LUPONERO (Facebook) sind mir letztes Jahr mit der Single “Dad Bod Rok God” sehr positiv aufgefallen. Ein lockerer Partysmasher mit einem Groove, der niemanden still sitzen lässt. Dazu noch ein spaßiges Video und der Spaßfaktor ist garantiert. Ich möchte gar nicht wissen, wie lange die Band für diese technisch anspruchsvolle Tanzperformance proben musste. Da ist sicherlich viel Schweiß und Bier geflossen. Aber die Mühe wurde belohnt, denn diese Single stieß nicht nur auf eine starke Resonanz bei den Fans, sondern sicherte der Band auch den Deal Nicht nur, dass dieser Track eine starke Resonanz auf YouTube bekam, sondern bescherte ihnen auch einen Deal mit Icons Creating Evil Art.

Jetzt stellt sich mir aber nach Veröffentlichung des Debüts die Frage, warum es “Dad Bod Rock God” nicht auf das Album geschafft hat. Mir fällt keine schlüssige Erklärung ein. Schade eigentlich.

Also gibt es 10 neue Tracks, mit denen LUPONERO euch unterhalten wollen. Nachdem ich das Album zum ersten Mal durchgehört hatte, kann ich euch mitteilen, dass die Band sehr viel zu bieten hat und stilistisch einen bunten Mix präsentieren. LUPONERO sind modern ausgerichtet, was sich eventuell auch schon von der extravaganten Farbgebung des Cover Artworks ableiten lässt.

Marco Luponero sagt über das Album:

Als Texter bin ich nicht besonders begeistert von Konzeptalben, aber ich mag es sehr, von einem zentralen Thema angetrieben zu werden. Für diese Platte habe ich mir vorgenommen, die Art von „positivem Nihilismus“ zu erforschen, der in so vielen Bereichen der heutigen Kultur zu finden ist. Manchmal ist es so, als ob wir bereits aufgegeben haben und einfach nur dastehen und zusehen, wie sich alles in Scheiße verwandelt, Lach-Emojis verbreiten und uns verzweifelt an völlig unnötige Dinge klammern. Das Album reflektiert das aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln. Es sind auch ein paar sehr persönliche Sachen dabei, wie zum Beispiel „Angelo“, ein Song über meinen Vater.

Pressetext über ‚Scream For Existence‘

Der Opener “Everything Nothing” beginnt düster, baut langsam einen Spannungsbogen auf, um dann förmlich zu explodieren. Es wird zu einem aggressiv schmutzigen Rocksong, der ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste Vollgas abgeht. Ein irres Gitarrensolo wird ebenfalls noch abgebrannt. Nach dem fulminanten Start ist man auf jeden Fall hellwach. Wow!

Nach diesem Arschritt geht es mit „Bipolaroids“ weiter, der von der Stimmung erheblich fröhlicher auftritt. Mit einem ungehemmten Swing nimmt der Song den Hörer voll mit und auch hier muss ich das famose Gitarrensolo hervorheben, dass einfach der Knaller ist. „Pickup Artist“ sorgt ebenfalls für gute Laune und geht ein wenig forscher an. Apropos rangehen… Davon handelt auch das spaßige Video zum Song. Sehr witzige Geschichte!

Darüber hinaus gibt es auf dem Album ebenso sehr entspannte und emotionale Momente. „Running On Empty“ ist beispielsweise ein melancholischer unaufdringlicher Poprock-Song mit schönen sanften Melodiewellen, auf denen man davontreiben kann. Mit „Angelo“, bei dem es um den Vater von Marco Luponero geht, gibt es die bedächtigsten bzw. zärtlichsten Momente auf dem Album.

