey de Maio zur besten Manowar Zeit, Akzente setzen. Einfach nur geil. So muss Metal klingen. „Hail to the King“ könnte auch auf der Setlist von Cage stehen. Schöner Mitgrölrefrain.

„Slay or be Slain“ und „Faith under Fire“ setzen wieder auf das altbewährte Geschwindigkeitsrezept. Das folgende „22 gone today“ ist eine reinrassige Metalballade mit ernstem Text. „Born to bear the Crown“ ist der letzte Song auf „Conquered Lands“ und bildet einen würdigen Abschluss.

Fazit

Was Death Dealer hier zustande gebracht haben, ist lupenreiner US-Metal. Treibende Drums, die Stimme von Sean Peck agressiv und oftmals in höchsten Sphären, Mike LePonds fabelhaftes Bassspiel und zwei Gitarristen, die ein fettes Riff nach dem anderen abfeuern. Die Soli oft Old-schoolig metalig bis malmsteenlike neoklassisch shreddig. Death Dealer machen hier alles richtig. Was auf den ersten Höreindruck vielmals gleichtönig wirkt, erschließt sich bei den nächsten Durchläufen doch differenzierter als gedacht und macht ordentlich Spaß. Soundtechnisch ist „Conquered Lands“ auch auf der Höhe der Zeit, was unweigerlich zum Aufdrehen des Volumereglers an der Anlage führen könnte. Das Teil werde ich noch einige Male im Player rotieren lassen.
