Germany’s Thrash Metallers BONDED are pleased to announce the worldwide release of their sophomore album “Into Blackness” on November 12^th, 2021 via Century Media Records.
 
BONDED, the group by former Sodom members Bernd “Bernemann” Kost (Guitars) and Markus “Makka” Freiwald (Drums) alongside second guitarist Chris Tsitsis (ex-Suicidal Angels), bassist Marc Hauschild and vocalist Ingo Bajonczak (Assassin), have decided to stick to their guns and once again collaborated with producer Cornelius Rambadt (Sodom, Disbelief, Onkel Tom) at the Rambado Recording Studio in Essen, Germany and also had Björn Gooßes / Killustrations (Aborted, The Crown, Carnal Forge) create the album’s artwork (To be seen above!), just like on their critically acclaimed “Rest In Violence” debut album from 2020, which entered the official album charts in Germany at # 84.
 
A first single for “Into Blackness” has been released today and “Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night” can be seen in a lyric clip designed by Cloud Music Typography here:

BONDED checked in with the following comment about the track: “We are happy and proud to present you a first song of the upcoming BONDED album “Into Blackness”. Entitled “Into The Blackness Of A Wartime Night”, this track contains all of the musical trademarks by BONDED at once: It’s riff-oriented, fast, with plenty of tempo changes and displaying a permanent contrast between brutality and melody. The intense lead guitar dueling and above all the memorable, powerful vocal lines make this a great representation of the new album. And this song could almost be understood as the album’s title track, as it is lyrically part of the 4-track war-themed storyline centerpiece inspired by the fictional book “The Division Of The Damned” by Richard Rhys Jones. We hope you enjoy this first foretaste of the album…and look out, as there is more coming your way soon!”

Der erste Schlag aufs „Metal“ kam heute von SODOM Frontmann Tom Angelripper, der sich von Schlagzeuger Markus „Makka“ Freiwald und Gitarrist Bernd „Bernemann“ Kost trennt.

„Nach langer und reiflicher Überlegung habe ich mich zu diesem schweren Schritt entschieden, um die Weichen für die anstehenden neuen Herausforderungen zu stellen“, erklärt Tom. „Sodom haben immer vom Enthusiasmus und der Leidenschaft aller Beteiligten gelebt. Makka war fast acht Jahre, Bernemann sogar mehr als zwanzig Jahre dabei.“

Kreative Arbeit soll optimal gewährleistet werden

„Um einer möglichen Routine vorzubeugen, unter der die kreative Arbeit nicht optimal gewährleistet werden kann, möchte ich mit neuen hungrigen Musikern noch einmal voll angreifen. Gleichzeitig bedanke ich mich bei Bernemann und Makka für die vielen ereignisreichen Jahre, in denen wir tolle Shows gespielt und einige echte Metal-Pamphlete veröffentlicht haben.“ sagte Tom dazu.

Dass sich Routine ungünstig auf die kreative Arbeit der Band ausgewirkt haben soll, war dem letzten Album „Decision Day“ nicht anzumerken. Das Album schien gut durchdacht, vielleicht etwas eingängiger und runder als die Vorgänger, aber auf keinen Fall unkreativ. Auch das Jubiläumskonzert zum 35. Geburtstag der Band war ein voller Erfolg (HIER unser Bericht).

Alle Shows werden wie angekündigt stattfinden

Trotz der Trennung und der noch nicht geklärten Neubesetzung verspricht Tom, dass alle bisher angekündigten Shows wie geplant stattfinden.
Los geht es am 7.4. beim Full Metal Mountain. Bereits hier will er die neue Band vorstellen. Überlegt wird anscheinend auch, ob SODOM weiterhin als Trio auftreten oder ob es eine Erweiterung gibt.

Trio oder Quartett? Tom ist da für alles offen

„Diesbezüglich habe ich mich noch nicht endgültig festgelegt, sondern bin für alle Optionen offen. Ich werde jetzt erstmal in aller Ruhe die neuen Grundpfeiler der Band installieren und mich nach geeigneten Mitstreitern umsehen. Eines steht allerdings schon jetzt fest: Sodom werden noch stärker werden!“

Auch die Arbeiten am neuen Album, das über Steamhammer/SPV erscheinen wird, sollen zügig beginnen.

SPV freuen sich auf die zukünftige Zusammenarbeit  und dürfen eine bis in die Haarwurzeln motivierte Band erwarten.
