Tomás stellt die Band Abbie Falls vor
metal-heads.de: Hi Tomás, nice to meet you soon at the Rage Against Racism Festival here in Duisburg. First of all, could you please introduce yourself and your band Abbie Falls to our readers?
Tomás von Abbie Falls: Hello, so Abbie Falls as a band started somewhere in 2015 but we started to get under people’s radar at the start of the COVID 2020 releasing our first single Amphisbaena. It was the first song which attracted people outside of Czech Republic. Shortly after we release our first EP No Ones Above, No One Below which was our first solid piece of music and that attracted a lot of people. We are now above 5mil. streams across the platforms. There are 5 members – Tomáš vocals, Lukáš guitar, Adam guitar, Vojta guitar and Patrik drums. Yup, we have 3 guitars and no base, because why not. We are inspired by a lot of artist, not necessary from metal but across all the genres. For example I love Lady Gaga and you can for sure hear it in some tracks, hehe.
metal-heads.de: How is life as a band in Prague, Czech? Do you have an active metal scene over there and many possibilities to play live shows?
Tomás von Abbie Falls: The scene is small, but its really welcoming. There is a lot of underground concerts when you see the same people over and over. Its like family gathering every friday. There is a lot of venues which are offering a really good deals even for starting bands.
metal-heads.de: As your band Abbie Falls exists since 2015, did you played a lot of shows in Germany so far?
Tomás von Abbie Falls: We started to play outside of Czech Republic from 2020. Yes, we also had a chance to play Summer Breeze, Core Fest. We love playing Germany, mainly cause people go nuts for breakdowns.
metal-heads.de: Well, your metalcore and deathcore sound really has a lot of power and energy. I love your song „Death Row“ by the way. So what kind of show will we get here from you ? You have 40minutes of stage time!
Tomás von Abbie Falls: We just wanna have fun on stage and want the people to be part of the fun. You will also hear some drum and base and techno 😀 Everybody is welcome to do whatever they desire. The more crazy shit you guys pull off, the more happy we will be.
Der Song „Death Row“ als Musikvideo
metal-heads.de: So we all are looking forward to hear songs of your first longplayer called „No One´s Above, No One´s Below“ from 2021 and from your EP „Hell is Other People“ from 2021. Do you also bring new songs to the crowd here?.
Tomás von Abbie Falls: We will play what we have released so far. Maybe you will get a small taste of our new music. But you will for sure hear a lot of crazy mixes in between the songs.
In Tschechien sind Rassisten und Faschisten in Clubs nicht willkommen
metal-heads.de: Well, the Rage Against Racism Festival in Duisburg has a long traditon. It is an open air concert with 14 bands in two days and without charge. More than 3000 Metalheads will be celebrating peacefully here. But the most important fact is the the festival motto will be that we all stand against Racism. And this gets more and more mportant these days. I dont want to get too much into politics here, but how is the position of the band Abbie Falls to this? And how is the music scene in Czech dealing with the subject Racism in General?
Tomás von Abbie Falls: Everyone is welcome. What we love about music is that there are no borders and you are accepted the way you are. In Czech Republic the message its pretty clear. Dont even come to the venue, you’re not welcome there if you’re racist, fascist. Every band I know in Czech strongly support this message.
metal-heads.de: That sounds good. As coming to the end of our little interivew the last words are on you. What do you want to let your German fans know for now?
Abbie Falls haben euch was zu sagen!
Tomás von Abbie Falls: We comin for you Germany and we want to see something crazy, whatever you can come up with for our set. We promise you to bring the best of us and we want to see the same from you.
metal-heads.de: „Díky moc“ for your time, Tomás. Looking forward to your show and meeting you backstage!
Tomás von Abbie Falls: Get the beer ready, looking forward to it! Take care
