INFECTED RAIN (Facebook / Homepage ) haben es geschafft. Sie sind den harten Weg einer Undergroundband bis zu einer erfolgreichen angesagten Band gegangen. Mit ihrem modernen Metal treffen sie den Nerv der Zeit. Dazu hat sicherlich vor allem Frontfrau Lena Scissorhands als sehr ausdrucksstarke Persönlichkeit beigetragen, die mit ihrer wahnsinnigen Präsenz quasi Dreh- und Angelpunkt der Band ist. Deswegen hat sie auch schon in einigen anderen Projekten mitgewirkt oder tut es noch (z.B. ‚Death Dealer Union‘)

Das letzte Album „Ecdysis“ war eine verdammt starke Vorstellung (Review). Gar nicht so einfach da noch einen draufzusetzen. „Postmortem Pt. 1“ ist für mich immer noch einer der stärksten Songs von INFECTED RAIN überhaupt. Also bin ich mal sehr gespannt, was die neue Scheibe „Time“ zu bieten hat.

„Because I Let You“ hat die Ehre das Album einzuleiten. INFECTED RAIN schmeißen sich direkt mit voller Power ins Geschehen. Ja, dafür lieben wir die Band. Diese ungeheure Energie, welche völlig ungezügelt freigelassen wird, ist hochexplosiv. Ein Markenzeichen des Sounds ist, dass neben der aggressiven Ader auch immer Platz für atmosphärische Elemente und Passagen sein muss. Diese Mischung wird auch wieder bei „Because I Let You“ perfekt ausbalanciert. INFECTED RAIN stehen für intensive Kontraste, die keinen kalt lassen.

Starke Entwicklung

Die gesangliche Entwicklung von Lena über die Jahre ist in der Tat bemerkenswert. Sie hat sich stetig verbessert und weiterentwickelt. Die extremen Vocals hat sie schon sehr früh sehr gut gemeistert und schnell perfektioniert. Die cleanen Vocals waren früher die Ausnahme, aber ich erinnere nur mal an den Song „Storm“, der eine Kostprobe davon gab, was Lena auch im gefühlvollen gesanglichen Bereich möglich macht. Hier ist auch ein Fortschritt zu verzeichnen und die cleanen Vocals werden mittlerweile häufiger unterschiedlich eingesetzt.

„Lighthouse“ und „Game Of Blame“ seien in diesem Zusammenhang genannt, da diese Songs vorrangig von cleanen Vocals dominiert werden und am wenigsten aggressiv auftreten. Damit lockern sie das ganze Konstrukt ein wenig auf, was ich ganz und gar nicht verkehrt finde. Sie sind mal anders aufgebaut. Die extremen Vocals werden nur spärlich eingesetzt.

Eine interessante Mixtur ergibt sich ebenfalls beim Song „Never To Return“. Ein düsterer Song, bei dem folkloristische abendländische Töne zu vernehmen sind, die ich zwar nicht einordnen kann, aber sich sehr cool anhören. Die geben dem Song einen unheimlichen, mysteriösen Touch.

Spürbare Atmosphäre

Der Sound spielt weiterhin mit elektronischen Elementen und diese werden auf diesem Album mehr als bisher eingesetzt, und zwar in unterschiedlicher Art und Weise bzw. verschieden dosiert. Dazu bedienen sich INFECTED RAIN weiterer Ideen, um den Sound variabel zu gestalten. So kann man sicherlich behaupten, dass „Time“ sich so vielfältig präsentiert wie kein Album zuvor. Der Song „Dying Light“ wird mit Synthwave-Elementen gespickt, die erst noch zurückhaltend im Hintergrund agieren, doch dann sogar für sich alleine eine Passage im Song beanspruchen (ab Minute 02:25).

Auch bei „Vivarium“ spielen Synhties eine besondere Rolle und beim Refrain hat man das Gefühl, als ob diese aus einem Horrorfilm stammen könnten. Es erzeugt jedenfalls eine besondere Aura. Für die Fans der alten Alben von INFECTED RAIN könnte die modernere Ausrichtung vielleicht Probleme bereiten. Ich begrüße diese Entwicklung jedenfalls, die für mich einen Fortschritt darstellt, da der Sound für mich nicht an Härte verloren, dafür aber an Vielfältigkeit und Atmosphäre gewonnen hat. Damit hebt man sich wohltuend von der Masse ab.

