„Give It All“ lässt das Saxophon aufleben.
Conclusion

STRIKER (Facebook) from Canada stand for classic heavy metal in the style of the 80s. They have already released several albums since their formation in 2007, all of which are undoubtedly really well done. In terms of style, they haven’t changed much. The new album „Ultrapower“ will also make you feel right at home… and yet the album has become something different.
The title „Ultrapower“ says it all and the cover with the big V8 big block from with the shooting flames completes the impression and creates the expectation that the album is going to be a blast. And I can tell you in advance that your expectations will not be disappointed. However, you have to be prepared for the fact that STRIKER have embraced the 80s flair more than ever. It has become more colorful and more party-oriented. And yet the album is really powerful. Your hair will definitely stand on end when some songs unleash a real storm.
The sound and flair of the new album cannot be conveyed more clearly than in the first single „Best Of The Best“. A song soaked in 80’s feeling, which simply rocks like hell and leaves no one sitting on their chair. What a great track! And the video is bomb! It couldn’t be better! Have fun with the metal party!
A lot of fun is guaranted!
However, STRIKER are far from finished with this, they have just warmed up. „Circle Of Evil“ is a raging banger that goes all out without any gimmicks. Screaming guitar solos will electrify you. And there are more than enough of them on this album. STRIKER have taken it to the extreme with the song „Blood Magic“, where the band shoots around wildly with solos. But first it is introduced with a cool western flair. It doesn’t take long before the horses are spurred on. But if you think that’s the way it goes, you’re wrong. It is probably the song with the strongest contrasts. Everything is mixed together in a very cool way and, as already mentioned, there are solos until the (air) guitar burns.
Let’s move on to another song that comes with a really cool feature. „Give It All“ brings the saxophone back to life. An instrument that, in my opinion, gets far too little attention in rock and metal. As you can hear here, it works wonderfully in this song. Not the heaviest song on the album, but still a mega hit!
STRIKERS hardly give the V8 engine a break. They often only want to reach high speeds or spin hot donuts. In any case, „Ready For Anything“ roars along at top speed and knows only one direction. The tires smoke and the asphalt burns. And that happens with many songs on the album. But there are also songs away from the high-speed highways. „City Calling“ or „Thunderdome“ are not speedsters, but this not a problem at all. These slower songs are also really great and all have hit potential because they simply radiate a huge dose of good feelings.
Conclusion
As they say in bowling, if you clear all the pins with one throw: It’s a strike! STRIKER have achieved a super strike with their album „Ultrapower“. All the songs on this album are real hits! Every song has its own character and rocks like hell. It’s a wonderful homage to the 80s. I would say: The STRIKER engine is running at full power!
