DEATH DEALER has announced the upcoming release of a new EP titled FUEL INJECTED SUICIDE MACHINE (the second Steel Cartel Records product to implement the variant cover art vinyl product). The band features Ross The Boss (Ex-MANOWAR, ROSS THE BOSS BAND, DICTATORS), Sean Peck (CAGE, THE THREE TREMORS, DENNER/SHERMANN, WARRIOR), Mike Lepond (SYMPHONY-X, STEEL ASSASSINS), Stu Marshall (DUNGEON, NIGHT LEGION, ARKENSTONE), and Steve Bolognese (ROSS THE BOSS, INTO ETERNITY) and is coming off of their successful 3rd full-length release of the award-winning album CONQUERED LANDS.

The new EP release features 4 new songs of pure heavy metal goodness, and stunning cover artwork by Marc Sasso (DIO, HALFORD, ADRENELINE MOB, CAGE) and is being released on Vinyl and Digipak FEBRUARY 25th worldwide on STEEL CARTEL RECORDS. The title track can be heard here via an insane lyric video that really sets the tone for the entire 4 song journey. The theme of the record harkens back to the MAD MAX series of movies and tales of survival in a dystopian future.

Mike Lepond said “We had such a powerful positive reaction from our last record, that we felt we should get something out sooner rather than later. We had so much material written and recorded that were able to get an EP ready that is amazing sounding.”

Sean followed up by saying “I am really stoked on how the EP came out it is a great mix of heavy speed songs and classic Death Dealer mid-tempo head bangers too. The Three Tremors haben ihr zweites Album auf den Markt gebracht. Die Protagonisten sind die drei Sänger. Ja, genau. Drei. Das wären Sean Peck (Cage, Death Dealer), Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer, Titan Force) und Tim (The Ripper) Owens, der wohl durch seinen Aufenthalt bei Judas Priest und Iced Earth am bekanntesten sein dürfte und der auch KKs Priest seine Stimme lieh.

US Power Metal

Wie auch schon auf dem Vorgänger, bekommen hier die Hörer eine ordentliche Portion fetten Metal auf’s Ohr gedrückt. Alle drei Sänger sind ja durchaus bekannt für ihre hohen Vocals und Screams. Die Namen sind hier Programm. Hier gehen die Stimmen bis in die höchsten Höhen, meistens singen sogar alle auf einmal. Für Freunde dieser Stimmakrobatik ist das natürlich Gold, alle anderen sollten sich vorsichtiger an die Jungs wagen. Das ist oftmals schon extrem.

Mit an Bord sind dazu noch alle Member von Cage. Der Sound der Three Tremors geht auch genau in diese Richtung. Heavy Metal bis der Arzt kommt.

Guardians of the Void

Das Album beginnt mit einem Brecher. „Bonebreaker“. Hart, schnell, laut. Schaut euch das Video dazu einfach mal an.

Wer glaubt, es könnte nicht noch schneller und härter, der hat den Titelsong noch nicht gehört. Die Bassdrum tackert erbarmungslos und die Gitarren von Casey Trask und David „Conan“ Garcia riffen sich in messerscharf durch den Song. „Kryptonia Steel“ kommt etwas schleppend daher, nimmt mit den ersten Riffsalven aber Fahrt auf. Wie in allen Songs singen die drei Vokalisten sich die Seele aus dem Leib. Eine Spur Judas Priest auf Speed steckt auch in den Songs.

Ballade, oder so

„Crucifier“ stellt eine kleine Ausnahme im Schön-auf-die-12-Kosmos der Three Tremors dar. Feine Powermetalballade. „Operation: Neptune Spear“ schlägt, wie die anderen Songs, auch musikalisch in die gleiche Kerbe. Textlich geht es dort aber sehr amerikanisch-patriotisch zu, handelt der Song doch von der Operation, die zur Tötung von Osama bin Laden führte. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass sowas eher kontrovers aufgenommen werden könnte.