Fazit

INFECTED RAIN ist mit „Time“ ein großartiges Album gelungen. Sie haben damit tatsächlich ihr bestes Album erschaffen. Mit einem ausgeklügelten Soundkonzept erfreuen INFECTED RAIN die Fans mit dem vielfältigsten Album ihrer Karriere, dass durch eine wunderbare Bandbreite an musikalischer Kunst im Bereich Modern Metalcore für Begeisterung sorgt. Jeder Song ist einzigartig und unverwechselbar INFECTED RAIN!

Mit diesem Highlight haben sich INFECTED RAIN jetzt schon für die Alben-Toplist 2024 empfohlen und sind ein heißer Kandidat für das beste Album im Bereich Modern Metal. Es dürfte schwer zu übertreffen sein.

INFECTED RAIN (Facebook / Homepage ) have made it. They have gone the hard way from an underground band to a successful hip band. Front woman Lena Scissorhands has a very expressive personality, who with her insane presence is virtually the linchpin of the band. That’s why she has also been involved in several other projects (e.g. ‚Death Dealer Union‘)

The last album „Ecdysis“ was a damn strong performance (review). It’s not that easy to go one better. For me, „Postmortem Pt. 1“ is still one of INFECTED RAIN’s strongest songs ever. So I’m very curious to see what the new album „Time“ has to offer.

Explosive

„Because I Let You“ has the honor of introducing the album. INFECTED RAIN throw themselves straight into the action with full power. Yes, we love the band for that. This tremendous energy, which is released completely unbridled, is highly explosive. A trademark of the sound is that there always has to be room for atmospheric elements and passages alongside the aggressive vein. This mixture is again perfectly balanced on „Because I Let You“. INFECTED RAIN stand for intense contrasts that leave no one unimpressed.

Strong progression

Lena’s vocal development over the years has indeed been remarkable. She has constantly improved and developed. She mastered the extreme vocals very early on and quickly perfected them. The clean vocals used to be the exception, but I’ll just remind you of the song „Storm“, which gave a taste of what Lena can do in the emotional vocal range. There has also been progress here and the clean vocals are now used more often in different ways.

„Lighthouse“ and „Game Of Blame“ should be mentioned in this context, as these songs are primarily dominated by clean vocals and are the least aggressive. This loosens up the whole construct a little, which I don’t think is bad at all. They have a different structure. The extreme vocals are only used sparingly.

The song „Never To Return“ is also an interesting mixture. A dark song with folkloristic sounds that I can’t place but sound very cool. They give the song an eerie, mysterious touch.

dense atmosphere

The sound continues to play with electronic elements and these are used more on this album than before, in different ways and in different doses. INFECTED RAIN also make use of other ideas to make the sound more variable. So it can certainly be said that „Time“ is more diverse than any album before it. The song „Dying Light“ is peppered with synthwave elements, which at first act cautiously in the background, but then even claim a passage in the song for themselves (from minute 02:25).

Synhties also play a special role in „Vivarium“ and the chorus gives you the feeling that it could have come from a horror movie. It certainly creates a special aura. For fans of INFECTED RAIN’s old albums, the more modern direction might cause problems. In any case, I welcome this development, which for me represents progress, as the sound has not lost any of its heaviness, but has gained in diversity and atmosphere. This sets them pleasantly apart from the crowd.

Conclusion

INFECTED RAIN have created a magnificent album with „Time“. They have actually created their best album. With a sophisticated sound concept, the fans can enjoy the most diverse album of their career, which provides excitement with a wonderful range of musical art in the field of modern metalcore. Every song is unique and unmistakably INFECTED RAIN!

With this highlight, INFECTED RAIN have already recommended themselves for the 2024 album top list and are a hot candidate for the best album in modern metal. It should be hard to beat.

INFECTED RAIN (Facebook / Homepage ) stammen aus Moldawien und können bereits auf eine 13-jährige Bandgeschichte zurückblicken. Und die Karriere nimmt richtig Fahrt auf. Sie haben sich mittlerweile eine sehr beachtliche Fanbase erspielt. Die Fans konnten es gar nicht erwarten, dass das neue Jahr beginnt, denn das neue Album „Ecdysis“ wird am 07.01.2022 erscheinen. Das INFECTED RAIN auch live überzeugen können, habe ich bei einem Streaming Event am 26.11.2021 erfahren dürfen. Die Band besticht durch eine ungeheure Energie, allen voran Lena Scissorhands als Sängerin. Wer den Bericht noch nicht kennt, der sollte sich diesen dringend anschauen, damit man weiß, wovon ich hier eigentlich schreibe. (Konzertbericht „The Devils Dozen“ hier)

„Postmortem Pt. 1“

war die erste Singleauskopplung. Ein unfassbar starker Song! Dieser Song hat mich direkt zu der Vorhersage verleitet, dasss „Ecdysis“ das erste Highlight werden wird. Denn ich war von dem ersten Video mehr als überwältigt. Ein exzellenter Song, der famos in Szene gesetzt wurde. Nach wie vor gehört dieser Song zu meinen absoluten Lieblingen auf dem Album. Der Song hat Atmosphäre und Power bis zum Abwinken. Und bei all der Kraft darf bei INFECTED RAIN diese herzzerreißende Komponente zwischendurch nicht fehlen. Besser kann man ein Album nicht einleiten.

