MÄDHOUSE-„Bad Habits“-Review

im Stil der 80´er und frühen 90´er Jahre, als unter anderem Bands wie MÖTLEY CRÜE, SKID ROW und POISON zünftigen schmissigen Rock gespielt haben und bei keiner richtigen Party, die etwas auf sich hielt, fehlen durften. MÄDHOUSE (Homepage) aus Österreich predigen den Hair- bzw. Glam-Metal. Sie haben sich jetzt 2021 der Sache wieder angenommen und eine neue Messe geschrieben, in Form von 15 Songs auf dem Album „Bad Habits“. Ab dem 23.04.2021 wird diese Messe für Stimmung sorgen. (Anders als die zum Einschlafen langweiligen Sonntagsgottesdienste, die man so kennt.) Schlechte Gewohnheiten kann man jedenfalls nicht mit der Qualität der Songs auf dem Album in Verbindung bringen. Dann lass ich die Platte mal rotieren und

„BANG BANG“

geht es direkt los. Fetzige Riffs und jaulende Gitarren in Verbindung mit einem fetten Groove versprühen sofort gute Laune. Die Luftgitarre ist umgehend am Start. Sofort verspürt man auch den Drang sich ein kühles Blondes aus dem kalten Freudenspender zu holen.

„Sick Of It All“ klingt in den Strophen etwas düsterer. Cool gemacht! Natürlich kann auch dieser Song mit einem top Chorus glänzen, der wie sooft auf dem Album zum Mitgrölen einlädt. Davon könnt Ihr Euch gleich sofort überzeugen.

Die Mission Rock

geht voll und ganz auf und MÄDHOUSE hauen allerlei Smasher raus. Ein besonderes Augenmerk sollte man auf die Songtitel richten. Keine Ahnung, nach wieviel Bierchen oder anderem Zeug man sich diese geilen Songtitel ausgedacht hat. Da wäre z.B. „First Lick Then Stick“ oder “ Tourette Brunette“, der übrigens ein echtes Highlight auf dem Album darstellt. Verdammt, der Song geht richtig geil ab. Hier kommen die Riffs eine Spur härter in die Gänge. Der Chorus ist auch hier und wie sooft auf dem Album full of Catchiness und rummst einfach mit einem fetten Bumms den Text ins Gehör. Gut gelungen sind ebenfalls die fetzigen Leadgitarren und die irren Solos, die dem Sound eine

gute Portion Wildheit

bescheren. Damit wären wir bei dem Song „Metal Creed“, der Euch schön die Nüsse durchschütteln lässt. Hier geht monstermäßig so was von die Post ab. „Fake It Till You Make It“ steht dem in nichts nach und lässt es hammermäßig in den Ohren scheppern.

Allerdings werdet Ihr auf der Platte eine typische Sache der 80´er Jahre-Platten vermissen. Die obligatorische Schmalzballade fehlt hier. Lediglich „Pure Oxytocin“ wäre da im Angebot, die nun aber auch nicht so richtig ruhig daherkommt. Lassen wir es mal unter dem Begriff Powerballade laufe, wenn man großzügig ist. Ruhige melodische Passagen gepaart mit einer Dosis Power und geilen Gitarrenleads sorgen für Begeisterung.

Fazit

MÄDHOUSE sind verrückt und scheissen auf Etikette! Dies drückt alleine der Albumtitel „Bad Habits“ aus. Die Texte und Songtitel sind beileibe nicht lyrisch oder sonstwie anspruchsvoll. MÄDHOUSE kommen eher mit einer Leck-Mich-Am-Arsch-Einstellung daher und wollen niemanden belehren oder sozialkritisch sein.

Sie wollen einfach nur unterhalten und Spaß haben!

Und hey… Das machen sie verdammt gut. Handwerklich astrein und die Produktion ist megafett. Also wer für die nächste Party die perfekten Stimmungsmacher in Sachen Rock sucht, der ist hier genau richtig. Und wenn man ihr mal nen richtig beschissenen Tag habt, dann wird die Mucke Euch katapultmäßig auf eine Gute-Laune-Wolke schießen und ihr zeigt der Welt von oben den dicken Mittelfinger. Versprochen!

Tut Euch nur einen Gefallen und lasst die Mucke auf richtigen Boxen und einer gescheiten Stereoanlage krachen und nicht aus so einem Bluetooth-Röhrchen. Das schraubt den Genussfaktor deutlich nach oben.

P.S.: Die Review wurde unter 1,0 Promille geschrieben. Dies hatte keinen Einfluss auf meine Bewertung und wurde außerdem von der bestimmt nüchternen Chefredaktion so durchgewunken 😂.

No party that wanted to be a really good one could be without one of these bands. MÄDHOUSE (Homepage ) from Austria preach the Hair- or Glam-Metal. They have now taken up the cause again in 2021 and written a new fair, in the form of 15 songs on the album „Bad Habits“. From 23.04.2021 this fair will provide entertainment. Now I let the album rotate and

„BANG BANG“

it goes off directly. Wild riffs and howling guitars in connection with a fat groove immediately spread a good mood. The air guitar is immediately at the start. Immediately you also feel the urge to get yourself a cool blonde beer from the cold joy dispenser.

„Sick Of It All“ sounds a bit darker in the verses. Cool made! Of course, this song can also shine with a top chorus, which as so often on the album invites you to sing along. You can convince yourself of this immediately.

The mission Rock

is completely successful and all kinds of smashers are released. A special attention should be directed to the song titles. No idea, after how many beers or other stuff they came up with these cool song titles. There is for example „First Lick Then Stick“ or “ Tourette Brunette“, which is by the way a highlight on the album. Damn, the song goes off really cool and puts the pedal to the metal. Here the riffs come a track harder in the gears. The chorus is also here and as so often on the album full of catchiness and simply rumbles the lyrics into the ear. Well done are also the wild lead guitars and the crazy solos, which give the sound a

good portion of wildness.

This brings us to the song „Metal Creed“, which lets you shake your nuts nicely. Here it goes fucking wild. „Fake It Till You Make It“ is in no way inferior and lets it rattle hammer-like in the ears.

However, you will miss a typical thing of the 80’s records on the record. The obligatory soulful ballad is missing here. Only „Pure Oxytocin“ would be there in the offer, which not really calm comes along. Let’s run it under the term power ballad, if one is generous. Quiet melodic passages paired with a dose of power and cool guitar leads provide enthusiasm.

Result

MÄDHOUSE are crazy and shit on etiquette! This is expressed by the album title „Bad Habits“ alone. The lyrics and song titles are by no means lyrically or otherwise sophisticated. These come rather with a lick-my-ass attitude. They don’t want to teach anyone or be socially critical.

MÄDHOUSE just want to entertain and have fun!

And hey… It is very well done. Craftsmanship is excellent and the production is mega-fat. So if you’re looking for the perfect mood setters in rock for the next party, this is the right band for you. And if you have a really shitty day, then the music will shoot you catapult-like on a cloud of good mood and you show the world from above the big middlefinger. Promise!

Just do yourself a favor and let the music crash on real speakers and a proper stereo system and not from such a little Bluetooth tube. This increases the enjoyment factor significantly.
