DISROOTED (Facebook) haben mit „Gone Too Far“ wieder eine neue Single für euch. Die Band sind für ‚metal-heads.de‘ keine Unbekannten, begleiten wir sie doch schon seit ihrer ersten Single „Iconoclast“. Im letzten Jahr kam die starke EP „Rise From The Depths“ auf den Markt (Review). DISROOTED haben bisher immer mit grandiosen Songs begeistern können, die auch rein technisch auf absolutem Topniveau präsentiert wurden. Als internationale Band konnten sie letztes Jahr auch den Sänger Enrico Longhin für sich gewinnen, der mir persönlich von der grandiosen italienischen Progressive Metal Band ‚The Moor‘ bekannt war. Meiner Meinung nach ein absoluter Glücksgriff für die Band, denn Enrico ist ein fantastischer Sänger mit einer grandiosen Stimme, die er mit einer technisch eindrucksvollen Varianz einzusetzen weiß. Davon könnt ihr euch auch beim neuen Release von ‚The Moor‘ überzeugen. (Review „Ombra“).

DISROOTED sind mit ihrem Sound grundsätzlich härter ausgerichtet und sie toben sich im Melodic Death Metal aus. Und wenn man sich die neue Single so anhört, wird man sofort feststellen, auf welch hohem Niveau hier die Noten geschmettert werden. Ein Song, der mit verdammt vielen Details ausgestattet ist und keinem Standardkonzept folgt. Achtet nur mal auf die Gitarren, die hier nicht nur mit satten Riffs auftreten, sondern mit wunderbar melodischen Leads agieren. Das ist schon eine Kunst für sich. Außerdem ist der Song mit diversen Rhyhtmus- und Stimmungswechseln gespickt, die nicht nur die Band, sondern auch den Hörer (heraus)fordern. Es ist halt kein eingängiger vorhersehbarer Song. Er verlangt beim Hören schon ein wenig Aufmerksamkeit, um ihn völlig genießen und schätzen zu können. Darüber hinaus bietet „Gone Too Far“ aber sicherlich auch genügend Momente, um den Schädel kreisen zu lassen. Es würde mich wahnsinnig freuen, wenn wir von DISROOTED mal einen Longplayer zu hören bekommen würden.

DISROOTED (Facebook) have a new single for you with „Gone Too Far“. The band are no strangers to ‚metal-heads.de‘, as we’ve been following them since their first single „Iconoclast“. Last year, the strong EP „Rise From The Depths“ was released (review). DISROOTED have always been able to inspire with great songs, which were also presented at an absolutely top technical level. As an international band, they were also able to get singer Enrico Longhin last year, who I personally knew from the great Italian progressive metal band ‚The Moor‘. In my opinion, this was an absolute stroke of luck for the band, because Enrico is a fantastic singer with an impressive technical variance. You can also convince yourself on the new release of ‚The Moor‘. (review „Ombra“)

DISROOTED’s sound is generally heavier and they’re banging with melodic death metal. And if you listen to the new single, you will immediately notice the high level at which the notes are struck here. It’s a song with a hell of a lot of detail and doesn’t follow a standard concept. Just take a look at the guitars, which not only play lush riffs here, but also have wonderfully melodic leads. This ist true art.

The song is also peppered with various rhythm and mood changes that not only challenge the band, but also the listener. It is simply not a catchy, predictable song. It demands a little attention when listening to it in order to fully enjoy and appreciate it. Beyond that, however, „Gone Too Far“ certainly offers enough moments to get your head spinning. I would be incredibly happy if we ever got to hear a longplayer from DISROOTED.

Wir von ‚metal-heads.de‘ begleiten DISROOTED (Facebook) seit ihrer ersten Single „Iconoclast“. Ich war von Beginn an sehr angetan von den Jungs. Die Qualität der Songs war schon bei der ersten Single sehr hoch und der erste gute Eindruck bestätigte sich in den folgenden Single-Veröffentlichungen umso mehr. Jetzt haben die Jungs einen neuen grandiosen Sänger gefunden und mit ihm die EP „Rise From The Depths“ produziert. Die EP ist bereits überhall digital verfügbar. Aber bald wird auch ein physisches Release folgen.