„Helsinki Intersection Mindfuck“ ist auf jeden Fall der Sonderling auf dem Album. Er sorgt mit seinem düsteren Grunge-Faktor für verstörende Vibes. Ein kraftvoller Song mit Hang zum ungezügelten Chaos. So wird man dem Thema ‚Mindfuck‘ gerecht. Und bevor der Hörer dem Wahnsinn verfällt. gibt es direkt im Anschluss den coolen geradlinigen Rocker „Sapiens“, der die Dunkelheit des Vorgängersongs wieder hinwegfegt. Und auch „Killing Time“ hält sich nicht zurück und bietet eine grandiose Rockshow.

Fazit

LUPONERO ist mit ihrem Debüt ein insgesamt äußerst frisches aufregendes Album gelungen, dass durch seine Vielseitigkeit besticht und keine Langeweile aufkommen lässt. LUPONERO scheuen sich auch nicht mit kontrastierenden Erfahrungen zu arbeiten. Sicherlich wird jeder dem persönlichen Geschmack geschuldet, bestimmte Songs favorisieren. Mir persönlich gefallen die fetzigen Songs besser, doch ist es gleichwohl ein schönes Abenteuer, wenn man sich das ganze Album anhört und die verschiedenen Stimmungen in sich aufsaugt.

Es scheint, dass LUPONERO ganz bewusst eine größere Bandbreite an musikalischen Eindrücken erschaffen haben, weil sie sich schlichtweg mit großem Spaß in verschiedenen Bereichen austoben. So könnte man ihnen vorwerfen, dass sie keine klare Linie haben, oder man hält ihnen zu Gute, dass sie einfach Spaß an der Musik haben und das machen, wozu sie Lust haben ohne sich stilistisch einschränken. Ich wähle die zweite Möglichkeit und freue mich über dieses tolle Album.

LUPONERO (Facebook) caught my attention very positively last year with their single „Dad Bod Rok God“. A laid-back party smasher with a groove that won’t let anyone sit still on the barstool. Add to that a comedy video and the fun factor is guaranteed. I can’t imagine how long the band had to rehearse for this technically demanding dance performance. A lot of sweat and beer must have flowed. But the effort was rewarded, because this single not only met with a strong response from the fans, but also secured the band a deal Not only did this track get a strong response on YouTube, but it also landed them a deal with Icons Creating Evil Art.

But now, after the release of the debut, I’m wondering why „Dad Bod Rock God“ didn’t make it onto the album. I can’t think of a coherent explanation. I would have liked it to be on the album.

So there are 10 new tracks with which LUPONERO want to entertain you. After listening to the album for the first time, I can tell you that the band has a lot to offer and present a colorful mix of styles. LUPONERO are modern in their approach, which can perhaps be deduced from the extravagant color scheme of the cover artwork.

As a lyricist I’m not particularly passionate about concept albums, but I very much enjoy being driven by a central theme. For this record, I set out to explore the sort of “positive nihilism” that is present in so much of today’s culture. Sometimes it’s as if we’ve already given up, and we’re just standing there watching everything turn to shit, spreading laughter emojis and desperately clinging to completely unnecessary materia. The album reflects on that, from several angles. There’s also some really personal stuff in there, such as “Angelo”, which is a song about my father.

The opener „Everything Nothing“ begins darkly, slowly builds up an arc of tension and then literally explodes. It becomes an aggressively dirty rock song that uncompromisingly goes full throttle. A crazy guitar solo is also fired off. After the brilliant start, you are definitely wide awake. Wow!

After this ass-kicking, we continue with „Bipolaroids“, which has a more cheerful mood. With an uninhibited swing, the song takes the listener along for the ride and here, too, I have to emphasize the famous guitar solo, which is simply a blast. „Pickup Artist“ also puts you in a good mood and takes a slightly more brash approach. Here again the video is crazy with a very funny story! I need this sun glasses.

There are also very relaxed and emotional moments on the album. „Running On Empty“, for example, is a melancholy, unobtrusive pop rock song with beautiful, gentle melodic waves on which you can drift away. With „Angelo“, which is about Marco Luponero’s father, there are the most thoughtful and tender moments on the album.

