<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Genre: Modern Rock/Metal</h3>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">VÖ: 30.06.2023</h3>

<p><strong>LIFT THE CURSE</strong> (<a href="https://www.facebook.com/LiftTheCurse" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Facebook</a>) sind ein Duo aus Texas. <strong>Ryan Hegefeld &amp; Jon Yadon Jr.</strong> waren bei uns bereits mit ihrem Debütalbum &#8222;Rise With The Flames“vertreten (<a href="https://metal-heads.de/reviews/lift-the-curse-rise-with-the-flames-review/">Review</a>). </p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><a href="https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover.jpg"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" src="https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-150876" width="460" height="460" srcset="https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover.jpg 1024w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-300x300.jpg 300w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-150x150.jpg 150w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-768x768.jpg 768w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-80x80.jpg 80w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-320x320.jpg 320w" sizes="(max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px" /></a></figure></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Ansprechender Mix</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<div class="video-container"><iframe title="Lift The Curse - &quot;Tidal Wave&quot; (Official Music Video)" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LDQdvwoO-BQ?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
</div></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<div class="video-container"><iframe title="Lift The Curse - &quot;The Things We Don&#039;t Say&quot; (Official Music Video)" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_2yX8YrfJwY?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
</div></figure>

Like It&#8217;s Your Last)&#8220;</strong>.

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<div class="video-container"><iframe loading="lazy" title="Lift The Curse - &quot;Fight (Like It&#039;s Your Last)&quot; (Official Music Video)" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0kkHDeJfhLU?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
</div></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Einen Klassiker aufregend neu gestaltet</h3>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Fazit</h3>

<p><strong>LIFT THE CURSE legen mit ihrem neuen Album &#8222;Suffer And Survive&#8220; noch mal ne Schüppe drauf.

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Genre: Modern Rock/Metal</h3>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Release: 30.06.2023</h3>

<p><strong>LIFT THE CURSE</strong> (<a href="https://www.facebook.com/LiftTheCurse" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Facebook</a>) are a duo from Texas. <strong>Ryan Hegefeld &amp; Jon Yadon Jr.</strong> were already represented with their debut album &#8222;Rise With The Flames&#8220; (<a href="https://metal-heads.de/reviews/lift-the-curse-rise-with-the-flames-review/">Review</a>) . On it, they had put together all the singles released to date as a package. Already then the versatile quality of the duo was revealed. The sound ranges from rock to metal. Everything is implemented very well in terms of craftsmanship. This energetic duo has been very busy and has now released their new album &#8222;Suffer &amp; Survive&#8220; on June 30. The difference with the debut album is that the 15 songs were actually conceived for the album from the beginning. The cover I find already once appealing design.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><a href="https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover.jpg"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" src="https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-150876" width="460" height="460" srcset="https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover.jpg 1024w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-300x300.jpg 300w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-150x150.jpg 150w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-768x768.jpg 768w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-80x80.jpg 80w, https://metal-heads.de/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/LIFT-THE-CURSE-SUFFER-SURVIVE-Cover-320x320.jpg 320w" sizes="(max-width: 460px) 100vw, 460px" /></a></figure></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Appealing mix</h3>

<p>LIFT THE CURSE still combine different styles. Mostly they romp around in the rock area, but also cross the border to metal. After the intro, the opener &#8222;Tidal Wave&#8220; immediately shows what the duo is capable of. The song shines with beautiful vocal lines, which are excellently presented by Ryan. <strong>You can expect both soulful and powerful passages that combine to create a rousing mix. </strong>Also the <strong>guitar</strong> playing of Jon sounds damn good and <strong>fires up the sound with hot riffs and burning solos.</strong></p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<div class="video-container"><iframe title="Lift The Curse - &quot;Tidal Wave&quot; (Official Music Video)" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LDQdvwoO-BQ?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
</div></figure>

<p>The songs on the debut album were already really good and on &#8222;Suffer And Survive&#8220; some of the new songs seem even more mature and coherent. <strong>LIFT THE CURSE also like to show a happy side and that&#8217;s what the song &#8222;The Things We Don&#8217;t Say&#8220; stands for.</strong> A lively rocker that radiates positive vibes and would therefore be a perfect radio single.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<div class="video-container"><iframe title="Lift The Curse - &quot;The Things We Don&#039;t Say&quot; (Official Music Video)" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_2yX8YrfJwY?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
</div></figure>

<p>But I rather like the <strong>harder songs</strong> in the repertoire of LIFT THE CURSE, which always carry me away. And this includes<strong> for example</strong> the tracks<strong> &#8222;Closing The Wound&#8220; or also &#8222;Fight (Like It&#8217;s Your Last)&#8220;. </strong>Here, beautiful melodies are paired with neck-breaking parts, which is also concisely reflected in the vocals. Ryan can also belt out really nasty and brutal vocals. The burning <strong>guitar solos are always a pleasure</strong> and heat up the songs even more on the whole album.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<div class="video-container"><iframe loading="lazy" title="Lift The Curse - &quot;Fight (Like It&#039;s Your Last)&quot; (Official Music Video)" width="500" height="281" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0kkHDeJfhLU?feature=oembed&#038;wmode=opaque" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe></div>
</div></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">An exciting evergreen</h3>

<p>The duo even took the old evergreen &#8222;I Just Died In Your Arms Tonight&#8220; and gave it smart rocky vibes and thus clearly differs from the original. I think that&#8217;s a good thing. Not because I don&#8217;t like the original version, but because I like to expect a different musical direction from a cover and the band should put their stamp on the song. So this cover version does exactly that and captivates both with feeling and with a healthy hardness.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Some ballads on the album</h3>

<p>appeal to the soulful side. Ballads are a bit difficult for me, because they often bore me. But there are exceptions, of course. On this album, the <strong>closing track &#8222;Anxiety&#8220;</strong> is one that I can really get into. The soulful vocals of Ryan come into their own wonderfully here and the song manages to captivate me.<strong> The climax in the song, which slowly increases the intensity, is beautifully worked out. A wonderful conclusion for an album.</strong></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Conclusion</h3>

<p><strong>LIFT THE CURSE offer again wonderful music on their new album</strong> <strong>&#8222;Suffer And Survive&#8220;. They know how to write and present good songs. This modern mixture of rock and metal offer high quality and high entertainment value. The guys have something in store for every taste. LIFT THE CURSE are on a very good way!</strong></p>
