Jonnie Hodson, einige Fragen gestellt. Und Antworten bekommen. Hier geht’s zu unserem Vorab-Interview!

Silverroller und ihr Bassist aus Brasilien
metal-heads.de: Thanks for this interview First of all please introduce your band to our German readers.
Silverroller: Hallo! Thank you for reaching out, we’re really excited to be coming to Germany for the first time. Rev. Jonnie Hodson here, I’m the frontman of this rock n‘ roll outfit, Sammy Murdock is on guitar, Joe Major is on drums, Jack Scully, my fellow scouser, is on bass and all the way from Sao Palo Brazil is Lucas Tadini on bass.I think we all have a real mixture of reasons why we started playing, but for me discovering Paul Rodgers was the moment everything clicked. I wanted what ever that magic was that he seemed to have, specially with Free and Bad Company. Then I discovered the blues, Muddy, John Lee, Lightnin‘, Wolf, Sonny Boy, Elmore, BB, Freddie, Albert King, all those guys, too many to mention, really sent me on a journey. I discovered soul through the blues guys, too. I think having that education in blues and soul has really helped me, the way those guys played space, allowed songs to eb and flow, breathe etc. It’s all the things I really want to hear in the music we make. To me, the „mood“ and the „feel“ of a song is far more important than it’s technicalities. I certainly get that from the blues, and of course from bands like Free, Zeppelin, Humble Pie.
Zum ersten Mal live in Deutschland am Start
metal-heads.de: We are very happy to see you live in Germany very soon as you go on a Little Tour in September. Is this the First time ever for You to Play live in Europe and how excited are you?
Silverroller: We have been to The Netherlands, and to France, but we’re really excited to be playing in Germany for the first time. I think a couple of the boys have played Germany before with past projects, and are really excited to be coming back, myself included. We’re hoping to play alot in Europe, specially Germany, so we’re very excited to be coming over for the first time.
Vorfreude aufs Formosa Bierfest
metal-heads.de: One Highlight will definately your gig at the Formosa Bierfest 2026 in Our neighbour City of Essen in the German Steel belt, I promise. That will be a Not only a one day Festival but also a huge Party. How did You get into Contact to the guys of Formosa?
Silverroller: Our management are German based, so when we heard the run was put together we were really excited, we were told Formosa is really cool, so it’s certainly one of the shows on the run we’re looking forward to the most.
metal-heads.de: Beside a big rock n Roll Party and great live Music with 5 Bands the Formosa Bierfest Festival also presents a Special Kind of own Brewed Beer. I hope You will Taste a Slip of German Beer then as well…
Silverroller: I’ve been sober for a long time, so if I did it would be a personal disaster for me! I’m sure the other lads will make up for me though, if there’s a 0% option I’ll be all over it!
Neues Album in Sicht
metal-heads.de: Let’s talk about you as a band again. Silverroller got a record deal with Frontiers and you will Publishing your first full length record in March 2027 probably. How far are you with your record process and are you satisfied so far? Will we hear some of the new Songs from the record live here at the Formosa Bierfest?
Silverroller: We recorded the album last month, it was an intense week! We had eight days in the studio, and Chairworks, the studio we used was amazing. Also, I need to mention David Watts the engineer, he worked really hard for us. There wasn’t a lot of time to get the album down, but he really made the process possible. We’ve just signed off on the mixing process, Ross from The Commoners was our mixing engineer and he did a great job, he really caught the sound we wanted to get out of this record. Both him and Dave really understood the vision. We’re taking it to Abbey Road studios this week to have it mastered and we’re really excited to hear it finished and polished. We’ll certainly be playing some of the songs at Formasa!
Und so klingen Silverroller mit „Black Crow“
Mit der Zeitkapsel zurück in die 70´er Jahre
metal-heads.de: Please explain what the Formosa Bierfest visitors will See on Stage when They join your Show?
Silverroller: Well, visually you’ll probably be wondering if you’ve entered a 70s time slip! You’ll also find a very honest and energetic performance, we don’t use any backing tracks or tapes when we’re onstage, it’s just us, so you can expect something real, which in a world currently dominated by the disease of AI, you’ll get the antidote to that, a real rock n‘ roll band playing real, honest rock n‘ roll. We don’t speak much German, so we appreciate your understanding, we’ll try and speak slowly haha
Am Merchstand wird es Vinyl geben
metal-heads.de: That Sounds like much of fun. So the last words of this interview goes to you. What do you want to tell the German Music Fans?
Silverroller: We’re really looking forward to seeing you all for the first time, we can’t wait to bring the Silveroller brand of rock n‘ roll to Germany for the very first time! We hope you dig vinyl records!
metal-heads.de: Thanks for your time and see you soon at the Formosa Bierfest 2026!
