Debütalbum von Chaos Rising erschienen: All-female Metal

Das All-female-Metal-Projekt Chaos Rising beschwört zwar Tod und Teufel. In die Albright’sche Hölle kommen die Metal-Göttinnen deswegen noch lange nicht! Denn bei Chaos Rising unterstützen sich Metal-Musikerinnen weltweit gegenseitig. Und das scheint bitter nötig. Denn Frauen im Metal sind nachweislich stark unterrepräsentiert. Mit Chaos Rising könnte sich alles ändern! Am 14. Oktober 2022 ist es endlich erschienen! Das Debütalbum des internationalen All-female-Metal-Projekts Chaos Rising. Zweimal zehn großartige Songs! Und die sind jetzt digital und als Doppel-CD erhältlich. [English version below!]

Zum Hintergrund: Chaos Rising ist ein rein weibliches Metal-Kollektiv. Die französische Multiinstrumentalistin Stéphanie Nolf (Unsafe, Syrinx) hat es im Jahr 2019 gegründet. Ein Crowdfunding hat die umfangreiche Produktion finanziert. Und auf dem Debütalbum sind nun also Musikerinnen aus 36 Ländern vertreten. Doch das ist gar nicht so leicht zu koordinieren! Das haben die beiden Masterminds Stéphanie Nolf und Catherine Fearns im Interview mit Metal-Heads.de schon ausführlich verraten. Übrigens kommt sogar das Artwork von einem weiblichen Metal-Maniac! Nämlich von Tina Gruschwitz von Dark Light Illustrations. Und die Demorphed-Bassistin ist natürlich auch als Musikerin auf dem Album zu hören.

All-female Metal: Debütalbum von Chaos Rising thematisch zweigeteilt

Was macht das Album nun aber so besonders? Die Doppel-CD ist thematisch und folglich auch physisch in zwei Teile gegliedert. Die ersten zehn Tracks sind „For The Head“. Und hier findet sich ein gemischtes, aber in sich schlüssiges Sammelsurium. Nämlich von brettharten, brachialen Songs der bösen und finsteren Spielart. Und die fegen die Hörerschaft nur so weg! Weiblicher Extreme Metal von Death bis Black und zurück… Von der Kreativität und Spielfreude, die hier von immer neu zusammengestellten Musikerinnenteams versprüht wird, können sich manch etablierte Bands wirklich inspirieren lassen. Denn jeder Song ist eine einzigartige, schwarze Perle.

Die folgenden zehn Songs sind „For The Heart“. Doch das heißt nicht, dass hier Kuschelrock neu aufgelegt wird! Vielmehr stehen jetzt vor allem cleane Gesangsparts im Vordergrund. Folglich sind die Songs nicht mehr ganz so brutal. Aber deshalb gehen sie nicht weniger nach vorne. Und im Sinne von Metal-Subgenres ist hier mehr stilistische Breite vereint. Teils sind die Tracks sehr symphonisch. In anderen Fällen sind sie dunkel, düstig und „doomig“.

Wer sich für Metal und die Geschichte des Metal interessiert, muss das Debütalbum von Chaos Rising im Schrank stehen haben! Es ist ein bedeutendes Zeitzeugnis und ein wahres Stück Metal-Kultur! Und es wird Musikgeschichte schreiben!

Chaos Rising debut album released: All-female Metal

„There is a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women,“ said former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. The all-female metal project Chaos Rising conjures up death and devil. Yet, the metal goddesses will not end up in Albright’s hell for a long time! Because with Chaos Rising female metal musicians support each other all over the world. And that seems sorely needed. Because women in metal are demonstrably underrepresented. Everything could change with Chaos Rising! It finally came out on October 14, 2022! The debut album by international all-female metal project Chaos Rising. Twice ten great songs! And they are now available digitally and as a double CD.

Background: Chaos Rising is an all-female metal collective. The French multi-instrumentalist Stéphanie Nolf (Unsafe, Syrinx) founded it in 2019. Crowdfunding financed the extensive production. And on the debut album, female musicians from 36 countries are now represented. But that’s not so easy to coordinate! The two masterminds Stéphanie Nolf and Catherine Fearns have already revealed this in detail in an interview with Metal-Heads.de. By the way, even the artwork comes from a female metal maniac! All-female Metal: Chaos Rising’s debut album divided into two themes

But what makes the album so special? The double CD is thematically and consequently also physically divided into two parts. The first ten tracks are „For The Head“. And here is a mixed but coherent conglomeration. Namely from rock-hard, brute songs of the evil and sinister variety. And they just sweep away the audience! Female Extreme Metal from Death to Black and back… Some established bands can really be inspired by the creativity and joy of playing that is sprayed here by the constantly newly assembled teams of musicians. Because every song is a unique, black pearl.

The following ten songs are „For The Heart“. But that doesn’t mean that Kuschelrock is being reissued here! In fact, clean vocal parts are now in the foreground. As a result, the songs aren’t quite as brutal anymore. But that doesn’t make them any less forward. And in the spirit of Metal subgenres, more stylistic breadth is united here. Some of the tracks are very symphonic. In other cases, they are dark, hazy and „doomy“.

Anyone interested in metal and the history of metal must have Chaos Rising’s debut album in their collection! It is an important testimony and a true piece of metal culture! And it will write music history!