“Helsinki Intersection Mindfuck” is definitely an exceptional song on the album. It creates disturbing vibes with its dark grunge factor. A powerful song with a penchant for unbridled chaos. It does justice to the theme of ‚Mindfuck‘. And before the listener falls completely into madness, the cool, straightforward rocker „Sapiens“ immediately follows, sweeping away the insane chaos of the previous song. And „Killing Time“ doesn’t hold back either and offers a terrific rock show.

Conclusion

With their debut, LUPONERO have created an extremely fresh and exciting album that impresses with its versatility and never lets you get bored. LUPONERO are not afraid to work with contrasting experiences. Certainly, everyone will favor certain songs according to their personal taste. Personally, I like the groovy rousing songs better, but it’s still a nice adventure to listen to the whole album and soak up the different moods.

It seems that LUPONERO have deliberately created a wide range of musical impressions because they have simply great fun making music in different areas. So you could criticize them of not having a clear line, or you could give them credit for simply having fun with music and doing what they feel without restricting themselves stylistically. I choose the second option and I’m happy with this great album.

GINGER EVIL (Facebook) mit ihrer charismatischen Frontfrau Ella Tepponen bieten erdigen ehrlichen Rock mit verschiedenen Facetten. Das Album „The Way It Burns“ unterhält mit ganz unterschiedlichen Songs, die für jede Stimmung etwas zu bieten haben. Dabei muss es gar nicht immer so unglaublich spektakulär zugehen, sondern GINGER EVIL erreichen auch viel mit dezenteren, aber nicht minder ausdrucksstarken Auftritten. Dazu passt auch der Kommentar von Gitarrist Tomi, der die Band folgendermaßen beschreibt:

Der Hauptgrund für die Gründung von Ginger Evil war, einen sicheren Ort als Band zu haben, wo der Song der Boss ist. Nicht die Produktion, nicht der sogenannte perfekte Sound, nicht die Nummer-eins-Single. Keith Richards sagte einmal „Smile is the boss“. Für mich ist das die Grundregel: sich selbst ein gutes Gefühl zu geben. Wenn jemand anderes den Song mag, ist das ein zusätzlicher Bonus. Ich denke, das fasst Ginger Evil ziemlich gut zusammen.

GINGER EVIL haben jedenfalls ein unheimlich gutes Gespür für ausdrucksstarke Songs, die mit verschiedenen Stimmungen spielen. Ich finde, dass die Songs verdammt schmackhaft angerichtet sind. Die Songstrukturen sind nicht standardisiert und liefern immer einen interessanten Verlauf. Dadurch ergibt sich auch eine unterschiedliche Ausrichtung, so dass die Songs jeweils ihren ganz eigenen Charakter offenbaren. Ich halte das immer für einen großen Vorteil, wenn nicht alles nach dem gleichen Rezept aufgebaut wird.

Energie und Harmonie

Das Album wird mit dem energiegeladenen Opener „Rainmaker“ eröffnet. Das ist richtig viel Strom drin, der direkt eine elektrisierende Wirkung auf den Hörer hat. Bei mir ist der Funke jedenfalls sofort rübergesprungen. Auch das lässig coole „Dead On Arrival“ zündet bei mir super durch. Und wenn dann noch so ein richtig krasser Groove wie beim Song „Better Get In Line“ durch meine Ohren knallt, dann ist es um mich geschehen. Ich liebe diese kreativen Songs, die dazu noch von Meistern ihres Fachs vorgetragen werden. Das macht gleich noch mehr Spaß. Die kreative Spielfreude bei GINGER EVIL ist ebenfalls deutlich zu spüren, indem man wirklich daran interessiert ist immer wieder neue musikalische Eindrücke entstehen zu lassen.

