DEE SNIDER mit „For The Love Of Metal Live“

Das Live-Album wird den Titel „For The Love Of Metal Live“ tragen und am 31.07.2020 via Napalm Records veröffentlicht werden. Das Album wurde in verschiedenen Orten weltweit mitgeschnitten und wird neben DEE SNIDER Solo-Songs wie “I Am The Hurricane” und “For The Love Of Metal” auch TWISTED SISTER-Klassiker à la“I Wanna Rock” und “We’re Not Gonna Take It” und eine Cover-Version vom AC/DC-Hit „Highway To Hell“ enthalten. Das Album wird in verschiedenen Audio CD/DVD/BluRay-Formaten erscheinen. Je nach Format gibt es dabei reichlich Bonus-Material.

DEE SNIDER Statement:

While live entertainment has been curtailed for now, we cannot let the spirit of live entertainment die within us. Any music I’ve ever loved and listened to, I always imagine what it would be like live. When I was young and couldn’t go to shows, all I had was what I thought the bands would be like live. We must keep our desire to see and hear the great new music out there in concert, because that’s its true habitat.  Bands on stage with fans cheering them on in the audience is the way the rock gods intended it to be.

„Prove Me Wrong“

Auch einen neuen Studio-Song bekommen wir präsentiert. „Prove Me Wrong“ lautet der Titel und DEE SNIDER äußert sich dazu wie folgt:

‚Prove Me Wrong’ are words that I’ve thought in my head since the day I began rocking. I had a monster chip on my shoulder and dared the world to knock it off… nobody ever could. At this point in my career I thought I’d let everybody in on what has kept be going all these many years. Prove me wrong!

The response to For the Love of Metal was so strong, and my new band so good, that I wanted to capture ‘Dee Snider’ for the new millennium. All of my other live concert releases are all about the past. And while my past is represented here, it is presented along with my new music, played by my new band and is very much ‘in the now’. The included interviews give insight into my world, my journey and my evolution since I started nearly 50 years ago.

Hintergründe zu „For The Love Of Metal“

HATEBREED-Fronter Jamey Jasta hatte den guten Dee in seiner Radioshow aufgefordert, ein „echtes“ Metal-Album zu veröffentlichen. Den Worten folgten Taten und so übernahm Jamey dann auch gleich mal die Produktion des Albums. Als Studiogäste waren Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage), Mark Morton (Lamb Of God), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Joel Grind und Nick Bellmore (Toxic Holocaust) sowie Charlie Bellmore (Kingdom Of Sorrow) mit von der Partie. Bei so viel Prominenz am Werk sollte das Ergebnis doch eigentlich passen, oder?

Modernes Soundgewand für den „älteren“ Herren

Jamey Jasta ist es gelungen „For The Love Of Metal“ ein modernes Soundgewand zu verpassen. Äußerst druckvoll und energisch dröhnt es aus den Boxen. Die Stimme des immerhin bereits 63-jährigen Barden klingt kraftvoll und energisch als wäre der gute Dee Snider in einen Jungbrunnen gefallen. Der Opener „Lies Are A Business“ zündet sofort und bis zum fünften (textlich etwas schlüpfrigem) Track „Roll Over You“ reiht sich Kracher an Kracher. Als Beispiel stellen wir euch hier das offizielle Video zum Song „I Am The Hurricane“ (der Titel ist Programm) vor:

Die folgenden 3 Titel sind nicht schlecht, können bei mir aber auch keine echte Euphorie entfachen, bevor mit „Become The Storm“ wieder ein echter Knaller folgt. Zum Glück gibt es auch hierzu ein offizielles Video, das wir euch natürlich nicht vorenthalten wollen:

Gefühlvoll mit Alissa White-Gluz

Besonders angepriesen wurde im Vorfeld der gemeinsame Song mit Arch Enemy Shouterin Alissa White-Gluz. Bei  Dead Hearts (Love Thy Enemy) handelt es sich um eine gefühlvolle Nummer, bei der Dee überraschender Weise den aggressiveren Gesangspart übernimmt, während Alissa mit Klargesang für die sanften Töne verantwortlich ist. Die Stimmen der Beiden harmonieren hervorragend und nach mehrmaligem Hören hat sich der Titel zu einem meiner persönlichen Favoriten entwickelt. Der abschließende Titelsong ist eine Hymne vom Feinsten, die mich am ehesten an Dees Ex-Band TWISTED SISTER erinnert.

DEE SNIDER ist zurück im Metal

Mit „For The Love OF Metal“ ist Dee Snider eine 100-Prozentige Steigerung zu seinem letzten Soloalbum gelungen. Auch wenn mich nicht jeder Song total vom Hocker haut, muss man doch festhalten, dass keine wirklichen Ausfälle zu verzeichnen sind, dafür aber eine ganze Anzahl erstklassiger Metalsongs. TWISTED SISTER-Fans, die sich nach dem letzten Solowerk von Dee enttäuscht abgewendet haben, sollten dem neuen Album definitiv eine Chance geben. Aber auch alle anderen Fans von modernem Metal sollten hier unbedingt einmal reinhören. Dee Snider gehört ganz sicher noch nicht zum alten Eisen und nach diesem Werk kann man nur hoffen, dass er noch lange im Geschäft bleibt.
