FIRE WHEEL auf dem Rage Against Racism 2023
[ENGLISH VERSION BELOW]
MH: Was sind eure Hauptthemen?

ENGLISH VERSION
In our series of pre-interviews for this year’s Rage Against Racism Festival, we have the honour to introduce FIRE WHEEL to you today.
On Friday, 09.06.23 at 4:30 pm, FIRE WHEEL from France will be the first metal band to open this year’s Rage Against Racism Festival. Thanks to the band for taking the time for a short interview.
Live is our favourite playground
MH: It’s not easy to find some information about you on the net. Maybe you would like to introduce yourself?
FIRE WHEEL: We are Fire Wheel, a metal band from the North of France, we exist since 2015. Our influences are large, but the three major influences we could find inspiration into are Gojira, Lamb of God, and Behemoth. We currently have 2 albums available, the first one is called Ignited, and the second one is called Decayed. We have a pretty nice experience in live playing, this is by far our favorite playground.
Who could say no to that
MH: France is quite a distance away. Are you coming to Germany just for our small (but great) festival or are you on tour right now?
FIRE WHEEL: Indeed it’s quite a distance away but our music doesn’t have any border, we are coming to Germany especially for this gig as we have been invited thanks to a friend of us ( Daniel Jung ). Currently, we are not touring, we are focusing more on creating and recording new stuff, but come on, who would refuse a German festival ?
The topics never run out
MH: What are your main topics? Are there special topics that you deal with in your songs and lyrics?
FIRE WHEEL: Our lyrics are comitted, we do stand against ecological abuses, brain washing, philosophical topics, such as the place we have in this world, the ability of men to self destruct or the fatality of death and its importance in how we live. Those are our main topics, but this list isn’t exhaustive.
Extremism is no option
MH: The RaR stands for a clear stance against right-wing extremism. What points of contact do you have with this topic?
FIRE WHEEL: As I mentionned before, our lyrics are mainly based on moving forward and criticizing what’s wrong in our society. And racism is such a big thing we got to change, this is something we sure stand against, and will always do. Extremism is not an option for us, and never will it be.
Warm up your necks
MH: Thank you for your time and I would like to give you space for a final word to our readers and festival visitors for this year’s RaR Festival!
FIRE WHEEL: Well, what a hard task ! First We would like to thank you for this interview. It’s always a pleasure to be given the opportunity to talk about what we do. And then we would like to thank the festival for having us, they won’t regret it. Special thanks to Daniel without whom we would never have been playing there. And last, but not least, to all the metalheads coming to the festival, warm up your necks, your shoulders, and everything you can, because we will be waiting for them in the pit !