Es müssen gar nicht immer diese energischen mitreißenden Momente sein. Es gibt auch Momente, die sich auf weniger reduzieren ohne an Ausstrahlung zu verlieren. So hat auch ein Song wie „Flames“ seinen Reiz, der locker flockig seinen Weg geht ohne auszuflippen. Das ist nicht aufregend spektakulär, aber trotzdem wunderbar anzuhören, wenn wunderschönen Melodien erklingen, die sich manchmal auch zart und zauberhaft ins Ohr schmeicheln. „Wake Me“ oder auch „Arrowhead“ tun sich dabei auch als wundervolle Balladen hervor, die mit viel Gefühl vorgetragen werden, aber darüber hinaus trotzdem noch lebendig klingen.

Fazit

GINGER EVIL bieten mit „The Way It Burns“ ein wunderschönes Rockalbum, dass euch mit ganz verschiedenen Songs verwöhnen wird. Es hat viele musikalische Facetten zu bieten, wobei alles mit viel Gefühl und detailverliebter Spielfreude präsentiert wird. Dabei ist es kein kompliziertes Album, sondern ein harmonisches Miteinander, das zum Genießen einlädt, sowohl in den ruhigeren als auch in den kraftvollen Momenten.

GINGER EVIL (Facebook) with their charismatic front singer Ella Tepponen offer fresh, honest rock with different facets. The album „The Way It Burns“ entertains with very different songs that have something for every mood. It doesn’t always have to be so incredibly spectacular, but GINGER EVIL also achieve a lot with more discreet, but no less expressive performances. The comment by guitarist Tomi, who describes the band as follows, fits in with this:

The main reason for forming Ginger Evil was to have a safe place as a band, where the song is the boss. Not the production, not the so-called perfect sound, not the number one single. Keith Richards said once “Smile is the boss”. For me, that is the ground rule; to make yourself feel good. If someone else likes the song, it’s an added bonus. I guess that pretty much sums up Ginger Evil

In any case, GINGER EVIL have an incredibly good feel for expressive songs that play with different moods. I think the songs are damn tasty. The song structures are not standardized and always deliver an interesting progression. This also results in a different direction, so that the songs each reveal their very own character. I always think that’s a big advantage when not everything is built up in the same way.

Energy and harmony

The album opens with the energetic opener „Rainmaker“. There’s a lot of power in it, which has an immediate electrifying effect on the listener. For me, the spark jumped over immediately. The casually cool „Dead On Arrival“ also really ignites me. And when a really cool groove like in the song „Better Get In Line“ bangs through my ears, then I’m hooked. I love these creative songs, which are also performed by masters of their craft. That makes it even more fun. GINGER EVIL’s creative joy of playing is also clearly noticeable, as they are always interested in creating new musical impressions.

It doesn’t always have to be these energetic, rousing moments. There are also passages that are reduced to less without losing any of their charisma. A song like „Flames“, for example, has its charm, going its own easy-going way without freaking out. It’s not so excitingly spectacular, but it’s still wonderful to listen to, with beautiful melodies that sometimes caress the ear delicately and enchantingly. „Wake Me“ or „Arrowhead“ also stand out as wonderful ballads that are performed with a lot of feeling but still sound lively.

Conclusion

GINGER EVIL offer with „The Way It Burns“ a wonderful rock album that will spoil you with very different songs. It has many musical facets to offer, whereby everything is presented with a lot of feeling and a love of detail. It is not a complicated album, but a harmonious coexistence that invites you to enjoy both the quieter and the more powerful moments.

RAVENSTINE (Facebook) werden bereits ein Jahr nach dem selbstbetitelten Debütalbums (Review) das neuer Werk „2024“ veröffentlichen. Gab es auf dem Debüt fetzigen schmutzigen Rock mit starken Riffs und viel Power, so muss man sich bei den neuen Songs auf einige Änderungen bzw. Überraschungen gefasst machen.