Mit wilder Kraft

haut Euch dieses Album aus den Latschen. Zurückhaltung war noch nie so das große Ding von INFECTED RAIN. Da geht es meistens mit Vollgas durch die Wand. Der Sound spielt mit elektronischen Elementen ohne diesen Sound damit zu überladen. Er wird eher nur zur atmosphärischen Gestaltung der kosmischen Soundwelten eingesetzt. Im Vordergrund steht zumeist die wilde Entladung der Protagonisten an den Instrumenten und am Mikro. Apropos Mikro…. Lena als Sängerin der Band hat eine sehr gute Entwicklung beim Gesang durchgemacht. Dies ist mir schon bei dem Streaming-Konzert aufgefallen. Die ruhigeren Momente fallen ziemlich spärlich aus, sind aber durchaus vorhanden und gleichfalls ein Merkmal im Sound. Aber die Definiton von „ruhig“ ist natürlich von Band zu Band unterschiedlich ausgelegt.

Beim Song „Goodbye“ ist diese Sache auch sehr gut gelöst worden, denn die cleanen Vocals werden wunderbar eingesetzt. Eine sehr gute Kombination zwischen der martialischen und melodischen Seite bei den Vocals, die für packende und wohltuende Abwechslung sorgt.

Power im Doppelpack

Lena hat die Energie eines Hurricanes und hat Verstärkung eigentlich nicht nötig. Allerdings bricht beim Song „The Realm Of Chaos“ eine zusätzliche Gewitterfront über Euch herein. Heidi Shepherd von den BUTCHER BABIES gesellt sich hinzu und beide Frauen entfesseln ein vernichtendes Chaos. Aber wer lässt sich von diesem Unwetter nicht gerne heimsuchen. Im Video bieten die zwei Powerfrauen neben der akustischen Entfesselung auch ein beeindruckendes optisches Highlight.

Es gibt kein Entkommen

Der Sound von INFECTED RAIN infiziert! Wenn ich mir so einen Song wie „These Walls“ reinziehe, dann bekomme ich Gänsehaut. Diese explosive Mischung, welche teilweise in epische Gefilde abdriftet, hat einfach das gewisse Etwas. Alles in allem bin ich sehr begeistert von dem Album. Lena hat wie bereits angesprochen nicht nur die harten Vocals drauf. Sie kann auch sehr gut gefühlvoll agieren. Das habe ich auf dem Streaming Konzert „The Devils Dozen“ hören dürfen. Eine wunderschöne sphärische Ballade, die eine Welt von träumerischen friedvollen Synthies erzeugt, durch die die zarte Stimme von Lena wie ein Vogel auf gefühlvollen Schwingen gleitet. Dies war auch ein Highlight bei „The Devils Dozen“ Zwar gibt es seine solche Ballade nicht auf dem neuen Album (der Song „Nin,Ten“ kommt dem wohl noch am nächsten), aber

Lenas zarte melodische Stimme

wird in die Songs immer wieder eingewoben. Sie erzeugen inmitten der brutalen Angriffe Momente von zarter Verletzlichkeit oder haben eine verzweifelte flehende Ausstrahlung. Dies wir z.B. auch beim Song „Everlasting Lethargy“ hervorragend demonstriert. „Postmortem Pt. 2“ macht das in seinem Beginn sehr schön, bevor der Song in die kraftvolle Phase eintritt und im weiteren Verlauf ein tolles Wechselspiel mit den melodisch cleanen Parts geboten wird.

Kämpfer

mussten alle von INFECTED RAIN schon immer sein. Der Weg zum Erfolg war kein einfacher. Man hat sich durch alle Widrigkeiten gekämpft, bandtechnische und persönliche Kämpfe ausgefochten. Mit dem Song „Fighter“ haben INFECTED RAIN einen mächtigen K.O.-Schlag auf dem Album. Der Song prügelt gnadenlos und bedient sich brutaler angriffslustiger Tempopassagen, die unbarmherzig zuschlagen.

