ANY GIVEN DAY (Facebook/Homepage) haben es geschafft!
Mir persönlich gefällt immer noch „My Longest Way Home“ am besten.
Fette Ansage
Fazit
ANY GIVEN DAY liefern mit „Limitless“ gewohnt starken modernen Metalcore.

ANY GIVEN DAY (Facebook/Homepage) have made it! The band from Germany, founded in 2012, have played their way into the hearts of fans with their modern metalcore and became a very popular band. And they are also earning praise and recognition outside Germany. They are living their dream. I can still remember the cover of the Rihanna song „Diamonds“, which came out 10 years ago. That was a killer! Since then, things have been going uphill for the band.
Their albums „Everlasting“ and „Overpower“ were successful in the German charts. Personally, I still like „My Longest Way Home“ the best. But I’ll get to that later. Now the new album „Limitless“ will soon available. And I’m sure that the album will be just as successful.
Fat statement
The opener „Get That Done“ convinces with potent power and vehement aggression. A typical modern metalcore song with aggressive verses and a melodic chorus. This is followed by a short, massive breakdown part, which is then followed by a short solo. So all the elements are perfectly mixed for a high entertainment value and a lot of head-banging.
The successful formula
is constantly maintained. There isn’t a song where harmonious clean vocals don’t appear in the chorus. So they continue on the safe path, but it’s all somehow predictable and for me personally a small point of criticism. I really have nothing against clean vocals and singer Dennis does a fantastic job in every respect. There’s nothing to criticize. I just think it’s a pity sometimes that they don’t deviate from this hard vocals vs. soft vocals concept. Why can’t one just let a hard smasher be a hard smasher? Why they always have to switch back to the softer melodies?
Clean vocals had already been used on the album „My Longest Way Home“, but they were used in different doses and in a more differentiated way. Songs like „Dead And Gone“, „My Own Sweet Hell“ or „Never Say Die“ (almost) managed without clean vocals and relied more on powerful, eccentric arrangements. „If Tomorrow Never Shows“ is still a mega song for me. It sounded fresher and crisper, at least to me, with sharper corners and sharp edges. It was less predictable.

Mostly predictable
„Apocalypse“, for example, is moreover a soft song, where hard vocals are thrown in for a moment. Then it suddenly escalates from minute 02:45, only to switch back to the soft harmonies after about 20 seconds. It doesn’t really fit together coherently, at least for me, because I have the feeling that the song doesn’t know what it wants. The same concept can also be found in „Best Time“ and „My Way“. There, however, such elements fit in better and in „My Way“ it is combined with an awesome rocking flash finger solo. The duet with the band ANNISOKAY on the song „H.A.T.E.“ is very well done and brings a new component into play with the two different vocal colors.
But there is another little surprise with the song „Come Whatever May“. ANY GIVEN DAY have a really cool song at the start, which brings a slightly different flair, especially at the beginning. The song is introduced in the best western heavy rock style in the first minute. The transition into the powerful stomping part is really well done and the song comes across with strong gimmicks as it progresses.
Conclusion
ANY GIVEN DAY deliver their usual strong modern metalcore with „Limitless“. Fatly produced bangers mixed with familiar ingredients. A lot of banging goes hand in hand with melodic vocals. Anyone who has loved the band for this sound so far will also be thrilled by the new album, because it is a very mature album with a lot of top-class songs.
