Die legendären Bay-Area-Thrash-Giganten Testament haben den Titeltrack ihres kommenden, zwölften Albums, The Brotherhood Of The Snake, dass am 28. Oktober über Nuclear Blast erscheinen wird, veröffentlicht. Das Album ist ab sofort in verschiedenen Formaten (Digibook, Limited Box Set, Limited Mailorder Box Set, Vinyl: black, clear, bi-colored, orange, splatter, silver, brown) hier vorbestellbar. Testament – Hintergrundinfos zum Album

Das ausdrucksstarke Cover wurde vom renommierten Künstler Eliran Kantor kreiert, der auch das Artwork des letzten Testament-Albums, The Dark Roots Of Earth, schuf und in der Vergangenheit außerdem für Bands wie Hatebreed, Soulfly oder Kataklysm arbeitete. Das Album wurde unter der Ägide von Produzent Juan Urteaga (Exodus, Heathen, Machine Head), Gitarrist Eric Peterson und Sänger Chuck Billy aufgenommen und vom renommierten Metal-Produzenten Andy Sneap gemischt und gemastert.

Statement von Petersen

Peterson dazu einem Interview mit Metal Maniac:

 „It’s very diverse, but it’s very epic. There’s nothing on there that breeds commercial. And I think for thirty years of recording music and trying different formulas and stuff, I think we’ve found a formula that is very metal. I think for the metal fan that is looking for something for the nook and crannies… not just your normal, ‚Oh, it’s got a thrash beat and a riff.‘ There’s a lot going on here.“  In einem weiteren Interview mit Metal Forces führte der Songwriter außerdem aus: „It’s different. This one is more thrash. I mean, this has got some of the fastest stuff that we have ever played. Usually, we have one or two thrash songs, and then we have some mid-tempo, and then we have a slow, heavy one, and then up-tempo kind of stuff. Half of the new record is thrash, which we’ve never done before.“