Sean Peck

Sean Peck ist eindeutig Mastermind der Three Tremors, besteht doch die Backingband für die drei Sirenen aus Mitgliedern seiner Band Cage. Das hört man, wie bereits beim ersten Album, den Songs auch an. Das bedeutet aber nichts Schlechtes. Für mich sind die Songs im Vergleich zum Debut noch ein wenig besser geworden. Alle, die auf Cage, Judas Priest und anverwandte Bands stehen, werden mit „Guardians of the Void“ viel Freude haben. Ich muss zugeben, dass bei den vielen Screams und dem sehr hohen Gesang aller Beteiligten, das Hören des Albums am Stück nicht immer stressfrei ist. Wer jedoch die Sangeskünste der Männer am Mikro kennt, weiß ja, was ihn da erwartet. Es gibt richtig was auf die Metalglocke. Ich hoffe, die Band mal live in Deutschland zu sehen.

Das Interessante ist übrigens, dass man das Album nicht im Stream bekommt. Wer es hören möchte, der muss zu einem physischen Produkt, wie CD oder Schallplatte greifen. Aber macht der Metalfan das nicht sowieso?

THE THREE TREMORS featuring vocalists Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest/KK’s Priest), Harry “The Tyrant” Conklin (Jag Panzer/Satan’s Host), and Sean “The Hell Destroyer” Peck (Cage/Death Dealer/Warrior/Denner Shermann) have released their second single from the GUARDIANS OF THE VOID album, CRUCIFIER. 

Owens said “This is one of my favorite tracks on the record,” while Peck added, “When the band wrote this song I knew we had a special track on our hands.  It has a super haunting vibe and I love the chorus how it hits.  I am sure my fellow metal heads will dig it like I do.” Harry Conklin chimed in and said, “This was one I insisted we add to the live set.  I can’t wait to sing this with the band.”

Den Anfang machte am 01. Oktober das langerwartete Debüt-Album der neuen Formation von Ex-JUDAS PRIEST-Gitarrist KK Downing. Die Review des Albums „Sermons of the Sinner“ haben wir euch bereits geliefert. Jetzt warten wir auf die Ankündigung der ersten Tourdaten.

Genau anders herum lief es am vergangenen Mittwoch bei THE THREE TREMORS. Ripper Owens und seine beiden Sangesbrüder Sean „Hell Destroyer“ Peck (CAGE, DEATH DEALER) sowie Harry „The Tyrant“ Conklin (JAG PANZER, SATAN’S HOST) meldeten sich zu Wort. Für November und Dezember 2021 wurden bereits Tourdaten in den USA genannt. Der Termin für die Veröffentlichung des zweiten Albums „Guardians of the Void“ wird zunächst aber nur vage mit „November 2021“ angegeben.

Zur Zeit sind wir bemüht, entweder Ripper Owens oder Mr. Peck ans Telefon zu bekommen, um etwas umfassender ins Bild gesetzt zu werden. Bis dahin gibt es mit dem Video zu Bone Breaker einen ersten Vorgeschmack:

Am Freitag schließlich kam die Nachricht, dass Ripper Owens noch an ganz anderer Stelle seine Stimme verdingt hat. In der Metal-Hochburg Finnland betreibt ein junger Musiker namens Jani Pöysä sein Projekt RENEGADE ANGEL. Seit dem Sommer 2020 hat er vier einzelne Tracks in wechselnden Besetzungen auf die Beine gestellt. Seit Dienstag nun wartet Jani mit der digitalen EP „Damnation“ auf.

Beim Titelstück teilen sich der Argentinier Alejandro Fernandez und Ripper Owens die Arbeit am Mikro. Der Auftrakt des Songs ist „Rapid Fire“ von einer bekannten britischen Boyband nicht unähnlich. Das keyboardorientierte Stück ist ein interessanter „Battle“ der beiden erfahrenen Sänger.

Nach zehn Jahren mit neuer Mannschaft

Mit dem Debutalbum kehrt KK Downing fast genau zehn Jahre nach seinem Weggang bei JUDAS PRIEST dauerhaft in den Metalzirkus zurück. Mit ihm teilen sich zwei weitere Ex-Priester die Manege: Tim „Ripper“ Owens hat dem neuen Material am Mikrophon seinen Stempel aufgedrückt. Am Schlagzeug wird Les Binks aus dem klassischen JUDAS PRIEST-Line Up der Jahre 1977 bis 1979 den Takt vorgeben. A.J. Mills von der Band HOSTILE, die von Downing produziert wurde, steuert die zweite Gitarre bei. Der vielseitige Viersaiter im Bunde ist Tony Newton (VOODOO SIX).