Eine Überraschung mag da wohl auch das Cover-Artwork von Frank Fiedler (Greenfeed Digital Art) sein, der schon das letzte Cover gestaltet hatte. Sein neues Werk ist farblich mal was ganz anderes, denn die dominierende Farbe ist Violett und ist damit ein krasser Gegensatz zur Farbgebung des letzten Covers. Gewagt, aber mir gefällt das gesamte Design und das Farbschema hat etwas mystisches und spirituelles. Außerdem soll die Farbe für Kreativität stehen. Wäre interessant zu wissen, warum RAVENSTINE und Frank Fiedler sich für dieses Farbspektrum entschieden haben. Eines kann man jedenfalls mit Sicherheit sagen. Kreativität ist auf jeden Fall ein Qualitätsmerkmal von RAVENSTINE!

Denn auf dem zweiten Album zeigen sie auch andere Facetten ihrer Musik. Die erste Single „Black Is The Brightest Color“ vom neuen Album vermittelt aber noch die Stimmung des ersten Albums. Der Song wird mit einem coolen Bass-Solo eingeleitet und der Bass spielt im gesamten Song eine starke Rolle und erzeugt einen lebendigen Groove. RAVENSTINE sind immer für eine Überraschung gut. Einen Part mit deutsch gesprochenem Text erwartet man sicherlich nicht bei so einem Song. Ungewöhnlich, aber es funktioniert! Dort wird auch das Thema des Songs noch mal sehr deutlich gemacht. Denn trotz des größtenteils beschwingten Auftritts geht es um das ernste Thema Depression. Daher wurde das Video in einer tristen schwarz/weiß Optik verwirklicht.

Dann gibt es noch „Killing Spree“ und natürlich die Live-Version des Songs „Freedom Day“ vom letzten Album, die vergleichbar abrocken. Doch das neue Album klingt insgesamt leichter und filigraner. Die Riffs sind nicht ganz so hart und fetzig wie auf dem Debüt und es werden häufig cleane akustische Gitarren verwendet. Dazu passt so ein Titelmotto wie „Easy Come Easy Go“ natürlich hervorragend. Die Songs sind schön mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgearbeitet und zeigen handwerkliche Kunst, die sich in vielen melodischen Feinheiten manifestieren. „Fly Eagle Fly“ ist auch so eine super lockere Nummer mit einem starken Chorus. Die Refrains sind im übrigen oft super eingängig und lassen sich nur schwer wieder aus dem Kopf kriegen. Aber wer will das auch schon?

„In The Light“ als längster Song kann sowohl mit sanftmütig entspannten Passagen, aber auch mit starken rockigen Passagen begeistern. Dieser Mix mit akustischen Gitarren und rockigen Riffs ist außerordentlich gut gelungen. Tatsächlich hätte ich mir aber gewünscht, dass das geile markige Gitarrensolo, welches am Ende gestartet wird, noch länger ausgespielt worden wäre anstatt schon nach acht Sekunden die Lautstärke runterzuregeln und den Song zu beenden. Würde ich toll finden, wenn man das vielleicht live mehr auskosten könnte.

Dann überraschen zwei Balladen.

Die erste Ballade „Signs By The Roadside“ hat mich auf Anhieb unheimlich gefesselt. Auch wenn der Song mit der Akustikgitarre und dem filigranen Bass sehr minimalistisch gehalten ist. Diesem Song schenkt John seine Stimme und er holt mich mit seiner Stimme und Gesangsleistung voll ab. Es entsteht eine wundervolle bedächtige Atmosphäre. Und die Idee mit dem Kanon am Ende finde ich ebenso sehr gelungen. RAVENSTINE verstehen sich darauf auch Balladen kunstvoll mit dem gewissen Etwas darzubieten. So wird auch die astreine Ballade „When I’m Dead And Gone“ zu einem schönen Erlebnis. Hier passiert instrumental mehr, so dass ein anderer mehr komplexer Ansatz geboten wird, der dem Ganzen eine robustere intensive Ausstrahlung verleiht.