Die EP „RISE FROM THE DEPTHS“

tritt mit vier starken Songs auf. Wie gewohnt bleibt es technisch auf einem hohen Level. Der Opener „Beyond The Pale“ zeigt direkt die Krallen. Die Mischung zwischen den melodischen Parts und den dunkleren Growlpassagen klingt super und das Solo legt dann noch mal einen Zahn zu. Phänomenal!

In allen anderen Songs wird dieses Konzept genauso einducksvoll fortgeführt. Besonders hat es mir dabei der letzte Track „Dregs“ angetan. Der Song hat einen progressiveren Ansatz mit einem akustisch gehaltenen Mittelteil, wo sich die Qualitäten des neuen Sängers besonders eindrucksvoll hervorheben. „Dregs“ ist tatsächlich mein Liebling auf der EP, da er noch eine Schüppe drauflegt und die Vielseitigkeit dieser Band eindrucksvoll zur Schau stellt.

Jetzt habe ich viel über den neuen Sänger geschrieben ohne ihn beim Namen zu nennen. Wenn ihr wissen wollt, um wen es sich handelt, dann lest Euch doch mal das kurze Interview mit der Band durch.

Interview

MH: Hallo Ben! Ihr habt jüngst die neue EP „Rise From The Depths“ veröffentlicht. Es ist ein neuer Schritt in der Bandhistorie. Bisher hattet ihr vier Singles veröffentlicht: „Iconoclast“, „Dionysus‘ Wings“, „Dust And Demise“ und „Iron Flood“.
Mich hattet ihr direkt bei der ersten Single schon als Fan gewonnen. Ein mehr als überzeugende Debütsingle, die auch technisch auf einem hohen Level agierte. War das von Anfang der Anspruch an Euch selbst? War die Komposition der ersten Single besonders schwierig?

Ben: Hallo Dirk, zu erst einmal vielen Dank für das Interview! Es war auf jeden Fall von Anfang an unser Anspruch an uns selbst, dass das Material durchweg auf einem hohen Level angesiedelt ist. Wenn man die Cover-Version “Rats“ von GHOST mitzählt, waren es sogar bereits 5 Singles. Die Arbeit an diesem ersten Song “Iconoclast“ hat sich jetzt daher auch nicht wirklich von der Arbeit an den anderen Songs unterschieden.

Ein langer Weg zu gehen

MH: Hattet Ihr immer ein bestimmtes Ziel vor Augen oder habt ihr einfach darauf gewartet, wohin die Reise führen wird?

Ben: Eher letzteres. Also es war schon relativ früh klar dass wir nicht nur einzelne Singles veröffentlichen wollten, sondern schon auch ein Platte.

MH: Wie waren die bisherigen Reaktionen auf Eure Songs?

Ben: Eigentlich durchweg positiv und darüber sind wir natürlich sehr glücklich, was ja auch wiederum Ansporn ist weiterzumachen.

Der neue Sänger

MH: Ihr habt bisher immer mit verschiedenen Gastsängern zusammengearbeitet. Nun habt ihr mit Enrico Longhin einen Sänger gefunden, der mit Euch die vier Songs der neuen EP eingesungen hat. Wird er nun ständiges Mitglied bleiben?

Nun, ich will es hoffen, denn er ist ein großartiger Sänger mit einer großen Range, der sowohl die cleanen als auch die extremen Vocals bedienen kann.

Ben: Absolut! Enrico ist in jeder Hinsicht ein großer Gewinn für uns und die langfristige Zusammenarbeit ist auf jeden Fall geplant. Die Entscheidung mit Gastsängern zu arbeiten, welche die cleanen Gesangsparts übernahmen, ist quasi aus der Not heraus entstanden, aber ermöglichte uns mit den ersten Singles an die Öffentlichkeit zu gehen. Und das war ein super Start für uns. Anton, unser Bassist, hat in dieser Zeit einen tollen Job gemacht in dem er sämtliche Growls/Shouts übernahm.

