Willkommen mit UNTAMED RAGE (Facebook/Homepage) im tiefsten Underground. Die zwei Musiker haben schon seit einigen Monaten einige Singles rausgebracht, die auch jeweils in unserer Playlist ‚METHALHEADs new stuff‘ vertreten waren. Nach langer musikalischer Schaffenspause erwarten euch sechs Songs mit old school Extreme Metal, der mit unbändiger Wut und Aggression in einer Mixtur aus Thrash und Hardcore entgegengeschleudert wird. Beachtenswert ist zudem der Umstand, dass die EP auch auf CD erscheint. Das ist heutzutage gerade im Underground nicht selbstverständlich.

UNTAMED RAGE halten sich nicht mit einem Intro auf, sondern ballern mit „Minds In Decay“ umgehend drauflos. Das fetzt und röhrt wie eine tollwütige Wildsau. Ja, UNTAMED RAGE haben ne Menge loszuwerden und prangern diverse gesellschaftliche Missstände in ungeschönter Schonungslosigkeit an. Nun, kein Wunder… Missstände gibt es ja mehr als genug. Dahingehend ist auf die Menschheit leider immer Verlass.

So hat sich eine Menge Wut bei den Künstlern angestaut. Dementsprechend werden die Lyrics aggressiv und schonungslos rausgeschossen. Das ist zwar gesanglich keine Offenbarung, passt aber sehr wohl gut zu dem Sound und intensiviert die rohe ungeschliffene Atmosphäre. „Minds In Decay“ ist jedenfalls ein Hammersong! Kurz die Nackenmuskeln gedehnt und ab geht’s!

UNTAMED RAGE agieren sehr direkt und unmissverständlich. Das Tempo ist häufig hoch, aber sie drosseln auch mal das Tempo, wie z.B. beim Song „Sounds Of Vengeance“. Man ist also schon bemüht, nicht nur plump die Fresse im Akkord zu polieren, sondern dem Sound auch eine gewisse atmosphärische Tiefe zu verleihen. Das ist ihnen auch hier gelungen.

„Deep Blue Grave“ ist mir leider etwas zu eindimensional geraten. Auch die dezenten Synthies können mich nicht so recht überzeugen. Ist mir im Ganzen zu monoton geraten und reißt mich nicht so richtig mit. „Into The Gale Of Death“ entwickelt da schon mehr Dynamik und nimmt mich wieder mit. Dies lässt sich aber mit „Cross Of Betrayal“ noch weiter steigern. Dieser Songtornado entfesselt ein zerstörerisches Inferno, aus dem es kein Entkommen gibt. Hier wird nicht rumgeeiert, sondern gnadenlos abgerechnet.

Fazit

UNTAMED RAGE bringen ihre Message auf ihrer EP „Dismantled Illusions“ unmissverständlich knallhart auf den Punkt. Sechs Songs ohne Rumgeplänkel, die mit viel Wut und Aggression schonungslos geschmettert werden. Insgesamt könnten die Songs noch feiner ausgearbeitet und mehr Atmosphäre entwickeln, aber im Ergebnis bekommt ihr einen rauen Sound, der aggressiv, druckvoll und mitreißend in die Ohren knallt. Und damit ist die Mission voll und ganz erfüllt.

Welcome to the deepest underground with UNTAMED RAGE (Facebook/Homepage). The two musicians have already released several singles in the last few months, which were also featured in our playlist ‚METHALHEAD’s new stuff‘. After long time of musical hiatus, six songs of old school extreme metal await you, hurled at you with unbridled fury and aggression in a mixture of thrash and hardcore. It’s also worth noting that the EP is also available on CD. This is not a matter of course in the underground scene.

UNTAMED RAGE don’t bother with an intro, but blast off immediately with „Minds In Decay“. It shreds and roars like a rabid wild sow. Yes, UNTAMED RAGE have many clear words that they hurl at their listeners. They denounce various social ills with unvarnished ruthlessness. Unfortunatly there are more than enough grievances and cruelty in the world.

A lot of anger has built up among the artists. Accordingly, the lyrics are shot out aggressively and relentlessly. Although this is no revelation vocally, it fits the sound very well and intensifies the raw, unpolished atmosphere. “Minds In Decay” is definitely a blast! Just stretch your neck muscles and off you go!

UNTAMED RAGE are very direct and unmistakable. The tempo is often high, but they also slow it down from time to time, such as on the song “Sounds Of Vengeance”. So they don’t just try to brutally punch you in the face all the time, but also to give the sound a certain atmospheric depth. They have succeeded in doing this here too.

Unfortunately, „Deep Blue Grave“ is a little too one-dimensional for me. The subtle synths don’t really convince me either. Overall, it’s too monotonous for me and doesn’t really get me going. „Into The Gale Of Death“ develops more dynamics and takes me along again. But this can be increased even further with „Cross Of Betrayal“. This song tornado unleashes a destructive inferno that blows you away. There’s no messing around here, just a merciless reckoning.

Conclusion

UNTAMED RAGE get their message straight to the point on their EP “Dismantled Illusions”. Six songs without any skirmishes, relentlessly blasted with a lot of anger and aggression. Overall, the songs could be more elaborate and develop more atmosphere, but the result is a raw sound that blasts aggressively, powerfully and thrillingly into your ears. And with that, the mission is fully accomplished.