„A Long Way Home“ alterniert zwischen ausdrucksvollen Strophen und einem genialen drückenden Refrain, der mit Power und zügigem Tempo schnurstracks durch die Ohren in den Kopf fährt und dort seine Runden dreht. Und wenn es zu Ende ist, dann gerne noch mal von vorne. Zak als Hauptsänger demonstriert hier seine fantastischen Fähigkeiten. Er hat einfach eine unglaubliche Ausstrahlung. Thematisch packen RAVENSTINE ernste Themen aus verschiedenen Bereichen an.

Die Thematik von ‚A Long Way Home‘ dreht sich um den Umstand, wie es sich anfühlt, wenn man seine Heimat verlassen muss und nach der der Rückkehr feststellt, das es nicht mehr die Heimat ist, die sie einst war. Die Menschen im Ahrtal haben genau dieses Schicksal erlitten, denn viele haben Haus, Hof oder gar Familienmitglieder verloren. Sie mussten ihre Heimat verlassen. Wer je vor der Flutkatastrophe im Ahrtal war, der wird nachvollziehen können, wenn wir sagen: Die einstige Heimat ist nicht mehr so wie sie wahr und sie wird auch nie mehr wieder so sein.

Fazit

RAVENSTINE zeigen auf ihrem Album „2024“ neue Facetten ihrer tollen Rockmusik. Es ist nicht so fordernd und forsch wie das Debüt, kann aber trotzdem auf ganzer Linie überzeugen. Es unterstreicht vortrefflich die kreative Ader von RAVENSTINE. Die Songs sind schön mit viel Liebe zum Detail ausgearbeitet und zeigen handwerkliche Kunst, die sich in vielen melodischen Feinheiten manifestiert. Viele der Songs machen es sich mit ihren eingängigen Refrains sofort dauerhaft im Kopf gemütlich. Darüber hinaus ist die Produktion übrigens wahnsinnig gut geworden, denn der Sound klingt fantastisch.

Somit haben RAVENSTINE auf ihren zwei Alben insgesamt eine exquisite vielfältige Mischung des Rock zusammengemixt, die perfekte Unterhaltung bietet. Wie kann ich nun das zweite Album mit Punkten bewerten? Ich persönlich mag ja eigentlich mehr den dreckigen rockigen Sound, aber ich muss zugeben, dass ich mich in das Soundkonzept auf dem neuen Album ebenfalls verliebt habe, wobei hier der Fokus noch mehr auf Atmosphäre und Emotionalität gelegt wird. Außerdem bekommt man viele Songs gar nicht mehr aus dem Kopf. Tja, so bleibt mir nichts weiter übrig als die Höchstpunktzahl zu vergeben. Das Album „2024“ ist einfach herrlich.

RAVENSTINE (Facebook) will release their new album „2024“ just one year after their self-titled debut album (review). While the debut album featured groovy, dirty rock with strong riffs and lots of power, the new songs have a few changes and surprises in store.

The beautiful cover artwork by Frank Fiedler (Greenfeed Digital Art), who designed the last cover, may also come as a surprise. His new work is something completely different in terms of color, as the dominant color is purple, which is a stark contrast to the color scheme of the last cover. I like the overall design and the color theme has something mystical and spiritual. The color is also supposed to stand for creativity. It would be interesting to know why RAVENSTINE and Frank Fiedler decided on this color spectrum. One thing can be said with certainty. Creativity is definitely a part of RAVENSTINE!

Because on the second album they show other facets of their music. However, the first single „Black Is The Brightest Color“ from the new album still conveys the style of the first album. The song opens with a cool bass solo and the bass plays a strong role throughout the song, creating a lively groove. RAVENSTINE are always good for a surprise. You certainly wouldn’t expect a part with German spoken lyrics in a song like this. Unusual, but it works! It also makes the theme of the song very clear. Because despite the mostly upbeat performance, it deals with the serious subject of depression. That’s why the video was realized in a dreary black and white look.