MH: Von der EP ist der Song „Beyond The Pale“ die erste Singleveröffentlichung. Es ist die bisher erfolgreichste Single. Warum habt Ihr diesen Song ausgewählt? Weil es der erste Song auf der EP ist oder gibt es andere Gründe?

Ben: Für uns war es einfach die logische erste Single der EP. Das haben alle in der Band so gesehen. Mit der Reihenfolge hat das nichts zu tun, da wir uns bereits vor Festlegen der Songreihenfolge für “Beyond The Pale“ als erste Single entschieden und ja auch bereits ein Video dazu gedreht hatten.

Nach dem Release ist vor dem Release

MH: Bisher ist die EP rein digital erschienen. Wird es ein physisches Exemplar geben?

Ben: Ja auf jeden Fall, voraussichtlich noch im April.

MH: Nach der Veröffentlichung ist vor der Veröffentlichung. Gibt es Pläne für einen Longplayer?

Ben: Wir wollen auf jeden Fall ein Album aufnehmen, einiges an Songideen und Material ist auch bereits vorhanden.

Konzertpläne

MH: Wie sieht es denn mit Live-Auftritten aus? Ihr seid eine internationale Band und Sänger Enrico ist auch noch bei der Band THE MOOR (Homepage/Facebook) am Mikro. Diese Band ist übrigens auch sehr grandios. Da könntet ihr doch zusammen auftreten, oder nicht?

Ben: Live-Auftritte stehen für uns jetzt ganz klar im Fokus und wir würden gerne sehr viel mehr live spielen, aber seit oder bzw. nach Corona ist es leider alles andere als einfacher geworden auf dem Live-Sektor. Viele Clubs und Festivals sind schlichtweg insolvent, also nicht mehr da oder es ist extrem überlaufen, weil natürlich alle, die Grossen und die Kleinen, wieder spielen wollen und es sehr schwer ist überhaupt Termine zu finden oder zu bekommen.

THE MOOR sind auf jeden Fall sehr interessant und natürlich würden wir sofort zusammen auftreten. Da wir wie bereits erwähnt aus verschiedenen Ländern kommen, ist die Planung, natürlich auch alleine vom Logistischen her, etwas aufwendiger und daher auch meistens langfristiger.

Melodic Death Metal

We at ‚metal-heads.de‘ have been following DISROOTED (Facebook) since their first single „Iconoclast“. I was very taken with the guys from the beginning. The quality of the songs was already very high with the first single and the first good impression was confirmed even more in the following single releases. Now the guys have found a new great singer and produced the EP „Rise From The Dephts“ with him. The EP is already available digitally everywhere.

EP „RISE FROM THE DEPHTS“

performs four strong songs. As usual, it remains technically on a high level. The opener „Beyond The Pale“ shows directly the claws. The mixture between the melodic parts and the darker growl passages sounds great and the solo then goes up a notch. Phenomenal!

In all other songs this concept is continued excellently. I was particularly blown away with the last track „Dregs“. The song has a more diversity with an acoustic middle section where the qualities of the new singer stand out particularly impressively. „Dregs“ is actually my favorite on the EP, as it kicks it up a notch and impressively showcases the versatility of this band.

Interview

MH: Hello Ben! You have recently released the new EP „Rise From The Depths“. It’s a new step in the band history. So far you have released four singles: „Iconoclast“, „Dionysus‘ Wings“, „Dust And Demise“ and „Iron Flood“.
You already won me as a fan with the first single. A more than convincing debut single, which also acted technically on a high level. Was that the demand on yourselves from the beginning? Was the composition of the first single particularly difficult?

Ben: Hello Dirk, first of all thank you very much for the interview! It was definitely our claim to ourselves from the beginning that the material is consistently on a high level. If you count the cover version “Rats“ by GHOST, there were already 5 singles. The work on this first song “Iconoclast“ has not really differed from the work on the other songs.

A long way to go

MH: Did you always have a specific destination in mind or did you just wait to see where the journey would lead?

Ben: Rather the latter. So it was already relatively early clear that we wanted to release not only individual singles, but also a record.

MH: How were the reactions to your songs so far?