Lena als Songtexterin offenbart ihre eigene Gedanken -und Gefühlswelt in den Songs. Ihr hat die Musik wie vielen anderen auch durch die dunkelsten Phasen des Lebens geholfen. Musik ist Magie und diese möchte auch INFECTED RAIN mit ihren Fans teilen. Und das funktioniert großartig!

Fazit

Zum Glück haben INFECTED RAIN meine Prognose nicht enttäuscht. „Ecdysis“ ist das erste fette Highlight des Jahres und die Fans werden begeistert sein. Und die Fangemeinde sollte sich weiter vergrößern, denn INFECTED RAIN stehen den Szenegrößen wie JINJER in nichts nach. Der Sound von INFECTED RAIN ist dabei sehr charakteristisch und hat einen Wiedererkennungswert. „Ecdysis“ ist die konsequente und imposante Fortsetzung einer Reise, mit der INFECTED RAIN einen weiteren Berg erklommen haben und stolz auf die Welt blicken dürfen.

INFECTED RAIN erweitern ihr Repertoire um viele zusätzliche Songs, mit denen sie die Bühnen der Welt erbeben lassen können. Fans der Band werden das tolle Album ohnehin frenetisch abfeiern. Und die anderen, die INFECTED RAIN noch nicht kennen und auf Bands wie JINJER oder SPIRITBOX stehen, sollten auf jeden Fall mal reinhören.

INFECTED RAIN (Facebook / Homepage) come from Moldova and can already look back on a 13-year band history. And so their career really took off. In the meantime, they have gained a very considerable fan base. Fans couldn’t wait for the new year to start, because the new album „Ecdysis“ will be released 2022-01-07. That INFECTED RAIN can also convince live, I was able to experience at a streaming event on 26.11.2021. The band captivates with a tremendous energy, especially Lena Scissorhands as the singer. „Postmortem Pt. 1“

was the first single release. An incredibly strong song! This song has led me directly to the prediction that „Ecdysis“ will be the first highlight. Because I was more than overwhelmed by the first video. An excellent song, which was famously staged. This cracker is still one of my absolute favorites on the album. It has atmosphere and power to the bone. And with all the power INFECTED RAIN must not miss this heartbreaking component in between. There is no better way to introduce an album!

With wild force

this album will knock your socks off. Restraint has never been the big thing of INFECTED RAIN. Most of the time it goes full throttle. The sound plays with electronic elements without overloading the soundscape. It is rather used for the atmospheric design of the cosmic sound worlds. In the foreground is mostly the wild discharge of the protagonists on the instruments and on the mic. Speaking of micro…. Lena as the singer of the band has undergone a very good development in singing. I noticed this already at the streaming concert. The quieter moments are quite sparse, but are definitely present and equally a feature in the sound. But the definition of „quiet“ is of course different from band to band.

In the song „Goodbye“ this thing has also been solved very well, because the clean vocals are used wonderfully. A very good combination between the martial and melodic side in the vocals, which provides gripping and soothing variety.

Double power

Lena has the energy of a hurricane and doesn’t really need reinforcement. However, during the song „The Realm Of Chaos“ an additional storm front breaks over you. Heidi Shepherd from the BUTCHER BABIES joins in and both women unleash a devastating chaos. But who doesn’t like to be haunted by this storm. In the video, the two power women offer an impressive visual highlight in addition to the acoustic unleashing.

There is no escape

The sound of INFECTED RAIN infects! When I listen to a song like „These Walls“, I get goosebumps. This explosive mixture, which sometimes drifts into epic realms, simply has that special character. All in all, I am very enthusiastic about the album. Lena has not only the hard vocals on it. She can also act very well soulfully. I was able to hear that on the streaming concert „The Devils Dozen“. A beautiful spherical ballad that creates a world of dreamy peaceful synths through which Lena’s delicate voice sails like a bird on soulful wings. This was also a highlight on „The Devils Dozen“ While such ballad does not exist on the new album (the song „Nine,Ten“ is probably still the closest to it), but

Lena’s delicate melodic voice

is woven into the songs again and again. They create moments of tender vulnerability in the midst of the brutal attacks or have a desperate pleading charisma. This is also demonstrated excellently in the song „Everlasting Lethargy“. „Postmortem Pt. 2“ does this very nicely in its beginning, before the song enters the powerful phase and in the further course a great interplay with the melodic clean parts is offered.

Fighter

all members of INFECTED RAIN have always had to be. The road to success was not an easy one. They have fought through all adversities, band and personal battles. With the song „Fighter“ INFECTED RAIN have a powerful knockout punch on the album. The song beats mercilessly and makes use of brutal attacking tempo passages that strike mercilessly.