Then there’s „Killing Spree“ and of course the live version of the song „Freedom Day“ from the last album, which rock out in a comparable way. But the new album sounds lighter and more delicate overall. The riffs are not quite as hard and groovy as on the debut and clean acoustic guitars are often used. Of course, a title motto like „Easy Come Easy Go“ fits in perfectly with this. The songs are beautifully created with great attention to detail and demonstrate craftsmanship that manifests itself in many melodic subtleties. „Fly Eagle Fly“ is also a super laid-back number with a strong chorus. The choruses are often super catchy and hard to get out of your head. But who wants that?

„In The Light“, the longest song, can inspire with both mellow, relaxed passages and strong rocking passages. This mix of acoustic guitars and rocking riffs is extraordinarily well done. In fact, I would have liked the cool, pithy guitar solo that starts at the end to have been played for longer instead of turning the volume down after just eight seconds and ending the song. I would think it would be great if you could perhaps enjoy it more live on stage.

two ballads surprise us.

The first ballad „Signs By The Roadside“ captivated me straight away. Even though the song is kept very minimalist with the acoustic guitar and the delicate bass, John’s voice and vocal performance completely won me over. It creates a wonderful, thoughtful atmosphere. And I also think the idea of the canon at the end is very nice. RAVENSTINE also know how to present ballads artfully. This also makes the pure ballad „When I’m Dead And Gone“ a beautiful experience. There is more going on here instrumentally, so that a different, more complex approach is offered, which gives the whole thing a more strong, intense aura.

„A Long Way Home“ alternates between expressive verses and an ingenious, pressing chorus that drives straight through your ears into your head with power and a brisk tempo. And there it turns around and around and it never ends. Zak as the lead singer demonstrates his fantastic abilities here. He simply has an incredible charisma. Thematically, RAVENSTINE tackle serious topics from various areas.

The theme of ‚A Long Way Home‘ revolves around the fact of how it feels when you have to leave your home and realize on your return that it is no longer the home it once was. The people in the Ahr valley have suffered exactly this fate, as many have lost their homes, farms or even family members. They had to leave their homes. Anyone who was ever in the Ahr valley before the flood disaster will be able to understand when we say: the former home is no longer as it was and it will never be the same again.

Conclusion

RAVENSTINE show new facets of their great rock music on their album „2024“. It is not as demanding and brash as their debut, but is still convincing across the board. It perfectly underlines RAVENSTINE’s creative vein. The songs are beautifully crafted with great attention to detail and deliver many melodic subtleties. Many of the songs immediately get stuck in your head with their catchy choruses. What’s more, the production is incredibly good, because the sound is fantastic.

All in all, RAVENSTINE have put together an exquisitely diverse mix of Rock on their two albums that offers perfect entertainment. How can I rate the second album in terms of points? Personally, I actually like the dirty rock sound more, but I have to admit that I also fell in love with the sound concept on the new album, where the focus is even more on atmosphere and emotionality. What’s more, you can’t get many of the songs out of your head. Well, so there’s nothing left for me to do but give it full points. The album „2024“ is simply wonderful.

The Glorious Sons und die Rolling Stones

Natürlich dürfen die Rolling Stones nicht fehlen! Offenbar haben The Glorious Sons die alten Herren so beeindruckt, dass sie gleich nochmal als Support eingeladen wurden. Dafür lässt man natürlich alles stehen und liegen. Gerade selber auf Tour? Don’t give a fuck! Wir sprachen natürlich auch über Musik und den Wandel, den sie im Laufe der Jahrzehnte durchgemacht hat und wie The Glorious Sons selber Songs schreiben. Sehr interessant! Die tollen Texte und seine Fähigkeiten tolle Wörter zu finden und Bilder im Kopf zu erschaffen, konnte ich natürlich nicht unerwähnt lassen.