Ben: Actually positive throughout and of course we are very happy about that, which in turn is an incentive to continue.

The new singer

MH: So far you have always worked with different guest singers. Now you have found a singer with Enrico Longhin, who sang the four songs of the new EP with you. Will he now remain a permanent member?

Well, I want to hope so, because he is a great singer with a great range, who can handle both the clean and the extreme vocals.

Ben: Absolutely! Enrico is a great asset for us in every respect and the long-term collaboration is definitely planned. The decision to work with guest singers, who took over the clean vocals, was made out of necessity, so to speak, but allowed us to go public with the first singles. And that was a great start for us. Anton, our bass player, did a great job during this time by doing all the growls/shouts.

MH: From the EP, the song „Beyond The Pale“ is the first single release. It is the most successful single so far. Why did you choose this song? Because it is the first song on the EP or are there other reasons?

Ben: For us it was just the logical first single of the EP. Everyone in the band saw it that way. It has nothing to do with the order, because we had already decided on “Beyond The Pale“ as the first single before we decided on the song order and had already shot a video for it.

After the release is before the release

MH: So far, the EP has been released digitally only. Will there be a physical copy?

Ben: Yes definitely, probably still in April.

MH: After the release is before the release. Are there any plans for a longplayer?

Ben: We definitely want to record an album, some song ideas and material are already there.

Concert plans

MH: What about live performances? You are an international band and singer Enrico is also with the band THE MOOR (Homepage/Facebook) on the mic. By the way, this band is also very great. You could perform together, couldn’t you?

Ben: THE MOOR are definitely very interesting and of course we would immediately perform together. Since we come from different countries, as already mentioned, the planning is, of course, also alone from the logistical point of view, a bit more elaborate and therefore usually also more long-term.

Doch nun zur aktuellen Single „Beyond The Pale“, die als Startschuss für die am Anfang nächsten Jahres erscheinende EP ausgewählt wurde. Den Italiener Enrico Longhin konnte man als gesangliche Verstärkung gewinnen. Dieser soll aber nicht nur diesem Song seine Stimme geben, sondern als permanentes Bandmitglied fungieren. Daher hat er auch alle anderen Songs der kommenden EP eingesungen. Damit scheinen DISROOTED nun endlich das letzte Puzzleteil gefunden zu haben, um endlich voll durchzustarten. Dies hat ebenfalls zur Folge, dass die Band ab nächstes Jahr endlich auch live auftreten werden.

„Beyond The Pale“

ist erwartungsgemäß wieder mal ein Knaller. Die technischen Fähigkeiten sind über jeden Zeifel erhaben und so ist es keine Überraschung, dass man sich auch bei der neuen Single keinerlei Blöße gibt. Der Drummer dreht den Zündschlüssel und schon tritt man auf das Gaspedal. Und schon bald zeigt Sänger Enrico seine Künste mit seinen harschen Growls. Doch damit ist sein gesangliches Talent nicht am Ende. Denn seine cleanen Vocals können genauso auf ganzer Linie überzeugen. Der Song enthüllt trotz seiner Vehemenz eine feine Struktur, die den Song nicht zu einer stumpfen Angelegenheit werden lassen. Die Gitarren sind wie gewohnt sehr spielfreudig und das geshredderte Solo ist aller Ehren wert. Ein mitreißender Song voller Engergie, Kraft und Melodie!

The drummer turns the ignition key and they step on the gas pedal. And soon singer Enrico shows his skills with his harsh growls. But that’s not the end of his vocal talent. Because his clean vocals can also convince all along the line. The song reveals a fine structure despite its vehemence, which does not let the song become a dull impression. The guitars are as usual very playful and the shredded solo is worthy of all honors. A rousing song full of energy, power and melody!

