(Review).
Fazit

SOCIAL DISORDER (Facebook) were already reviewed here at metal-heads.de in 2021 with their debut album „Love 2 Be Hated“. (review). Now they’re back with their new album „Time To Rise“. There are again 10 songs that want to entertain you.
Still top class
presents the men’s guild around Anders LA Rönnblom. He once again relies on musicians who already served him very well on the last album.(If you want to know more about the line up of this all-star-band, please have a look here). I’m also glad that Thomas Nordin is back on board, because he’s a fantastic singer. He shows the full range of his vocal potential on the new album too. You couldn’t wish for a better one on the mic. With his great vocals, as well as his power and emotionality, he immediately wins the hearts of the listeners.
The opener and title track „Time To Rise“ immediately demonstrates the band’s qualities. A great song with a crisp, hard style. That’s a strong statement to start with. I also like the asynchronous riffs in places, which give the sound a special touch. Apart from that, everything is wonderfully harmonious and the vocal performance is, as expected, top-notch.
Super bandwidth
Immediately afterwards, SOCIAL DISORDER show their versatility, because „High On Life“ is a relaxed classic hard rock number, where the Hammond organ comes along, which sounds always cool and is never out of fashion. A nice groovy guitar solo is also a must. The recipe is wonderfully seasoned with fine, harmonious synths and delivers excellent fare. Great!
The mix of songs is once again great. A nice range of music that can also inspire with ballads like „Free Your Spirit“. I haven’t heard the sounds of a harmonica in rock for a long time, although it is an excellent instrument with a unique charm. It fits in really well and I would have liked the harmonica to have been integrated even more.
„Forged In Fire“ rocks harder again and is more similar in style to the title track. This song is also a shining example of the fine, appealing, high-quality guitar work in the solo section. The title „Can’t Get You Out Of My Head“ always makes me think of the pop megahit by pop starlet Kylie Minogue from 2001. A very simple song that you can dance and sing along to no matter how drunk you are. Fortunately, SOCIAL DISORDER are more sophisticated and deliver a pure rocker with a good dose of blues. Cool!
With the second video single „Dancing In The Rain“, we get another emotional ballad. A showcase role for singer Thomas, who gives a brilliant performance here on a soulful level. The choir also adds some light gospel vibes. The instrumentation is deliberately reduced to the essentials. Piano, a subtle synth carpet with a gentle bass are completely sufficient here. A gentle guitar solo blends in beautifully.
Fazit
With „Time To Rise“, SOCIAL DISORDER present a worthy follow-up to their last album. Once again, you can expect flawless rock songs that provide a lot of entertaining impressions. A real musical delight!