Lena as a songwriter reveals her own thoughts and feelings in the songs. Like many others, music has helped her through the darkest phases of life. Music is magic and INFECTED RAIN wants to share this with their fans. And that works great!

Conclusion

Fortunately INFECTED RAIN did not disappoint my prediction. „Ecdysis“ is the first fat highlight of the year and the fans will be thrilled. And the fan base should continue to grow, because INFECTED RAIN are in no way inferior to the scene greats like JINJER. The sound of INFECTED RAIN is very characteristic and has a recognition value. „Ecdysis“ is the consistent and imposing continuation of a journey where INFECTED RAIN have climbed another mountain and can look at the world with pride.

INFECTED RAIN expand their repertoire with many additional songs with which they can make the stages of the world tremble. Fans of the band will frenetically celebrate the great album „Ecdysis“ anyway. And the others, who don’t know INFECTED RAIN yet and are into bands like JINJER or SPIRITBOX, should definitely give it a listen.

Grandioses Event! Darf man nicht verpassen,

wenn man auf endgeilen Modern Metal steht, der es einem richtig hart und düster besorgt! INFECTED RAIN (Facebook) aus Moldawien sind eine Band, die auf jeden Fall Aufsehen erregt. Dies liegt zum einen an der sehr charismatischen und extrovertierten Frontfrau Lena Scissorhands, sondern auch zum anderen an ihrem krassen Sound. Im Januar wird das neue Album „Ecdysis“ veröffentlicht werden und ich verspreche nicht zuviel, indem ich einfach behaupte, dass es das erste fette Highlight des Jahres 2022 werden wird.

Warum?

Nun, ich hatte im Oktober bereits die erste Single „Postmortem Pt.1“ vorgestellt. Dieses Biest von einem Song ist ein extravagantes Metal-Erlebnis, dass ganz verschiedene Soundelemente in sich vereint und zu einem unglaublichen Event werden lässt. Die Single arbeitet mit sphärischen Elementen, die diesen Song ruhig einleiten. Doch ganz plötzlich gibt es einen harten Schnitt und Lena rasiert die Ruhe mit ihrem martialischen Screams weg. Einfach nur geil! Monströs, herzzerreißend, melodisch, träumerisch…. Mega! Mit weit über 320.000 Aufrufen ist das Video daher gut eingeschlagen!

Pulver verschossen?

Oh nein! Ganz und gar nicht! Denn INFECTED RAIN haben vor kurzem ihre zweite Single „Fighter“ rausgehauen. Das kann man sehr gerne wörtlich nehmen, denn hier zeigt Lena ihre schlagkräftige Seite und nebenbei eine erstaunliche Verwandlung. Mehr möchte ich hier nicht verraten. Schaut es Euch an und lasst Euch mitreißen! Selten so eine brutale Entladung von explosiver Energie gesehen und gehört! Voll krasser Scheiß!

Die Band gibt es tatsächlich bereits seit 13 Jahren. Anlässlich des neuen Albums „Ecdysis“ hat man sich etwas besonderes einfallen lassen. „The Devil’s Dozen“ ist nicht nur ein herkömmliches Streaming Event, sondern man taucht dabei in die Geschichte der Band ein, die im Rahmen einer spannenden und unterhaltsamen Dokumentation aufgearbeitet wird. INFECTED RAIN (Facebook) from Moldova are a band that definitely causes a stir. This is due to the very charismatic and extroverted frontwoman Lena Scissorhands on the one hand, but also on the other hand due to their blatant sound. On 07 January the new album „Ecdysis“ will be released and I do not promise too much by simply claiming that it will be the first fat highlight of the year 2022.

Why?

Well, I already presented the first single „Postmortem Pt.1“ in October. This beast of a song is an extravagant metal experience that combines very different sound elements and makes it an incredible experience. The single works with spherical elements that calmly introduce this song. But suddenly there is a hard cut and Lena shaves away the calm with her martial screams. Simply awesome! Monstrous, heartbreaking, melodic, dreamy…. Mega! With well over 320,000 views, the video is therefore well hit!

No more to give?

Oh no! Not at all! Because INFECTED RAIN have recently released their second single „Fighter“. This can be taken literally, because here Lena shows her punchy side and besides an amazing transformation. I don’t want to reveal more here. Just watch it and let yourself be carried away! Rarely seen and heard such a brutal discharge of explosive energy! Holy crap!

INFECTED RAIN has actually been around for 13 years.