Die aktuelle Single wurde die Single wieder einmal von Oliver V. Wiebe beim Studio HERTZWERK. Somit bleiben klangtechnisch keine Wünsche offen. Wie von DISROOTED bereits gewohnt, geht es wieder zur Sache. Allerdings kommen dieses mal wieder auch cleane Vocals zum Einsatz, für die Tim Demuth verantwortlich ist. „Iron Flood“ hat einen harschen und flotten Beginn. Doch im weiteren Verlauf offenbart eine schöne Wechselhaftigkeit, die zum einen durch den cleanen Gesang von Tim Demuth als Kontrast zu den harten Growls von Anton Varvikko ensteht, aber auch durch das schon fast progressive Songwriting. Neben diversen Rhythmuswechseln fügt sich der ruhige melancholische Part ab Minute 02:40 wunderbar ein und das erstklassig gespielte Gitarrensolo kommt dabei sehr schön zur Geltung. Geiler Song!

Im übrigen gibt es auf YouTube die Lyrics zu dem Song, die es wert sind gelesen zu werden. Die ernste und traurige Thematik ist leider immer aktuell.

DISROOTED (Facebook/Homepage) as an international band have already been presented a few times with their singles here on ‚metal-heads.de‘ („Iconoclast„, „Dionysus‘ Wings„, „Dust And Demise„). True to the motto -Support The Underground- we would like to draw your attention to the new single „Iron Flood“.

The current single was the single once again by Oliver V. Wiebe at the studio HERTZWERK. Thus, sound-technically everything is fine. As already known from DISROOTED, it goes to the point again. However, this time clean vocals are used again, for which Tim Demuth is responsible. „Iron Flood“ has a harsh and snappy beginning. But in the further course it reveals a nice changeability, which on the one hand by the clean vocals of Tim Demuth as a contrast to the hard growls of Anton Varvikko ensteht, but also by the almost progressive songwriting. In addition to various rhythm changes, the quiet melancholic part from minute 02:40 fits in wonderfully and the first-class played guitar solo comes into its own very nicely. Great song!

Incidentally, there are the lyrics to the song on YouTube, which are worth reading. The serious and sad subject matter is unfortunately always topical.

Die Melodic-Death-Metaller

DISROOTED (Facebook) sind bei ‚metal-heads.de‘ als vielversprechende Newcomer auch schon bekannt (Single „Iconoclast“ / Single „Dionysus‘ Wings“) Nun haben sie ihre mittlerweile vierte Single „Dust And Remise“ veröffentlicht und die wollen wir Euch natürlich nicht vorenthalten.

Doch bevor wir zur aktuellen Single kommen, möchten wir der Vollständigkeit halber das Cover des Songs „Rats“ von der Band GHOST nicht unerwähnt lassen. Denn dieses ist ebenfalls rundum gelungen und wie zu erwarten, gehen DISROOTED ihren eigenen Weg bei der Cover-Interpretation. Der im original eher sehr melodisch gehaltene Rocktrack wird bei DISROOTED zu einem knallharten Monster, das gnadenlos zuschlägt. Trotzdem finden sich die Melodien in dem Song wieder, so dass der Bezug zum Original nicht völlig verloren geht. Zum Vergleich haben wir Euch beide Videos hier bereitgestellt. Urteilt selbst!

„Dust And Demise“

ist die aktuelle Single und ein Original der Band. DISROOTED liefern bisher immer einwandfrei ab. Da macht auch dieser Song keine Ausnahme. Man wird vor lauter Tempo direkt in den Sitz gedrückt und die Backen flattern vor lauter Beschleunigung. Wie gewohnt spielt sich alles auf einem technisch hohen Niveau ab. Also ab auf die Überholspur mit dem Vollgas-Song „Dust And Demise“!

Kommentar der Band zur neuen Single:

Mit diesem neuen Song wollten wir über unseren klassischen Sound hinausgehen und die richtige Menge an Thrash und Death Metal mischen, ohne dabei die Gitarrenmelodien aus den Augen zu verlieren. Aus diesem Grund wollten wir uns ausschließlich auf die Stimme unseres Bassisten Anton verlassen, die perfekt für diesen schnellen und aggressiven Song ist. Bleibt dran für Updates, wir kommen bald mit neuer Musik zurück!

DISROOTED (Facebook) are already known at ‚metal-heads.de‘ as promising newcomers (Single „Iconoclast“ / Single „Dionysus‘ Wings“). Now they have released their fourth single „Dust And Remise“ and of course we don’t want to keep it from you.