Pechvogel der Saison

Wer bislang Les Binks anhand des Photos anders in Erinnerung hatte: der Drummer hat sich kurz vor Beginn der Aufnahmen des Albums eine langwierige Verletzung am Handgelenk zugezogen. Um den Zeitplan für die Aufnahmen einzuhalten, ist KK Downing auf Sean Elg als Studiodrummer zugekommen. Elg spielt ua. mit Ripper Owens bei THE THREE TREMORS und mit dem Co-Sänger Sean Peck von 3T bei dessen Hauptband CAGE. Les Binks wird zur Tour wieder fit sein und dann hinter den Trommeln Platz nehmen.

Downing und KKs PRIEST auf allen Kanälen

„Hellfire Thunderbolt“ hat am ersten Tag auf YouTube mehr als 90.000 Aufrufe bekommen. Also dürften alle außer der Papst mittlerweile wissen, worum es geht. KK Downing hat betont, dass er seine Zeit bei JUDAS PRIEST in den neuen Songs zitieren wird. Und dabei bezog er sich ausdrücklich auf die 1980er Jahre. Deshalb findet sich bei „Hellfire Thunderbolt“ am Songanfang exakt der gleiche Donnerhall-Effekt wir bei JUDAS PRIESTs „Hard As Iron“ vom 1988er Album „Ram It Down“. Auf weitere Hommagen darf man also gespannt sein.

Investition in die Zukunft

Aktuell läuft der Vorverkauf für diverse Formate von „Sermons Of The Sinner“ ua. auf einem extra eingerichteten deutschen Shop. Das Album wird digital, auf CD und in zwei Vinyl-Varianten erhältlich sein. Den Vinylen ist das Material als Bonus-CD im Pappschuber beigegeben. Die Tracklist lautet wie folgt:

Tour noch nicht in Sicht…

In einem Zoom-Interview mit dem kanadischen VJ Mitch Lafon hat KK Downing bekannt gegeben, dass die Tour zu „Sermons Of The Sinner“ bis 2022 auf sich warten lassen wird. Ob noch vorher in 2021 ein Showcase im heimatlichen Großbritannien stattfinden kann, ließ der Mann aus Wolverhampton bewusst offen. In der Zeit bis zur Tour wird es weitere Videos zu Songs vom Album geben.

Was der Ripper gesangstechnisch für befreundete Bands zu leisten im Stande ist, haben wir für euch ua. in 2019 heraus gefunden.

Für alle Liebhaber von instrumentaler Gitarrenmusik wird Tony MacAlpine ein Begriff sein. Für die, die ihn nicht kennen, mal eine kurze Zusammenfassung seiner Karriere. Tony beginnt mit 5 Jahren am Konservatorium Springfield mit dem Klavierspielen. Mit 12 greift er zur Gitarre und wird Anfang der 80er von Mike Varney entdeckt. MacApline gehört mit zur Speerspitze der Shredderszene von Shrapnel Records.

Nach etlichen Soloalben gründet er mit anderen Rockgrößen die Band Planet X. Ende der 90er spielt er in der Jazz Fusion Gruppe CAB und später in der Band von Steve Vai.

Auf Tour

Nachdem Tony vor einigen Jahren an Krebs erkrankte, scheint er jetzt wieder voll auf dem Damm zu sein. Mit „Death of Roses“ hat er gerade ein neues Album am Start und kommt auf Tour durch Europa.

The 3 Tremors

Ein weiteres Highlight im Bochumer Rockpalast sind „The Three Tremors“. Es handelt sich um ein Projekt dreier Ausnahmesänger, welche alle für ihren hohen Powermetalgesang bekannt sein dürften. Tim „The Ripper“ Owens, ehemaliger Fronter von Judas Priest und Iced Earth, Sean Peck, seines Zeichens hauptamtlich bei Cage tätig und Harry Conklin von Jag Panzer.

Laut Ausagen der Band erwartet uns ein „erderschütterndes, apokalyptisches Speed Metal Album“. Bisher ist die Scheibe noch nicht erschienen, aber einen ersten Eindruck kann man sich bei dem Lyricvideo von „Invaders from the Sky“ machen.
