MUCKY PUP feiern 40 Jahre und Hammerheart Records begleitet das große Comeback.

Vier Jahrzehnte nach ihrer Gründung melden sich Mucky Pup mit echten Knallermeldungen zurück. Die New-Jersey-Legende dreht 2027 zum 40. Jubiläum noch einmal voll auf. Mit einem frisch unterschriebenen Deal bei Hammerheart Records startet die Band in eine neue Ära, in der Nostalgie, Herzblut und der typische Mucky-Pup-Wahnsinn aufeinandertreffen. Die Crossover-Veteranen feiern ihre Geschichte – und setzen gleichzeitig ein deutliches Zeichen, dass sie noch lange nicht zum alten Eisen gehören.

Reunion in Originalbesetzung – neues Album in Arbeit

Die vielleicht größte Überraschung: Mucky Pup arbeiten an einem neuen Studioalbum – und zwar in der klassischen „A Boy In A Man’s World“-Besetzung. Genau jene Formation also, die den unverwechselbaren Mix aus Hardcore, Thrash, Humor und rotzigem East Coast Charme geprägt hat und damit maßgeblich den Weg für Bands wie Dog Eat Dog ebnete. Die Fans dürfen sich auf frisches Material freuen, das den Spirit der späten 80er und frühen 90er wieder einfängt, ohne – so die Hoffnung – altbacken zu wirken.

Kultalben kehren zurück – remastered, erweitert, liebevoll aufbereitet

Hammerheart Records packen zusätzlich ein echtes Geschenk für Sammler und Szene-Nerds aus: Die ersten drei Mucky-Pup-Alben „Can’t You Take a Joke?“, „A Boy in a Man’s World“ und „NOW“ erscheinen 2027 neu aufgelegt, frisch remastered und mit überarbeitetem Artwork. Dazu gibt’s seltenes Archivmaterial und zehn Original-Demos von 1987, darunter zwei bislang unveröffentlichte Songs. Die Macher des Nord Open Air Festivals melden die finalen Bands

In wenigen Wochen, genauer gesagt am 29. + 30.07.2022, wird das Nord Open Air Festival am Viehofer Platz in Essen sein Comeback feiern. Dies und das konntet ihr ja schon in unserer letzten News vom 27.05.22 lesen. Die Eckdaten zum umsonst und draußen Festival sind die alten geblieben. Stattfinden wird das 2 Tages Festival, wie oben schon erwähnt am: 29. + 30.07.2022 an gewohnter Adresse. Auf Grund des zu erwartenden Besucheransturms wird empfohlen mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln nach Essen zu reisen. Für die Besucher, die mit dem PKW anreisen werden, gibt es hier die Adresse für das Navi:

Bringt Geld mit

Was muss der Besucher mitbringen? Nun, das ist ganz einfach. Neben guter Laune und Enthusiasmus: einfach Geld mitbringen. Auch das N:O:A: lebt von seinen Umsätzen. Das die finanzielle Situation für kleinere- und mittelgroße Festivals durch die aktuellen Umstände mehr als prekär sind, wird ja wohl mittlerweile jede*r mitbekommen haben. Also, deshalb noch mal der Aufruf: unterstützt eure Lieblings- Festivals und Veranstaltungsorte! Kauft Merch- und esst und trinkt bis es nicht mehr geht. Im Prinzip alles ganz einfach, oder? Gwar veröffentlichen endlich ihr Comback-Album mit dem Titel „The Blood Of Gods“. Lange, ja sehr lange mussten die Fans auf neues Material der Scumdogs warten. Als am 23. März 2014 Frontmann Dave Brockie im Alter von 50 Jahren an einer Heroin-Überdosis starb, beschloss die Formation eine Pause zu machen. Nun melden sich die Jungs zurück und ließen bereits im Frühjahr verlauten:

…The band is working on a new album and a whole new show that will blow your minds faster and harder than a meth addicted hooker blows a paycheck. Also, GWAR are about to take on the craziest year of touring in the band’s recent history, and will be destroying North America literally all year! We are still lining up dates for the year long killing spree, but don’t worry Bohabs, GWAR will be coming to visit all of your little shithole towns, and together, we will Make America Bleed Again! And as a little treat for all you Bohabs, GWAR can confirm their first tour dates set for April. The Scumdogs will hit Reading, PA, Columbus, OH and will headline the Berserker Metal Fest in Detroit, MI. Tickets for all of these shows go on sale this Friday February 10th.

Details about the new album remain sketchy, partly because the band wants to proceed with great secrecy, and partly because they have been very busy playing Pokémon GO. Suffice to say that they are working an album that will change the world as we know it, altering the consciousness of all living things. More details about the recording will be made available “when we fucking want to tell you”, says guitarist Pustulus Maximus. We wait with (mastur) bated breath!!

Das Blut der Götter läuft nicht nur aus den Boxen…

…sondern auch aus den Ohren. Blothar, so der Name des neuen Fronters, gibt nun den Ton an. Jedoch sitzt nicht jeder Ton auf der Platte, da seine Stimme noch recht ungeübt wirkt und nicht genug Durchsetzungskraft besitzt. Auch musikalisch wirken die Jungs etwas außer Form. Es befinden sich zwar sehr starke Lieder wie „Viking Death Machine“, welches durch seinen catchy Refrain lebt, oder auch „I’ll Be Your Monster“, welches wohl eines der ruhigsten Lieder in der Bandgeschichte darstellt, auf der Platte. Doch es ist kein klares Konzept zu erkennen. Hier ist mal ein Song der Marke Hard-Rock, da ein bisschen Pop-Rock sowie ein bisschen Thrash an der einen oder anderen Ecke zu hören. Leider gelingt der Neustart mit „The Blood Of Gods“ nicht wirklich und will auch nach mehrmaligen durchhören nicht zünden. Schade!