But before we come to the current single, we would like to mention the cover of the song „Rats“ by the band GHOST for the sake of completeness. Because this is also completely successful and as expected, DISROOTED go their own way in the cover interpretation. The original rather melodic rock track becomes a hard-hitting monster with DISROOTED, which strikes mercilessly. Nevertheless, the melodies are found in the song again, so that the reference to the original is not completely lost. For comparison we have provided you both videos here. Judge for yourself!

„Dust And Demise“

is the current single and an original of the band. DISROOTED always deliver flawlessly so far. This song is no exception. The insane tempo pushes you directly into the seat and the cheeks flutter before because of the crazy acceleration. As usual, everything happens on a technically high level. So off to the fast lane with the full throttle song „Dust And Demise“!

With this new song we wanted to go beyond our classic sound and mix the right amount of thrash and death metal without losing sight of the guitar melodies. For this reason we wanted to rely solely on our bassist Anton’s voice, which is perfect for this fast and aggressive song. Stay tuned for updates, we’ll be back with new music soon!

Melodic Death Metal

einer musikalisch schlagkräftigen Truppe namens DISROOTED (Facebook), über die wir bei `metal-heads.de´ bereits vor einigen Wochen berichtet haben. Denn da hatten sie mit ihrer ersten Single „Iconoclast“ auf sich aufmerksam gemacht. Die Debütsingle war ein richtiges Brett und man merkte dem Song sofort an, dass die Jungs technisch an allen Fronten ne Menge zu bieten haben. Der zweite Streich „Dionysus‘ Wings“

bestätigt das hohe Niveau der Debütsingle. Der Song beginnt locker flockig mit schönen Melodien und legt schon mal mit einem kleinen Gitarrensolo los. So kann man einen Song auch mal einleiten. Aber kurze Zeit später ist es soweit und der Song treibt mit druckvollem Drumming und scharfem Riffing (Marius Zemla) heftig nach vorne. DISROOTED zeigen auch hier, wie man gegensätzliche Vocals spannend und spektakulär miteinander verbindet. Dabei werden die martialischen Growls wieder gnadenlos brutal von Sänger Anton Varvikko rausgebrettert und diesmal ist Gastsänger Gianba Manenti (THE UNITY) für die cleanen Vocals zuständig. Das temperamentvolle und variable Drumming (Ben Overmann) macht ordentlich was her und die Künste an der Leadgitarre (Luca Bonometti) inclusive Solos von sind ein wahrer Ohrenschmaus. Auch das spannende Songwriting ist weit über dem Standard. Alles in allem wieder ein mehr als überzeugende Vorstellung. DISROOTED muss man definitiv auf dem Schirm haben.

a musically powerful band called DISROOTED (Facebook) , about whom `metal-heads.de´ already reported a few weeks ago. Because there they had drawn attention with their first single „Iconoclast“. The debut single was a real burner and it is immediately clear that the guys have a lot to offer in any case. So you should definitely check out this post too! (Link)

The second single „Dionysus‘ Wings“

confirms the high level of the debut single. The song begins easy-going with beautiful melodies and a fine guitar solo. This is how you can introduce a song impressively. But a short time later the song drives with powerful drumming and sharp riffing (Marius Zemla) violently forward. DISROOTED also show here how to combine opposing vocals in an exciting and spectacular way. The martial growls are again mercilessly brutal from singer Anton Varvikko and this time guest singer Gianba Manenti from THE UNITY is responsible for the clean vocals. The spirited and variable drumming (Ben Overmann) is awesome and the lead guitar including solos by (Luca Bonometti) are a real joy. Also the exciting songwriting is far above the standard. All in all again a more than convincing performance. DISROOTED will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

Es ist mir immer wieder eine Freude, wenn sich neue vielversprechende Bands oder Künstler auftun. Nun macht aktuell eine internationale Band auf sich aufmerksam, die aktuell in der Domstadt Köln beheimatet sind.
DISROOTED (Facebook) setzen sich aus aus vier Jungs zusammen. Vorab ein kurzes Statement der Band, bevor es um den Song geht.

