KAUNIS KUOLEMATON-Syttyköön Toinen Aurinko

Review english
Monumental DOOM Metal
The year is coming to an end and at the beginning of the cold season the friends of dark doom metal get served some fantastic albums. DRACONIAN and RED MOON ARCHITECT have already done a great job recently. Now the album „Syttyköön Toinen Aurinko“ by KAUNIS KUOLEMATON (Facebook ) is ready to start on 27.11.2020. For me the album is a revelation. You will now find out the reasons for this.
A veritable cornucopia
of musical impressions the five Finns of KAUNIS KUOLEMATON pour out over the listener. For me, this is unique and special in its kind. The album is special just because all songs are written in Finnish. This of course makes it outstanding and gives the sound an extravagant mystical component.
The beautiful spherical intro introduces the album perfectly. With wonderfully sounding acoustic guitar sounds you glide into a dreamy world. An epically brilliant guitar solo follows. Everything is accompanied by atmospheric keyboard synths. And then it starts….
Tremendous
the monument rises with the first song „Syttyköön Toinen Aurinko“. Accompanied by powerful orchestral sounds the gates open for the singer Olli Suvanto, who bursts out with driving sinister growls. This sounds insanely impressive, not least because of the Finnish language. The song builds up a threatening mood with heavy drums and dark riffs. Also the narrative evocative phrases fit perfectly into the song. The music has an epic aura throughout. The song ends with dreamy acoustic guitar sounds.
„Hautajaiset“ brings yet another vocal segment into play. Sublime choral vocal lines from the singer and guitarist Mikko Heikkilä, who gives the sound a special mystical and mysterious touch. So listen in…
In other spheres
KAUNIS KUALEMATON live. This doom developed a very special atmosphere, because one succeeds in merging different stylistic elements into a profound whole. Beside the dark growls there are some nasty Black-Metal outbreaks that whip up the song. This is what the song „Kylmä Maa“ stands for.
Opposites,
who become one. So they also make use of clean vocal lines, which are not sung by a female voice, but by guitarist Mikko Heikkilä. In this respect KAUNIS KUOLEMATON can also come up with a lot of feeling, which they prove with the song „Paha Ihminen“. At the beginning Mikko Heikkilä conjures dreamlike singing into the ear with a wonderful background music by an acoustic guitar. This dreamlike melody continues in the harder passages of the song, but the disturbing moments come when Olli Suvanto steps in and steers the song in a completely different direction. A Black Metal-Circular-Saw suddenly cuts through the song and dark growls let the darkness enter. Crazy song!
Phenomenal,

what the five men offer us. In every respect, all the protagonists are technically demanding and have delivered more than flawlessly. In addition to the first-class vocals with their very different forms of expression, I also noticed the first-class guitar playing. Beside the heavy pressing riffs, the lead guitar appears with its detailed ravishing inserts, which simply inspire, just by listening to these solos. Also the acoustic guitar sounds are simply enchanting.
Result
With their album „Syttyköön Toinen Aurinko“, KAUNIS KUOLEMATON have created a magnificent and magical world where you are captured by an incredibly dense atmosphere. It is an album full of ideas and details that lead to an incomparable listening experience. This makes it a clear contender for the album of the year for me.
This album will follow you in your dreams and beyond!