Der Moment ist gekommen. Nach Wochen und Monaten der Vorbereitung sind
wir stolz, endlich die Früchte unserer Arbeit mit euch zu teilen und
euch unsere ersten Songs zu präsentieren.
Wir sind eine internationale Band mit Wurzeln in Deutschland, Finnland
und Italien. Trotz einiger Herausforderungen durch die gelegentliche
räumliche Distanz, sind wir vereint in unserer Leidenschaft und freuen
uns darauf, nicht nur unsere Musik mit euch zu teilen, sondern euch auch
bald persönlich zu treffen und ein Bier mit euch zu trinken.
Wir sind DISROOTED! Wir sind bereit! Beginnt dieses neue Kapitel mit uns
gemeinsam!

Na das ist doch mal ne herzliche Einladung. Fehlt halt nur noch die passende musikalische Untermalung.

„Iconoclast“

unterstreicht die nette Einladung der Jungs nicht ganz so herzlich, sondern mit einem fetten musikalischen Arschtritt, der mich direkt in die Fanbase von DISROOTED katapultiert. „Iconoclast“ geht unmittelbar in die vollen. Da wird gar nicht lange lamentiert, sondern Tacheles geredet. Die Jungs prügeln sich massiv und brutal in die Gehörgänge. Die Zutaten sind nicht neu, aber der aggressive Sound klingt trotzdem frisch und unverbraucht. Der kontrastierende Gesang zwischen den martialischen Screams und Growls von Anton Varvikko und der cleanen melodiösen Voice von Gastsänger Dan Picknell wird gut umgesetzt. Die Vocals von Anton sind unerbittlich und machen richtig Feuer. Besonders gut hat mir z.B. auch die jaulende Leadgitarre gefallen, die mit ihren langgezogenen Akkorden eine besondere Präsenz erzeugt (z.B. ab Sekunde 23). Alles in allem gibt es die volle Breitseite und die Debütsingle ist mehr als vielversprechend.

Passenderweise wurde die Debütsingle “ Iconoclast“ vom CALIBAN-Gitarristen Marc Görtz gemixt und von Olman Wiebe im Hamburger Studio Hertzwerk gemasterd. Dort haben auch schon Bands wie CALIBAN, PYOGENISIS und EMIL BULLS ihre Alben veredeln lassen. Das Ergebnis ist dementsprechend erstklassig geworden.

It is always a pleasure for me when new promising bands or artists emerge. Now an international band currently draws attention to itself, which are currently based in the city of Cologne.
DISROOTED (Facebook) are made up of four guys. First a short statement of the band, before it’s about the song.

The moment has come. After long weeks and months of hard work, we’re
ready to present you with the fruits of our labor. To that end, we’re
going to share our first songs with all of you in the upcoming weeks.
We are an international band with roots in Germany, Finland and Italy.
Despite some challenges due to the occasional spatial distance, we’re
united in our passion to showcase our style, to hit the stage again, and
to have a drink with you as soon as possible.
A new chapter is now beginning for us and we’re more than excited to
share it with all of you!

„Iconoclast“

underlines the nice invitation of the guys not quite so cordially, but with a fat musical ass-kicking, which catapults me directly into the fanbase of DISROOTED. „Iconoclast“ goes immediately into full power. The guys beat themselves massively and brutally into the auditory canals. Okay, the ingredients are not new, but the aggressive sound still sounds fresh and unspent. The contrasting vocals between the martial screams and growls of Anton Varvikko and the clean melodic voice of guest vocalist Dan Picknell is well executed. Anton’s vocals are relentless and really fire. I also particularly liked the jangling lead guitar, for example, which creates a special presence with its drawn-out chords (e.g. from second 23). All in all, there is the full broadside and the debut single is more than promising.

Fittingly, the debut single “ Iconoclast“ was mixed by CALIBAN guitarist Marc Görtz and mastered by Olman Wiebe at Hamburg’s Studio Hertzwerk. Bands like CALIBAN, PYOGENISIS and EMIL BULLS have also had their albums mastered there. The result is accordingly first-class.
